  • "The cottage lived upto expectations."

It is a lovely cottage which was clean and well maintained. It was a really great place to spend a few days. The area was very quiet when we stayed, which we really enjoyed. The owners were great when we made a request of more towels. I would recommend the cottage to anyone.

Beautiful location. Peaceful...(till we got there) We had such a relaxing time and were lovely and warm . I need a walker to get about and the cottage is fully accessible, though a wheelchair might have a bit of a problem cos of some tight corners....please check. I think I mentioned last time that , being picky, I felt the pillows were a bit thin.....and this time, brand new lovely bouncy pillows. Really comfy beds and sofa. Great warm welcome.Thank you. One of our party said they wanted a bigger frying pan....but we are little piggies with our trotters in the trough much of the time....so you will probably find it all adequate. Definitely recommend Taf Cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay.

....lovely place. Very comfortable. We had a fab time. If I wanted to be picky I would say the pillows were a bit tired but actually considering that everything was so lovely and how comfy the beds are and the sofas ,I feel I shouldn't have said that. Very accessible for disabled, though possibly bit narrow for wheelchair and outside bit slippy for crutches. My walker was easy to get around the place. We were all of us, very happy indeed. Lovely walks...dip in the hot tub....lots of space, accessible bathrooms. Thank you.

Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped (under counter fridge with ice box a little small but manageable) and the hot tub was excellent. There’s a new walk-in shower in the main bathroom (replaced the bath in photos) which was a nice surprise and not an issue as we’d brought a baby bath with us. Muriel was very welcoming, kindly leaving us some wine and an Easter egg on arrival and was very helpful during our stay, with recommendations of places to visit and walks with the dog. We would recommend Brechfa forest walks, although the roads to the Keeper’s car park are very narrow! Aberglasney gardens are well worth a visit and the National Botanical gardens were also good, providing a week long ticket so you could revisit. The cottage is situated about 8 minutes from the A40, in peaceful countryside, so would recommend bringing key food supplies with you when you arrive. We found a good range of supermarkets in Carmarthen about 20 mins away. Lovely restful break with easy access to some stunning beaches about 30 mins away.

You share a courtyard with a few other rentals but we didn't see anyone else and the whole location is very quiet and relaxing. Lucky enough to have clear night for star gazing from the hot tub. Comfortable cottage and well equipped. Friendly owner who texted us to make sure we were all OK! One downside is the hot tub is on view of farm buildings, which were in use in the day. • "A really damp smell in the bathroom ,due to ill fitting(leaking) shower screen."

Somuch so that all of our belongings still have a musty smell to them. Also there were so many mosquitoes indoors ( which might have been caused by the damp) we got bit so many times that by the Tuesday night we’d made our minds up that we would go home. The bad weather coming in was also contributory but not the prime reason as we understand the weather cannot be guaranteed! The towels were starting to smell (despite having taken our own for the hot tub) as we were not given any hand towels. The lane approaching the cottage was very narrow and we were told that not much traffic used it but on lots of occasions we were forced to reverse(vehicles would continue to push at us, forcing us back)We should have been warned of this. In all, we were very disappointed. We paid £463.00 for Friday night -Wednesday morning so not a very good deal!

It was most disappointing and indeed disheartening to read your negative review regarding your stay at Taf cottage, which incidentally is completely at odds with other guests reviews. We do try and achieve the highest standards and best attention to our guests needs and it is a shame that you did not mention the shower screen issue during your stay as we could have pointed out that it must be closed with the flexible seal facing inwards to prevent seepage onto the bathroom floor. Living in the heart of the quiet countryside it is inevitable that one will encounter local wildlife around the cottages including badgers, foxes, bats, owls, field mice and a few midges at certain times of the year but neither we nor other guests have found them to be an issue. Unfortunately we can not control their movements any more than the prevailing weather nor those odd inconsiderate drivers you apparently encountered on your travels along the country lanes. It is unfortunate that all those things occurred to you during your short stay but honestly it is not a true reflection of the reality of country living particularly during the periods of glorious weather we have had this year. If you had not cut short your stay as you had already planned to do since arriving perhaps those couple of extra fine days following your departure may have changed your view. Property Owner
