Perfectly situated, had a nice comfortable stay everything we needed was catered for, the only thing they couldn’t provide was the weather unfortunately

  • "The house is in a great location close to all amenities and great pubs in Fishguard."

The beds are comfortable and the sheets and towels clean. There is an over bath shower and plenty of hot water. There is no designated parking for the property, but we never had any problems parking somewhere on the street outside the house during the time we were there. The kitchen is lacking some basic equipment if you are self catering, e.g. , baking dishes/trays, sieve, oven gloves, sharp knives and there were not enough glasses for 6. The fridge is very small and there is no freezer, definitely not big enough to store food for 6 (the number of guests the house accommodates). The oven and trays in it were very greasy. There was quite a lot of dust and hair under the bed I slept in. The general view of the other people I went with was that the bathroom could do with a bit of a refurbish around the bath.

Few things to mention Property needs a full length mirror, guest comments in the book at the cottage going back to 2021 all request full length mirror but not one provided, owner needs to listen to guests comments. Tv in bedroom only would tune to 1 channel, tried it downstairs in dining room still only showed bbc1.needs addressing.property could offer a stair gate . We did enjoy our stay but the issues above need addressing.i did ring sykes whilst i was there as was unclear if we could park in the space right outside the front door (no you cannot) and i mentioned the mirror.

Leak in bathroom appears to be a recurring feature of most reviews, as does lack of clear info re bin days and parking outside the door. Fix those three issues and it'd be 5 stars all round!

Thanks for your useful feedback. The bath panel has been removed and no leak was discovered. Guests must ensure the shower screen is aligned with the bath otherwise water will run onto the floor. The info pack has been updated with rubbish disposal information. Website has been updated to better explain parking. Property Owner

Need clarification about car parking in permit area; that said no problems parking in general. Recommend the Ship Inn in Lower Town!!!

  • "There is a leak from the bathtub top corner by the door."

The wood of the cover is already damaged and the water that come out runs down and created a puddle in front of the bathroom door. Odd smell in the living room which didn't go away even with opening the window regularly. Info about waste and recycling given are very poor. There are 2 bin and a brochure about the recycling in Pembrokeshire which mentions food bin, glass box and bags for paper and recycling but there is non of it at the property, so it's hard to know what to do with all the rubbish. Generally info pack is not great. No QR code to scan at the property for NHS track and trace as requested to do. Garden poorly maintained. Lots of weeds. No cushions for metal garden furniture either.

  • "It would have been good to have a blind over the the skylight window as it let a lot of light into the main bedroom."

The cottage can be quite cold so it would have been good to be able to put some type of heating on and this would have helped dry clothes that had been washed. I had not long had surgery on my knee so handles by both toilets would have been helpful. We struggled at bit with the bedroom TV as the picture sometimes broke up making it impossible to watch. Despite the above comments, the cottage was lovely and spotlessly clean. The carpentry was great and really quirky. I loved the fact that the owner had left 2 maps for people to use as well as the newspaper with tourist information. Loved Fishguard and the local people were very friendly and full of suggestions of good places to visit. Thank you for lovely accomodation.

  • "Cottage was so lovely and in a great position."

..right in the centre of Fishguard. Was great having the garden too as we brought out little dog with us. Having 2 toilets was really handy. However would benefit from a dressing table or chest of drawers in the master bedroom as had nowhere to put my makeup, hair dryer and straighteners. I had to put them on the window sill. Also the mirror was tiny and we were woken at 4.30am due to no blind on the velux window! We also struggled to park the car outside the property as it's residents/permits parking only. However managed to park opposite so we weren't too bothered. Other than that...we thought it was pretty amazing and can definitely recommend.

  • "Reviews mentioning the carpentry had me curious and we were not disappointed!"

The fascinating door features are an absolute delight, making this the most interesting and inspiring cottage we've stayed in. As well as being beautiful and stylish, Llety is well-equipped and cozy with very comfortable beds. The back garden got sun all day and on a clear night the stars were amazing. The back door needs some attention (I had great trouble unlocking it; I think it has dropped). Curtain linings would be appreciated, as would a blind for the bedroom Velux - sunlight had us all awake very early! The info folder needs an update: Ffwrn has closed down (a newer bakery, Nourish, was sold out of bread by 10:45am Saturday); and instructions are needed to help guests with recycling. The location is brilliant, being handy for shops and eateries while very tranquil, with lovely views and walks nearby. We really enjoyed this peaceful mini-break and may return to Llety (with sleep masks).

.. and couldn't have done better than this lovely cottage.” We were thrilled when we arrived, having thought it was probably mainly a 'non-improved' cottage, we discovered something that was very special indeed. Llety has been done up to a very high standard. The carpentry is very beautiful and the craftsmanship a delight.... look out for the 'lock' to the bathroom door! The downstairs bathroom is spacious and new... and having an upstairs loo a very important item on our 'wish-list'... yours too??? Don't miss the view from the back bedroom window of the hills. We really enjoyed eating with the open view of the garden.. even if it wasn't warm enough early March to use the facilities there. Close to shops and plenty of pubs, we ate at The Royal Oak, also 2 takeaways... the Chinese one being just down the road a little from the cottage. I'd worried about parking but we always found a place on the hill there.

Lots to see and do in the area. Farmers Market Thursday and Saturday at Town Hall. You should view the last invaders tapestry in the Town Hall. Good bus service from Square and believe this there is no charge on buses on Saturdays! The cottage was very quirky. Owner very fond of Ikea (as I am). Found the stairs difficult and wondered if this should be mentioned in the details. We were I think only the 2nd occupiers of the cottage and so found that some of the plumbing needed a little attention. Dripping tap in the main bathroom. Tap in kitchen sometimes difficult to use. Lovely comfortable bed. Very happy week. Did a bit of weeding in the garden which I enjoyed.

The property

Llety is a wonderful terraced cottage, just on the outskirts of Fishguard in Pembrokeshire, with plenty of character.

As you enter the property, you come to a tiled hallway with painted Welsh stone walls.

Through to the right, there is a lounge with seating for six and a gas fire, ideal for cosy nights in with the family.

Back to the walkway, take a small step down into the beautiful farm-style kitchen, featuring terracotta tiles, a large gas range oven and wooden topped cream units.

The dining area is just the other side of the kitchen and there is enough room around the table for six people.

From the dining room, open the patio doors and head out onto your own enclosed garden with views to the rear of the Preseli Hills.

As we walk back through the kitchen, there is a small utility space with a washing machine and dryer, which leads through to the bright and spacious family bathroom, with a large modern overhead rain shower and beautiful floor tiles.

Throughout the property, there are characteristic wooden features, which really give it a traditional cottage feel, although a lot of the amenities are modern and stylish.

As you head up the stairs, there are more traditional features including the character wooden staircase.

On the first floor, you first come to a twin bedroom which features a large wooden beam and looks out to distant views of the Preseli Mountains.

The second double bedroom is stylishly decorated with crisp white furniture, that contrasts beautifully against the dark wooden beams and feature fireplace.

The third room features a bunk bed and is simply decorated with white painted stone walls.

Upstairs also has a small toilet and basin.

Llety is in a fantastic location just a couple of minutes from the local shops, pubs, cafes and bars of Fishguard.

Situated in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park near to the Preseli Hills, explore this historic site and discover more about the notorious bluestones.

Heading a little further afield, you also have access to no less than five theme parks and popular destinations including Temby, St David’s, Solva as well as Cardigan, Newport and Wales nature reserves.

Llety is a fantastic family property with so much character tucked in to every nook and cranny.

The perfect base for exploring, you are sure to visit Llety again and again.
