  • "This is a lovely farmhouse in a fabulous position with super views."

It was clean and well equipped. It was cosy and warm. The owner responded quickly to a query I sent by text. It’s located well for visits to Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton, as well as the Monsal Trail and the Tissington Trail. There is a footpath from the farmhouse into Bakewell if you fancy a walk. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

  • "Fantastic views."

Boundaries not completely secure for a larger dog with jumping ambitions but perfectly fine for the greyhound we had with us with supervision. Simply furnished but cosy and fully equipped. A lovely cottage and a peaceful place.

  • "The accommodation was very nice, no complaints, the problem was the surroundings."

We have a German shepherd, was told that dogs can’t get out as their are walls and fences all round, this was true the problem was that my dog jumped over one of the gates, which brings me to my next problem, we had thought that we would be able to have walks over the fields and let my dog run, this was made impossible due to the fact that every field had sheep and cows in them, also there are no bridle paths for walking, so due to the aforementioned the week was below my expectations

  • "Lovely spacious cottage with beautiful views."

Child-friendly. Lots of floor space in the living room for playing with children. Outdoor area large also. Feels like a long way from the madding crowd - which what I prefer- but actually very close to Bakewell for those who like a bijou small Derbyshire town. Enjoyed it so much there that I have booked already for next year for a longer period.

The location is perfect . The house is clean well equipped and the layout amazing . Near to Bakewell and Chatsworth and ideal for exploring the peaks but quiet . A real sanctuary to return after a day out . Highly recommend . We will definitely be staying again .

  • "The house is fabulous, well appointed, clean and comfortable."

The view from the front across the valley is to die for. Certainly the property details and photos on Sykes listing don’t feature this enough. We live in the country side, so finding anywhere more peaceful and beautiful is a challenge but Lower Cowden Farm met our needs and expectations. Would certainly return if we holiday in the Peak District again.

  • "A beautiful house in the most amazing setting."

We had a wonderful week celebrating a milestone birthday as well as plenty of time to sit and ponder the amazing views. The surrounding area was beautiful, lots to do and see. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful with any queries we had.

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location with a view you would never tire of."

Close by to everything we needed and had planned to do. We were lucky to have some fantastic weather whilst we were staying and spent a lot of time outside in the garden. It would’ve been nice to have had some more garden chairs, 2 provide for the 6 adults staying. Large kitchen so we could happily eat together. Another chair in the lounge also would’ve been useful when we spent the nights in there. Would recommend.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in this truly beautiful setting in a very lovely house."

The beds were so comfortable, pillows and duvets divine. The 360 degree view is one you could never tire of. Easy access to Bakewell town which had an amazing g market when we visited. Lovely shops and hostelries and something for everyone. Perhaps if being picky, another armchair in the living room would be handy and there wasn’t a hairdryer which was expected. Everything else one needed was there including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. We will most definitely return asap. Thank you.

  • "We ve visited the Peak District for over 25 years and stayed in some lovely places but this house has to be one of the best."

It has the most amazing views and is more than comfortable. The enclosed garden was perfect for our large dogs to play in, and kept them safe. There really is nothing to complain about I would, however, suggest that more information could be given about recycling and bin collection, as there is none in Bakewell. Maps and info on the surrounding areas would be a bonus but not a major problem for us We loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend this house.

  • "Lovely stay , would visit again."

Beautiful setting, house warm and clean and comfortable which could have been improved with a few very minor additions- extra seating in sitting room (not enough for 6) information folder in house including info such as recycling, thermostats, how to work the TV and on places to eat, pubs and cafes that OK for dogs, local walks etc and a cafeteria!
