  • "What a smashing stay we had."

The Rivendale was pure luxury, and had everything we could want. Excellent quality furniture, offering the best possible home comforts and more. We were welcomed with every little detail covered. Our pooch was made extremely welcome too, which is refreshing. The owner was so forgiving when we had to admit that we had by accident scooped up one of the doggie towels by mistake. What a lovely understanding lady. We had a fabulous week and couldn't fault this fantastic lodge - pure luxury. Thank you so so much. Tracey, Ron, Denise and Brillo !

Thank you for posting a lovely review and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed all of the home comforts of the lodge and felt we had covered every little detail :) Great to hear Brillo had a good holiday too and we always provide dog towels, throws, treats and bowls as we have holidayed with our dog in the past and know how important it is for the whole "family" to be welcomed. Thank you again. Property Owner

Spotlessly clean with a large outside area and everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a wooded area really close which is a great place to walk your dogs. The site is very quiet which was lovely in the evenings, If you want to have a relaxing holiday this is the place. Everyone we met onsite was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are really pleased you had a relaxing stay, found the lodge to have everything needed and made use of the woodland to walk the dogs. The garden area is a good place to sit and unwind when the weather is nice and handy for dogs because it is enclosed. We hope you can return in the future :) Thank you. Property Owner

  • "The Villa was lovely, other than a piece of pizza stuck to the back of a rack in the oven."

The site is not for holiday makers, most staying on site are residents and builders. The clubhouse we went to the first night had a few men inside that had obviously been drinking and the language was outrageous. We did not go back. Beautiful lodge in the wrong location. Graham

We are sorry that you found a piece of pizza stuck to the back of a rack in the oven as we take a lot of time personally cleaning the lodge after every guest and this must have been missed. As part of the park site licence every holiday home owner has to provide proof of a separate permanent residence but owners/family and holidaymakers can stay for up to 50 weeks of the year so many people stay for longer periods. We are sad to learn of your experience of the clubhouse on that occasion but are pleased you thought our lodge is beautiful and comfortable for your stay. Property Owner

Bit of a twist and turn to find property but once done you find your way around. One thing missing from property is an iron, had to buy one. I feel that an iron is an important item to be in property.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and we are really pleased to hear you thought the property was great. We provide guests all of our contact details and had you messaged or called us we would have been more than happy to call in with an iron Property Owner

Thank you for taking the time to write feedback and we are glad you thought the lodge was lovely and very clean. We both spend alot of time personally ensuring the lodge is kept clean before every check in. We are also pleased you utilised the maps we provide because we know the site can be difficult to navigate until you get used to it. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was fantastic but unfortunately the park was a shock & disappointment."

A majority of the caravans were privately owned & lived in permanently so a lot of the area was a mess & badly kept, also there was lack of signs & directions, the shop on site was very poor with next to no products & although the clubhouse was clean the staff were not welcoming & seemed to care more for the residents then the holiday makers.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. The Park is an owners only site whereby owners can holiday let or utilize their lodges and caravans themselves for holidays up to 50 weeks of the year. The Park has a new Manager who is currently in the process of ensuring pitch standards are raised and we have seen an improvement. The site isn't easy to navigate due to its woodland setting but we do provide maps both by email to guests before arrival and within the lodge itself so hope these were useful. The shop only provides very basic necessities but there is a further shop within walking distance/2 minute drive and Sainsbury's a 5 minute drive away. We are sorry to hear that you found the staff in the club house unwelcoming and have reported this to the Park Manager. Finally we are glad you thought the lodge was fantastic and hope you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a very pleasant stay in this high-end Lodge, which is well appointed & positioned."

Beauport Park is a bit of a rabbit-warren to find your way around, but this is a function of it's secluded hillside location, and the fact that this lodge is at the far end of the park means the seclusion is good and you are near to a good dog walk. You'll need to follow the instructions provided to locate the place until you get used to it. The owners are obviously very "pro dog", & provide towels, bowls & even treats for your pet, & it's pleasing to find such a nice lodge which is also dog friendly. All in all a great place to stay on a pleasant park with good facilities.

Thank you for taking the time to review the lodge. The Park is quite different to a lot of parks with it's hillside and woodland setting and we are glad you enjoyed the seclusion and dog walks. We have holidayed with our dog in the past and know how difficult it can be to find good quality pet friendly accommodation so are delighted to hear we are getting this right for others to enjoy :) Thank you. • "This is a lovely lodge which has been tastefully decorated and is immaculately kept up together."

The lodge is very homely and the beds and sofas very comfortable. Two things which were unusual and we particularly liked were the sun room and separate utility room. One thing that either wasn't obvious from the listing or we didn't pick up on, is that the lodge is at the bottom of a large very steep holiday park and walking up to the clubhouse (which seemed to be shut most of the time we were there) and seasonal outdoor pool is a real effort! The site is very meandering and if you haven't got a good sense of direction it is easy to get lost - although the owners have a plentiful supply of site maps. This meandering affect with properties dotted amongst the trees means you are amongst nature and we regularly had squirrels hopping across the garden and along the fence which was lovely. The owners clearly care about making their guests stay easy. Sam contacted us a couple of days before with a personal message and instructions for finding the place and key details. And also during the stay to warn us of local area maintenance which could affect the tv signal. All in all a good base for visiting the area as close to Battle and Hastings and a short drive to Rye, Bexhill and Bodium. If we visit the area again we have no hesitation in going back.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such positive feedback and we are glad you enjoyed your stay and made additional use of the sun room and utility room too! Thank you for your note about the clubhouse (apparently they were closed one day and winter hours are slightly different), we have now put opening hours within our guest information folder within the lodge to help with this. We have also asked Sykes to make a note within the details that the lodge is on a hill. The site is meandering and perfect for dog walkers and nature lovers and we are pleased you utilised our maps :) We would be delighted to see you again if you return to visit the area. About the location

HASTINGS

Battle 6 miles; Rye 12 miles.

The large historic town of Hastings offers a great mix of interesting places to visit, and is comprised of three parts, joined by the promenade. On one side is the Old Town, with narrow streets or 'twittens', attractive houses, Shipwreck and Fisherman's museums, wonderful tall black net huts, a fresh fish market, seafood restaurants and cafés. In the middle there is a contemporary shopping centre and on the other side is St Leonards on Sea with its fashionable Norman Road with antique and vintage shops, art galleries, examples of Burton's architecture (of Kew Gardens and London Zoo fame), Marine Court Art Deco flats designed in the shape of the HMS Queen Mary, and the remains of the Amsterdam, which is visible at low tide at Bulverhythe. West Hill in Hastings is home to the Smugglers Adventure and Pelham Beach, and East Hill offers the Hastings Country Park, 660 acres of ancient woodlands, grasslands and heathlands crossing five miles over cliffs and rugged terrain, plus East Hill can also be reached by taking the 'lift', the steepest funicular railway in Britain. Whilst exploring Hastings, visit The Stade and watch fishermen land their catch, plus why not take a trip to Blue Reef Aquarium and the remains of Hastings Castle? Pevensey Castle, dating from the 4th century, and the first Norman Church are twelve miles away. Further afield enjoy the NT properties of Bodiam Castle, Sissinghurst and Scotney Castle, the cinque port of Rye, the abbey at Battle or the beach and dunes at Camber Sands.
