  • "The cottage was very cosy and furnished to a good standard."

Everything is included in the property to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The bar and leisure facilities were available although we didn't use them. The staff were very helpful . Parking was very easy and the immediate area surrounding the cottage was very good. The nearby town of Wooler has a good selection of Pubs, restaurants and shops.

  • "In any review, the first question should be : Would you return to this property?"

The answer to that is YES. Second question should be: Do you think anything could be improved? The answer to that is YES. Great property, great location, near enough for the coast, the castles, and the borders. Things that could be improved. 1. While it's great to laze in a bath after a days cycling or walking, there really should be a shower. The room is big enough for both, but a shower over the bath would be a great addition. Four people would be far better served with a shower. Plus the hot water is supplied by a tank, which means if you don't limit early use, it can mean less hot water for others, or a wait to reheat. Furthermore, as a 62 yo, I did find getting out of the bath an occasional challenge. 2. While I understand that storage heaters are low cost, they really don't lend themselves to instant and controllable heat. We did have one day that was cold, but we had no access to heat. We did turn one storage heater on, but it took 36 hours to generate any heat, and that was on a day when the sun came out. We returned home to a red hot kitchen, which then took another 36 hours to turn off. Other than those two issues, we found the cottage fantastic. We took walks and cycle trips straight out of the door. And we were only about 40 minutes from the coast, the castles and the border areas.
