"Such a great cottage in a lovely setting."
So well equipped and comfortable - we loved our extended stay and are looking forward to our next stay already. The owner, Mark, was super helpful, friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.
"Lovely cosy cottage with spectacular wide ranging views."

The cottage was finished to a high end clearly a lot of money was spent but the cleaning left a lot to b desired the en-suite shower head was not clean under an around fridge was not clean kitchen units were very greesy an quite a bit of dirt an dust under living room units and the pillows are needing changed thay were very very poor quality
"The cottage was spacious inside and was fitted out to a modern standard, with all the facilities we needed and more."
It was a nice to find some welcome gifts of food and drink on arrival, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Externally, there is a private garden area, which had great views of the surrounding area and provided ample space for both the family/dog to enjoy. Makes for a great base to explore the surrounding area from.
"Was a lovely, lovely place."
Came with my partner, mum, two children and dog for my 30th birthday and it was a gorgeous place. Would definitely come back and recommend.
Obviously a lot of thought went into what visitors need. We preferred the chairs with backs to the benches at the table and that freed a bench to act as a table in front of the settee. It's a lovely setting. Lanton is a delightful village, lovely cottages and gardens to admire and much entertainment to be had in the notices at the old bus stop. Some serving spoons and an extra veggie bowl for the table would have been icing on the cake.
"Really enjoyed staying at 2 The Loan."
Great location for our trip to Scotland
"Lovely cottage in a very pretty location offering all the comforts of home"
Fantastic welcome pack, best we’ve had. So clean too. Ideally placed for lots of places but very quiet location on edge of village.
"Probably the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in."
Immaculately presented with everything we could possibly want/need. The location is stunning and to top it all a lovely welcome basket. Can't rate highly enough and we will definitely be back!
"Lovely house in a great location."
Plenty of places to visit nearby, enjoyed a trip to Hawick Musuem. Could not fault it, cool during the day and warm at night.
"Lovely cottage very well set out owners have thought of everything."
Will be booking again.
Comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Owner was very quick to solve a small problem with the hot water remotely via Hive which was brilliant. Was accommodating and called to make sure the matter was resolved. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
"Lovely well equipped and cozy cottage in a fantastic location."
We had a great trip and would recommend.
"A brilliant stay ."
Peaceful, cottage renovated to a very high standard. Thank you. Dean Norris
"Quiet, clean and well kept, dog friendly cottage in good location - well stocked and great welcome pack."
Thoroughly enjoyed it, and may well come back.
"Lovely house with particularly nice bedrooms , especially the main bedroom ."
Welcome pack provided Modern facilities and smart tv in every room is great Wifi very good Kitchen is extremely small so only one person can be in at a time . Although lots of things left for our dog I wouldn’t choose to come here again with my dog . The dog can’t go upstairs and nor can the dog be let off the lead anywhere on property grounds or surrounding areas due to farmers fields . Fine if you have a small / old dog but if you have a springer like me then lead walks don’t really do . I would return to this property but not with my dog .
"We very much enjoyed our stay at Borders Cottage and would definitely recommend it to anyone."
It is tidy, cosy, warm and clean. The rooms are all very nice and enjoyable to be in. The garden is steep, but lovely and big, and includes really dog safe fencing, and nice outdoor seating. And views. We loved the welcome food basket in the kitchen, so thoughtful, and the electric candles in the living area were fun to have, too. It's peaceful here, as well, not much traffic noise in the garden.
"Beautifully fitted out house, lots of attention to details."
Great location for trips and visiting the area. Lots to see and do. Very relaxing, would definitely recommend a visit.
No negative comments.
"Loved the extras for the dog, thank you!"
"Had a lovely stay, its a beautiful peaceful cottage and very well equipped."
Couple of minor points - there was only half a toilet roll in each bathroom with no spares, and 1 dishwasher tablet. We went out to buy both and it would have been nice if there'd been a little more. That's all though, it was otherwise great!
"Lovely house in the rural Scottish Borders."
