  • "This is a stunning property in a beautiful location with an abundance of wildlife on its doorstep."

The personal touches by the owners made this holiday one of the best we have had.

Thank you so much Marion and all your family for your kind words. It's truly lovely to give our guests such a great time. Holidays are so important to everyone. Glad you saw the pine martens and babies so many times during your week. Enjoy the rest of the year , stay safe, and happy gardening ! Best wishes Simon and Lynne Property Owner

  • "My husband and I and little spaniel have just enjoyed a fantastic week in Culreach."

The house is perfect, spacious, clean, cosy and with everything you could want. It's set in an ideal location, peaceful, but close to anything you might need. Plenty of nearby walks too. The wildlife constantly entertained us, the huge amount of different birds, we had red squirrels coming to the feeders and most exciting of all was the frequent visits from pine martens, sometimes two at a time. The welcome basket was amazing, home baking, jams and lemon curd, we were blown away by it and even had some left to bring home! Thank you so much Lynne and Simon, it was great to meet you both and spend such a happy week in your cottage you have really thought of everything to make the cottage home from home.

Thanks Christine and Paul for your extremely kind comments. You are very welcome. We are delighted that you had such a brilliant week and found everything as close to perfection as we could get it! Kindest regards and very best wishes to you both . Simon and Lynne Property Owner

It is also a lovely place to relax in the garden and watch the wildlife. We were lucky to have regular pine marten visitors. Absolutely brilliant for dogs, totally secure and safe for dogs of all sizes, big and small there is no escape route! We have a large GSD who enjoyed the space and freedom to run around in the beautiful large garden. With woodland forest walks directly behind the cottage it truly is doggie Heaven! The cottage has everything you could possibly need. The owners have thought of everything. Culreach is clean, comfortable, cosy and very warm. Its so well cared for, home from home. Its amazing and very entertaining to watch all the variety of birds and the red squirrels who visit the well stocked feeders and bird table! Just lovely. Wildlife in abundance. The welcome basket was beyond anything we have had before. Outstanding. A beautiful display of Easter decorated cup cakes, scones and cream, homemade sausage rolls, cookies and a variety of home made jams. Oh and a bowl of chocolates as well as coffee, milk and tea. The owners Lynne and Simon are lovely people, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Culreach is a great base for visiting many places, if you can drag yourself away from this beautiful cottage! Thankyou Lynne and Simon, we will be back.

It’s in a fabulous location - close to amenities but peaceful and very quiet. The highlight for us was the constant visitors to the bird table (including two woodpeckers) who kept us entertained! The view from the lodge is fabulous - we had snow during our stay which added to the beauty. Lynn (the owner) provided a goodie basket for us which was just delicious. The lodge is extremely comfortable and very warm. You really could just spend your time watching the wildlife - the hours would fly by! There are woods at the back of the property which we were allowed to walk in. We decided to have a walk in the woods at night which was eerie and beautiful (looking at the stars through the trees). The cafe at Nethy Bridge is very welcoming to visitors and the cakes are delicious. We genuinely did not want to leave the lodge. Highly recommended - go ahead and book, you will not be disappointed!

  • "The most wonderful accommodation in the most beautiful setting."

The property is set back from the road surrounded by lawns, trees and shrubs, a secluded paradise in our opinion. There are forest walks in every direction. The lobby as you enter is a great space for taking off muddy boots and drying the dog if you have one. The washing machine and dryer are also there so no noise in the living area. The living area is open plan so is a very sociable and spacious space. The log burner is a great size, easy to light and keeps the whole place cosy, the starter basket of logs is huge. The bedrooms are all spacious with large mirrored wardrobe's (2 with dressing tables incorporated) and super comfy huge beds. I bedroom has an en suite, but we chose the bedroom with the bird feeder outside of the window. The property is spotlessly clean and everything you could imagine is provided. This is by far the best property we have stayed in and we have already booked to go back. Lynne and Simon are wonderful hosts and really do go above and beyond to make you feel special and to make sure you have the best holiday, the welcome pack is absolutely delicious, such a treat after an 11 hour drive. Like us Lynne and Simon are wildlife lovers and the bird feeders were full, Lynne had even made a fat cake for the bird table and boy do they get eaten quickly. We saw so many birds, long tailed tits, blue tits, coal tits, woodpeckers, Robins, blackbirds the list goes on, also red squirrels and even a Pine Martin. We felt very lucky. Absolutely 12 out of 10 from us.

). The Lodge is in a beautiful, quiet area with spacious grounds which allowed our two dogs to run around and enjoy also. Lots of visiting birds in the garden and a huge woodland to the rear of the property to explore too (but beware of the Ticks on your dogs that were prevelant around the bracken at that time we went!). The lodge has been recently refurbished with modern fittings, a real home from home feel with pretty much everything we needed which made for a memorable and enjoyable stay. A small magnified make up mirror at the dressing table would have been useful (for the shortsighted like me!) but there was plenty of large mirrors to use and it wasn't a necessity. The bed was super comfy and the shower was a good pressure with an adjustable temperature. We were 5 minutes by car to Nethy Bridge, 10 minutes to Grantown-on-Spey and 25 minutes to the larger town of Aviemore. Lots to explore around the area and beyond and we used the A-Z atlas of Scotland that Lynne & Simon had left amongst other literature to use whilst staying there. On returning later at night after long days out, it was difficult to locate the entrance without any lights or reflectors on the gate but we judged it right most of the time and only missed the turning on one occasion!

Moving into the well-thought out and open-plan living space, there is a well-equipped kitchen area so guests can rustle up an evening meal to enjoy round the dining table as they toast to a wonderful trip, or make a quick breakfast and enjoy at the breakfast bar before a long day ahead.

There is a sitting area, with a gorgeous woodburning stove and plenty of sofa space, so choose your spot, grab some popcorn and flick on the Smart TV, where you can enjoy your favourite Netflix shows as you rest after a long day in the countryside.

When the evening draws to a close, head down the corridor where there are two stylish super-king-size bedrooms, which can be changed to a twin set up to offer flexible sleeping arrangements, both offer plenty of storage and a quirky dressing table hidden behind one of the mirrored wardrobe doors.

There is also a bathroom where guests can relax in the bath, and maybe even add some bubbles, or take a quick shower before heading out for the day.

To finish the property there is another flexible bedroom which is super-king-size and can be made into a twin on request, offering scenic views out to the woodland where you may be lucky enough to spot red squirrel, as well as an en-suite shower room so you can get ready in peace and style!
