We had a good few nights here.
As some previous guests have noted, the overall decor of the property is very dated, but this wasn’t a problem for us. The important thing is that everything was scrupulously clean, everything worked, the beds were comfy and it was very quiet. Some previous guests in nearby properties had mentioned road noise, but we didn’t hear this at all once inside the property, and there was no noise from the nearby onsite pub either. The site itself was great: there’s a pool and a couple of games rooms and lovely walks up the Cheviot Hills with paths starting directly behind the property.

Tastefully decorated. Overgrown front garden. All facilities in good working order and plenty of utensils in kitchen Lots of hot water for a good deep bath, but only 1 towel per person for a 3 night stay. Bar staff lovely and very friendly. Lady at reception unfriendly, cold and unpproachable. Did not want to be bothered with us and made us feel like asking a question was an intrusion Facebook says food served in bar but there is no food available, so after a 7hr drive to get there in 30c heat, was very disappointed to be learn actually no facilities to purchase a meal on site. Tried 3 time to use pool but a large family group were using it and playing water polo in there and we were unable to swim or use other facilities. Be better for all if we could book a time slot as unable to use despite paying for use.
We had a wonderful stay.
The cottage is well maintained, clean and homely. The kitchen was well resourced which meant we could have a cosy meal in. The bedding and towels were immaculately clean with additional blankets if needed. The handwritten card, wine and goat haribos were a lovely little surprise and hugely appreciated. Thank you! The addition of the games room and country pub was great and meant we could stay on the property in the evening and still have entertainment. The helpful Green folder which outlined the local area, shops, visitor attractions and pub/restaurants was really helpful. We are already discussing when we will return! Thank you for a great stay! We will recommend your cottages to our friends.
