  • "Beautiful spot, easy access to National Park."

Cottage very comfortable, everything provided. Really cosy after being out all day. Would need a car to access places, but so many spots to visit! Area of natural beauty, fantastic scenery.

  • "The actual holiday complex was superb and very quiet indeed."

The facilities in the cottage were very good and up to a high standard with everything we needed. The only drawback was the bed and pillows were hard and lumpy and really needed replacing. Altogether we were most impressed and thought it was excellent value for money.

Lupin Cottage rests within a cluster of charming stone cottages on the tranquil grounds of Akeld Manor, offering a peaceful escape in the heart of Northumberland.

Set across the ground floor, this inviting retreat combines character and comfort, making it an ideal choice for a small family getaway to the stunning countryside.

Before stepping inside, pause to admire the timeless stonework that frames the cottage’s exterior, a hint of the rustic charm that awaits within.

Enter through a small tiled entrance with an exposed stone wall, where the cool touch of stone and the soft light set the tone for your stay.

As you move further inside, the living/dining room greets you with a striking beam overhead, artwork adorning the walls, and views stretching out to the courtyard – a space where heritage and homeliness blend effortlessly.

Sink into the leather sofa or armchairs and unwind with your favourite shows on the Smart TV as you share stories from the day’s discoveries.

The adjoining country-style kitchen is equipped with everything you need for self-catering, its handsome wooden fixtures adding warmth and authenticity to the space, alongside attractive oak cabinets and a handy washing machine for convenience.

When it’s time to relax, escape to the smart family bathroom and soak in the spacious tub before retiring to one of two restful bedrooms: a beautiful king-size with soft carpet underfoot for added comfort, and a charming bunk room perfect for younger guests.

Step outside to the courtyard for a quiet moment on balmy summer evenings, or venture beyond the cottage to enjoy an array of exceptional facilities: challenge friends to snooker or table football, take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, or sip a drink at the rustic bar as laughter fills the air.

Families will love the play areas, while those planning a special occasion will find wedding and event potential here, supported by trusted local contacts for caterers, florists, marquees, celebrants and more – everything you need to create an unforgettable celebration.

And for a truly magical touch, keep watch for the elusive Cheviot goats roaming the hills and, if you’re lucky, wandering into the gardens – a rare and enchanting sight that makes Lupin Cottage even more special.

Make Lupin Cottage your base for a memorable escape to Northumberland, where heritage meets comfort and every detail invites you to linger a little longer.
