The route begins in the cultural hub of the North, Inverness.
This city lies on the banks of the River Ness, a stone's throw
from the renowned Loch
Ness. It offers a number of fantastic eateries and shops, as
well as a gallery, museum and theatre. The route then passes on
along the North East Coast, passing through the towns of Ullapool
and Torridon, then up to the highest points of Scotland. After
passing through Caithness and John O' Groats, the route heads
southwards through Dingwall, eventually returning in Inverness.
Along the North Coast 500 you will encounter distilleries, golf
courses, haunted ruins, castles straight out of a fairy tale,
beautiful beaches as well as a variety of sea and bird life. Feel
