  • "Lovely house, however lots of dog hair everywhere and property a little tired."

Could do with a few more kitchen utensils too like some scissors. Distinct lack of plug sockets too!

  • "The owner was lovely and attended to a couple of problems straight away."

However the kitchen equipment is very limited so you need to take what you need for your stay. No grater, whisk, bakeware and limited dishes and oven to table wear. I would also advise to take your own pans as the non stick coating is coming off off so not safe to use. The home is nicely decorated and although not a great area, it was very quiet.

  • "Reasonably well equipped property."

We have marked it down because of the very strong smell of dog! The scent jars do not really help - in some ways make it worse. The culprit seems to be the shaggy pile carpets. Covered in dog hairs both in the house and in the sun lounge. We have owned a dog ourselves in the past but not a longhaired retriever. It has put us off booking a property which permits dogs. Sad really!! A small amount of maintenance needed on the toilet seat and the drainage from the kitchen through the sun lounge. The only other thing missing was instructions on bin collection and somewhere to recycle glass etc. Terry

Apart from that we jad a lovely stay. Lovely welcome box.

  • "Spacious & clean with a lovely conservatory, the beds were so comfortable with an ensuite to the main bedroom, plus downstairs bathroom."

Great enclosed garden in a peaceful area with lovely walks round about. Thanks for the 'Welcome Basket'. We would definitely recommend this house but 3 mobiles phones had trouble with the poor WiFi.

  • "It was a well priced cottage for us as a cheap family holiday plus a whippet."

The whippet loved the conservatory and the shaggy carpet. The beds were warm, comfortable with lots of blankets, just right for a great nights sleep. There is a lot to do here as we traveled from the Southwest we visited Manchester, IKEA, Chesterfield famous twisted spire and Sheffield's environment city. We had to turn the heating off as it was a warm house for February half-term. I would recommend it's position for days out traveling by car, and closeness to supermarkets.

  • "I have sciatica and found the very steep stairs most difficult."

Even my daughter said they were difficult. Also the sofas needed professional deep cleaning. The kitchen was sparsely equipped and we had to buy a potato masher . There were no serving dishes. These are an example of small improvements that would make a lot of difference. I feel that It would be a good idea if you had somebody actually live in your properties for a couple of nights to. accurately grade and describe them. The lady who owned the house was very nice and friendly

Many thanks for your comments, they are greatly appreciated. Sorry to hear of the issues you have mentioned in terms of the sofas and kitchen utensils, however I can assure you that the sofas are new with labels still on. I have reviewed the kitchen utensils and added in further items as suggested. Hope to see you all again soon. regards Jane Property Owner

  • "This is a beautiful house in a nice quiet peaceful area."

The house is tastefully decorated throughout. The conservatory was lovely to sit in and eat or just relax. The bath is a good size and great to soak in. The bed we used was comfortable and we slept well. The kitchen was a good size and well laid out. It was a pleasure to cook there. We enjoyed spending time in the garden and it is very dog friendly and private. The owner was very responsive and welcoming and left a welcome pack which was very welcome indeed. Nearby are two playgrounds, a park, playing field and canal. The local shop is just across the road. Two pubs within easy reach. The No 90 bus takes you straight to a big Tesco and a big Sainsbury and the bus stop is only a short walk down the road. There is a regular bus service running from the main road so it is easy to get into Brimmington or Chesterfield. The Owner left plenty of leaflets about things to do if you come with a car. There is a garage for off-road parking. We had a lovely time here and liked it so much we didn't want to leave and booked an extra week so stayed 3 weeks instead of 2. It was relaxing and just what we needed. Would highly recommend.

  • "Despite been advertised as off road parking, this property did not have any off road parking, unless we missed something ?"

The property was not the cleanest and smelled of dog. Fixtures like blinds and curtains are tired. We couldn’t find a dishcloth ? Biscuits in the welcome pack were out of date ? There were no details about the place is Bins or how to leave the place etc. only a folder with manufacturers literature in The main bed was comfy however and the place did serve as a base for work. Not sure it would be classed as a holiday rental really.

Thank you for your feed back. I would just like to add the garage is now available for guests to use if they wish. The property has been deep cleaned as a direct result of your feedback. However we do welcome pets ! The property is maintained constantly to try and make guests feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. We hope to see you again very soon.
