The charming village is situated at the confluence of the rivers Tanat and Eirth, at the foot of the Militir Cerrig Mountain Pass towards the southern end of the Berwyn Range. The village itself offers two pubs, with the neighbouring town of Bala providing a handful of pubs, cafes and small shops for you to explore. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also head out onto the lake and indulge in some action-packed water sports. The landscape around Llangynog is often referred to as the 'Welsh Lake District' with the lakes Vyrnwy, Celyn and Bala (also known as Llyn Tegid) very close by. One of the Seven Wonders of Wales, the Rhaeadr Falls (or Pistyll Rhaeadr), is within easy access of Llangynog.
