Our Borth self-catering accommodation is not to be missed; whether you're planning a trip for two, or a getaway with the family, this destination is a marvellous centre for sailing holidays and water-sport pursuits.

Why a Borth holiday cottage?

Golden sands grace Borth's award-winning beach, the longest in Ceredigion with a shallow gradient, making it especially popular with younger children and sailboard enthusiasts. The tide goes out a long way, and its shallow waters are ideal for the little ones to paddle in. For something different, a golf course, pubs and a cinema provide an alternative day out, while nearby Snowdonia is filled with opportunity. Aberystwyth's castle ruins and cliff-top railway are worth a visit, along with delightful Aberdovey, the Celtic History Museum, and the Talyllyn narrow gauge steam railway. A haven of breath-taking scenery, you'll find plenty of things to do in Mid Wales - make use of our Brecon Beacons Travel Guide for more inspiration.

Places to visit near Borth

Venture away from your Borth accommodation to visit the surrounding towns and villages bursting with attractions. Northeast of our Borth cottages is the town of Machynlleth, host to the annual Machynlleth Comedy Festival held on the May bank holiday, also home to MOMA Machynlleth museum showcasing modern art within a Victorian townhouse. Aberystwyth Castle was a 13th century fortress, now ruins and a beautiful park perfect for strolling around on a warm afternoon. For the active, try mountain biking on the excellent trails in Coed y Brenin Forest Park in Dolgellau, or enjoy taking on the challenge of the Welsh mountains and fells in the Snowdonia National Park just north of Borth. Beautiful golden sands and beachfront cafes and restaurants can be found in Barmouth, while over in Tywyn visit the quaint 19th century Magic Lantern Cinema to see a latest release or a classic re-run.
