"Lovely comfortable accommodation, good facilities, nice location in friendly village."
Plenty to do around the area.
-
"A lovely cosy house, everything you could need for your holiday."
-
"Longnor is an attractive village with local shops and pubs and well-placed for walking nearby in beautiful scenery."
Millward House is on the road, but that is very quiet. It's a very pleasant spacious house but with steep stairs which some people might find difficult. The bedrooms are good with outstandingly comfortable beds. Bathrooms are good too. The kitchen is very well equipped. All was spotlessly clean. The garden has two seating areas at different levels (with steep steps) good for breakfast and for evening drinks.

"I didn't think the listing did the property justice."
We were very impressed with the space and the location. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you
Thank you that's great to hear. Yes we plan new photos on website at sometime. Property Owner

"This is a substantial holiday cottage in a great location."
It is very well equipped and was presented in clean and tidy condition. John was readily accessible to provide help and guidance when necessary. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and we would not hesitate to return.
-
"Great holiday cottage for family holiday, nice bedrooms and well equipped kitchen."
-
"Second time visiting, in the dark cold month of December, after a tough day walking, the house is perfect to get back to and warm up, the log burner and lounge are an ideal spot to sit around and talk about the days activities, over a beer."
Plenty of space for all our group, and the new bathrooms are a nice upgrade. Perfect as before.
-
"A beautiful, characterful house and ideally located for walking in the Peaks."
We loved the woodburner, the comfortable sitting room and the generous bathrooms and bedroom. The welcome pack was much aprreciated.
-
"Lovely cottage."
Very helpful and responsive owners. Longnor is a gorgeous village.
-
"House was very clean, well equipped and in a great location with easy parking."
The only drawback of this property is that WiFi was poor/absent in two of the bedrooms.
-
"We enjoyed a lovely week staying at Millward House in Longnor."
The property has a lovely character and was roomy enough for a family of 6. The kitchen has a rather old fashioned layout but this is to be expected in a period property. The owners John and Averil were friendly and helpful. Longnor and the surrounding area are something of a hidden gem and are within easy reach of the more touristy bits of the peaks.

"The house in Longnor was perfect for us as a group of friends, everyone loved the house and we spent most of the weekend in the very comfortable, spacious but cosy front room, all the bedrooms we amazing, and yes the house is old, so expect the house to have its imperfections/quirks and don't expect anything ultra modern, but the photos of the property so the cottage as we found it."
We can recommend this property highly. We contacted the owner to ask for a double bed to be split into a twin, this was done for us without any fuss. Longnor is a good base for many good walks, and various options for food and drink.

"Nice big house, warm, beds comfy."
Great food at Merchant House just down the street.
-
"This place is what dreams are made of."
Country life but close to everything needed. So friendly. Will definitely be using again
-
"The cottage had plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery."
Beds were comfortable and lounge cosy, with plenty of games and DVD s. A larger TV would have been better . Loved the log burner. A downstairs toilet would be useful but realise it is an old building. Very central to Matlock, Buxton, Chatsworth House, Ashbourne and Leek. Everyone very friendly and can recommend the fish and chip shop .

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Milward House."
It is a spacious and comfortable house. I was able to explore some of the surrounding paths for a 5 mile run and had a particularly pleasant run thanks to one of the nearby residents to Longnior pointing me onto a path through fields which I would have found hard to locate without his patience. As a result I found myself back into Longnor via the farm which is a part of this charming village. It was a memorable and enjoyable experience.

"Just wasn't what we were expecting."
We appreciate that it's an old property but that's no excuse for poor cleanliness. The main "walkways / work areas" were clean but go beyond and it was dirty. Also a bad smell of damp downstairs with a number of damp stains to walls and ceilings. We used 2 tins of air freshener. Bulbs blown in every room. Hoover was full of pet hair and didn't pick up. Too many pots out, which were we to use as most were dirty/dusty. Upstairs taps need a service as they hardly turn on, also poor water pressure, maybe a pump required? Hardly get wet in the shower and gave up on filling the bath! Rubbish bin was full and bags thrown on the floor in the upper garden. This place needs a deep clean and some tlc, it could be so nice. On a positive, the beds were comfortable and clean and the property is well situated for exploring.

"We stayed at Millward House for a family get together and it was perfect for this."
There was plenty of room and the beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped allowing us to cook for ourselves, but we also had a wonderful meal at Merchants Kitchen in the village square, but would suggest booking as it was very busy. We would definately book this again if we needed somewhere for a large gathering.

"Fantastic House in a very pleasant village"
-
"A very comfortable holiday house in a beautiful location."
-
"Warm, well equipped comfortable home."
We had a fantastic family weekend to celebrate a birthday. The stairs are very steep and the parking is on road so dependant on getting there first but there is alternative parking very close by. A super location for exploring the peaks.
-
"Beautiful house with everything you need to make the holiday easy, from salt and matches to a next-door pub and fish and chip shop."
-
"Good communication from Sykes re payments, key collection etc."
Only niggle was the key safe at this property is low down and difficult to use. The key to the front door needs replacing as it was also difficult to use.
-
"Really pleased we chose this cottage as it was perfect for our cycling weekend with friends, in a lovely location close to places to eat / drink."
-
"Our stay was very enjoyable but there were a couple of things which would have made it even better."
The outside spaces need tidying up and the shower on the top floor needs attention because it can't be adjusted as necessary. Our first impression of the kitchen was disappointing because there is some damage to the unit as you walk in, although this doesn't interfere with the practical use of the kitchen. During our stay we noticed that the gas bottles needed replacing so we phoned the owner, who was grateful that we had checked this, and the next day the gas bottles were replaced. The beds were very comfortable and the bath towels were lovely, but it would have been good to have had hand towels as well. We would add that for what we paid for our week, this house is very good value.
