“My husband and I have just spent 4 days at The Stables.”

It is a beautiful, modern cottage and was exceptionally clean. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided (though we didn't use much of it!) and there was plenty of room throughout for the two of us to live comfortably. The owners were friendly, but not intrusive, and it was so peaceful on the farm. Excellent position for exploring the Peak District - we would certainly stay again

In fine weather, dine alfresco or stop and say hello to the owners’ pet donkeys and goats! The old village of Parwich is just a short distance from these Peak District cottages and has some beautiful old buildings and a super village pub. About the location

ASHBOURNE

Matlock 14 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th century, the town was a fashionable social centre and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by. Alton Towers is just 20 minutes away.
