"Great Holiday stay whilst touring Northern Scotland, the weather was good."
Thank you N.T. and staff most welcoming and the Welcome pack was much appreciated. Extremely well equipped and clean with friendly Managers on hand for advice e.g. bin day, bedding and towels for departure. Thanks
Many thanks for your kind words. Property Owner

"This was a lovely, well-maintained property and not only was its location, within a castle, very unique and interesting, but it also made a good base for exploring the rest of the local area."
You have the freedom of the estate for walks and leisure.

"Excellent! We would stay again."
Lovely location, the castle wing exceeded our expectations!
-
"All round excellent accommodation."
Castle Fraser and the surrounding grounds are a lovely setting for a great holiday and all National Trust staff there were very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to coming back in the near future!
Many thanks for your lovely comments, Castle Fraser is in a great location for visiting all the properties in the North East. Glad you loved living in a castle for your holidays. Property Owner

"Fabulous location - step outside and you feel it's your castle."
Walk in the grounds, or just gaze at the turrets. Spacious inside. Well equipped kitchen. Kitchen & sitting room could do with more light; bedroom level is lovely. Comfy, spacious double bed. Quiet - except the dawn chorus! Five minutes to Kemnay for provisions.

"Castle Fraser is not only a beautiful set of buildings, grounds and gardens - it is also full of the history and stories of an incredible family."
The NTS team are so friendly and enthusiastic that the collectibles, furniture and family history jump off the page and you can feel like you are right in the midst of the old days.

"All we could have asked for is a little more hot water to fill the « royal » bath."
The quietness and the beauty of the estate will remain in our best travel memories!
Thank you very much for your kind comments. Property Owner

"Amazing place to stay, we felt like the lord and lady!"
There was a lovely welcome basket and the accommodation had everything that we needed. Lovely walks around the grounds and further afield on the two marked trails. The guides on the tour of the castle were knowledgeable and helpful. Loads of places to visit around the area and luckily we were blessed with great weather. We have now returned home and are recharging our batteries after such a busy holiday.Highly recommended.

"We really enjoyed our stay - the only downside was not being able to access the walled garden out of hours."
Thank you for your feedback and great to read you enjoyed your stay at Castle Fraser. Unfortunately we have to lock the garden overnight to the general public as we have had some items gone missing. It is open during the day - 7 days a week all year round. Property Owner

"Overall a clean and well presented apartment in an interesting castle with a beautiful garden and extensive grounds."
A few things that could be improved are: replace or resurface the bath, have a bin in the bathroom, and provide bin bags that fit the kitchen waste bin.
Many thanks for your feedback, we do welcome any feedback that can help us improve our guests stay. Property Owner

"The property was perfect for our needs."
Its in the East wing of the Castle and there is plenty of room for four persons. The kitchen is well equipped and again roomy. The living room/ diner is comfortable and I would think on colder weeks would be very cosy. The beds are very good although we only used the double and I got the best nights sleep for a long time. Five star.
Many thanks for the great feedback, we hope to welcome you back to Castle Fraser or one of the other NTS cottages. Property Owner

"Absolutely fantastic stay, lovely facilities and location."
Welcome basket was lovely, castle was surprisingly warm! Great value for money and will definitely recommend to others. The free castle tour was good, the National Trust volunteers and staff, as always, were informative and helpful. Great family staycation!

"A lovely stay at east wing."
Everything was provided for a comfortable week.it was so clean. The complimentary basket was a lovely touch and most welcome, the Christmas tree was an added bonus as our stay was over the new year period. The grounds are fantastic to walk around and we saw deer one morning, unfortunately the castle was closed so we couldn’t visit which was shame. The bed a little soft but still slept well. And maybe a long mirror in the bedrooms would be handy. We would definitely stay again if we visited the area at a later date. A lovely start to 2023.
Many thanks for your lovely comments about your stay at Castle Fraser and we have made sure that the team at the castle have seen them. It would be lovely to welcome you back to Castle Fraser or any of our other holiday cottages. Property Owner

"The directions given for arriving at Castle Fraser East Wing were very good."
Car parking close to the accommodation was good. Access to the the house key was easy. The welcome food basket with milk and soft drinks in the fridge was a very warm and friendly gesture. The accommodation and equipment was well furnished, clean, and of good quality. Three issues could be improved on. Lighting in the lounge was inadequate, a clear notice in the entrance hall to remove your shoes when you first arrive, and we considered the double bed mattress to be too soft. Our overall impression would encourage us to return for another short break.
Many thanks for your kind feedback about your stay at the East Wing. We have noted your comments about the lighting in the lounge which we are sure can be sorted out. The bed is new and it is difficult to know what level of firmness to buy as everyone has a preference. One person may think a bed is too firm whilst other guests may feel it is soft. Property Owner

"The East Wing of Castle Frazer was really very good."
we have stayed in many National Trust properties over the years, and this "Cottage in the Castle" was one of the best. The National Trust of Scotland staff did themselves proud with the standard shown. Excellent
Many thanks for you very kind words about the East Wing at Castle Fraser. The East Wing is one of our new properties brought on in 2022. We will certainly pass on your comments to our property team at Castle Fraser as they worked very hard on the refurbishment. Property Owner

"We had a wonderful time staying at Castle Fraser."
The East Wing was very clean and comfortable with everything we could need. There was even a lovely basket of goodies left for our arrival. Thank you. The only issue was the cold water tap often ran hot so we bought bottles of drinking water. However, as this was a castle we didn’t mind too much! The grounds and walled garden are just beautiful and so well maintained. The staff in the castle were so friendly and knowledgeable, telling us lots of history about the castle. Also, the staff in the tea room were lovely too. We would highly recommend a stay here and would love to come back one day.
Many thanks for your very kind words about your stay at East Wing Castle Fraser. We have investigated the problem with the cold water tap. The water passes through a UV filter before it comes out of the tap and does heat it , then it does run cold after the first wee while. Property Owner
