"We had a great stay at this cottage."
Just the right size for two. Very clean and everything you wanted was there. The area is amazing so much to see. We will be going back to explore more places.
"The cottage was what we expected , ideal for the quiet relaxing holiday we were looking for ."
Loved seeing all the wild life around cottage and playing tick with the pheasants and partridge in the country lane . Sat nav took us directly the property which was a plus after a long drive . We spent two weeks finding all the hidden gems in the area , great place as a base to see Angus . We really enjoyed the holiday thank you .
"Post code brought me almost to the doorstep !"
A spacious property for two people, lots of extra's including a bottle of red. Good location for nearby Kirriemuir, shops, pub, fuel station. Peace and quiet a plenty.
"A lovely quiet cottage set in a beautiful surrounding."
The bed was so comfortable, we wanted to take it home!
"If you are looking for pubs, theatre, large towns with lots of facilities this is not for you however if like us you are looking for accommodation that is spotlessly clean quiet and friendly this is the cottage you need."
This cottage was comfortable with outstanding views. We arrived to find coffee, tea, milk, sugar biscuits and chocolates even a bottle of wine, the log burner was the icing on the cake. Thank you for a super place to relax and lay our head .

"A warm comfortable cottage in a lovely location."
So much was provided, we felt very welcome.

"We loved the little cottage and it's location, lovely and quiet and a really dark sky, amazing for looking at the stars."
The ducks made an additional smile to our faces. I only have one small niggle and that is the bathroom is very cramped, hardly any room when using the loo and I also feel they would benefit from a walk in shower, rather than one over the bath. Quite difficult to get in and out (being an older lady). Overall very nice and the people seemed really nice. Thanks.
Thanks for your feedback and delighted that you enjoyed the peace and quiet and were able to explore the night sky during your stay. The bathroom might not be the largest however it is the size that it is...we unfortunately can't make it any larger which is the reason for not trying to add a walk in shower. The shower over the bath is the most practical solution for now. Property Owner
"Gardener’s Cottage was the perfect location for getting away from it all, while still being close enough to the local amenities."
Bright, fresh, clean and welcoming from the start. And the most comfortable bed ever.
Thank you for your review. Delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that you found the bed to be comfortable. Property Owner
"My partner and I really enjoyed our time at this cottage."
The setting was just what we wanted, far away from the bustle of city life amongst a working farm. We couldn't of asked for anything more. With good facilities, we'd readily recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway.

"This listing does not live up to its description."
It is a cold, unwelcoming place where the heating is insufficient in every respect. Cold floors, draughty windows, a lack of insulation in this outbuilding lead to it having an unaired, abandoned feel and certainly not suitable for a winter break. It can be found up about a mile up the farm track, with a dark, dense wooded view from the kitchen and a view of the back of a farmhouse from the front. There is no name on the cottage which stands next to a delapidated greenhouse with sharp glass which has been allowed to cave in and stay where it fell. We left after 2 nights because the bed was so horribly and unbelievably cold. We left the heating on all day on our second day but the building retains no warmth at all. The minute the heating goes off, it becomes cold again. There is insufficient lighting in the lounge/diner for reading which is not cosy, even with a log fire. The owners had kitted out the kitchen well and left eggs as a welcome gesture which was nice but even the black , windowless bathroom was quite depressing. We did not contact the owners before we left as there is nothing they could have done to improve things for us. Sykes' representative's naïve comment that we should have talked to them first so that they could have turned up the thermostat showed a lack of understanding of the severity of our issues. We have both lived in a rural setting in the north of England and are used to inclement , winter weather. We have been Sykes customers for over 20 years and have always had a good experience. This means we will not be booking our next holiday with Sykes.
Disappointed to read this feedback, particularly as, as you mentioned in your feedback you did not attempt to make any contact with us during your stay. I am surprised to read that you were cold when the log basket was almost full when you left, indicating that you had not used the stove to provide you with additional heating which would of course have created a cosy environment. The greenhouse is within the farmhouse garden and is not a part of Gardeners Cottage. Unfortunately our green house has been totally destroyed in the recent storm and as we have endured other damage to farm buildings and trees we have not yet had time to remove it. This is a priority for us and it will be removed as soon as possible. It certainly has not been left to "cave in". As per the description this is a traditional cottage in a rural location. From the feedback you have given, it sounds like this is perhaps not what you were looking for. Property Owner

Kirriemuir is a lovely red sandstone town in the valley of Strathmore, regarded as the gateway to the Angus Glens, which offer some of Scotland's most unspoiled landscape. The town is home to the birthplace of novelist JM Barrie, creator of the much-loved children's character Peter Pan and the house is now a museum looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. A statue of Peter Pan can be found in the town. Kirriemuir also offers Glamis Castle and the historic Pictish Stones at Meigle, while the Angus Glens offer great hill walking and climbing. With a fine variety of shops, hotels and pubs in the town and surrounding area, there is something here to suit all tastes.
