If you're after a Beatrix Potter adventure on your next holiday to the Lake District, or simply wish to indulge in some of the most beautiful countryside the UK has to offer, then a trip to Near & Far Sawrey certainly won't disappoint.

Just a short distance from Hawkshead and Windermere, you'll find the small hamlets of Near Sawrey and Far Sawrey. Near Sawrey was made famous after Beatrix Potter fell in love with the area, buying Hill Top Farm in 1905. Beatrix's inspiration for Peter Rabbit and her series of short tales came from the magnificent countryside that can be found in this beautiful spot in the Lakes. Hill Top Farm is now run by the National Trust and is open to the public, telling the story of this famous author's life. Moss Eccles Tarn is just a short walk from Near Sawrey and is a beautiful spot to head to if you want to see Mother Nature at her finest. Moss Eccles Tarn was one of Beatrix's favourite spots, where she would spend hours fishing.
