  • "Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage, and thank you for the welcome card and wine, much appreciated."

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only slight disappointment was that there was no shower but to be fair it wasn’t mentioned in the facilities so I can’t complain. The games rooms were also appreciated, thank you.

  • "The property is noisy."

The water heater had to be turned off due to the water boiling all night. it would be prudent to heat the water during the day. We were told to press the boost to override with an immersion heater. This did not work so we had no hot water after the first day. The traffic noise in the twin bedroom will keep light sleeper awake all night. It may seem petty but only one toilet roll was provided for 4 people for a 3 night stay.

  • "A really comfortable cottage in a lovely setting."

It was beautifully clean, and really warm. As ever, Sykes have come up with a great place to stay. And this part of Northumberland is wonderful for walking.

  • "We never got to stay in bramble cottage at the last minute the owners contacted us and told us that Bramble cottage was unavailable due to maintenance issues so we were given a cottage called periwinkle."

they told us it was an upgrade over bramble cottage this again is a lie bramble had a four poster bed periwinkle has a normal double, Bramble has a really large kitchen, Periwinkles kitchen is tiny in comparison the décor in Bramble is much nicer there are big beautiful windows at bramble and Tiny little windows at periwinkle before arrival we asked if we could have Lavender cottage as that looked nicer than Bramble but were told outright flat NO as they said it was booked even though there website said it was available the lady on the phone was really rude to my wife and said that is all we have take it or leave it end of conversation, upon arrival and the main reason for being unhappy we found another couple STAYING IN BRAMBLE the cottage we had booked and were told we could not have due to maintenance issues so they had clearly LIED there was no maintenance issue with bramble cottage they had clearly given the cottage to someone else even though we had booked it through yourselves

  • "They moved us up to Ivy Cottage for no extra charge."

It has better facilities and it had become vacant. We had the choice of course. Staff on the site were very helpful. I was impressed by how quiet and peaceful it was.
