"We left after staying only half of our paid for days."
The home had previous dog hair on kitchen cushions and laundry did not smell clean. The bed was quite uncomfortable and the home was cold.
"We had a great week but found 18’ a bit chilly in the evenings ."
. prob because we live in the south of England and it’s warmer here .. a lovely peaceful and comfortable place to stay and very well equipped throughout Sue Warner
First impression Quaint. Facilities everything you needed for your stay . Lovely quiet location to chill and relax . Plenty of places to visit We found Peterhead prison, Fraserburgh Lighthouse and Fyvie Castle really interesting, we also got to see the dolphins at the lighthouse . On the downside externally the grounds don’t look maintained there are weeds around the house and the foliage around the cottage has overtaken the front of the house , takes away the beauty of the cottage , guttering is full of debris and when we had a heavy downpour the kitchen was flooded came in through the back door . Sky light in the kitchen is cracked and water dripped through on to the table . Smoke alarms are not in working order , some light bulbs do not work and have not been replaced . The building facing the cottage which is named The Pub was not fit for purpose as per the pictures table tennis and pool ( which we was looking forward to using) it had birds in there and every where was full of bird poop, so we could not use it not fit for purpose ( we did mention this to the owner and he swept it ) but you could not use it as there was still poop everywhere .Cleaning needs attention to detail all light sockets were dirty on top, bathroom taps were grimy around the base , the kitchen sink was dirty just needed a bit of elbow grease to clean . Some of the glasses which were once a set of four have not been replaced for example only three wine glasses . There were leaflets available for sight seeing suggestions but it would be nice to see a sightseeing recommendation book , the visitors book was full so unable to leave our feedback . Lastly we met the owners briefly on our way out one day seemed very nice , downside was we phoned them twice to discuss a couple of issues our calls were not returned a bit disappointing. Overall the cottage is in a good location just needs some TLC .
"Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it was cosy, comfortable and homely."
Loved the hot tub. Jamie and Mimi called to make sure everything was ok, no complaints from us at all. We will be back, possibly with friends and book the Orangery and Milltown House together.
"Beautiful rustic converted farmhouse in the middle of nowhere."
No problems with the hot water as has been mentioned in some of the older reviews.
"We arrived late in the evening and found the property hard to find even though we had previously looked on Google earth."
The courtyard light was not on/working and we were not sure which was the right property. Once inside we were delighted with the quirkyness of the place. My two teenage granddaughters loved the mezzanine and adopted it as their own space. The beds were very comfortable. I noted in previous reviews that there were complaints about the shower running out of hot water but we didn’t find this to be a problem. The girls also loved the games room “pub” and of course the hot tub. There are many lovely walks and places round about but our favourite place was the beach between Banff and Whitehills. Long flat sandy beach interspersed with many interesting rock pools. We had a great time and every one enjoyed themselves. Thank you.
"The photos don't do it justice."
It's light and spacious. Well maintained and clean. The owners are lovely and are just ever a call away.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we really appreciate it. Property Owner
"We had a lovely stay at Milltown House I dont understand the negative review."
Jamie, the owner, was available if there was a problem.Hot water for the shower was plentiful. We enjoyed the wood burning fire, the hot tub and the games room.Very comfortable beds.Lovely area to explore.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback, we really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Milltown. Property Owner
"Although the cottage is located in a beautiful setting the outside area was shabby and lacking table and chairs as shown in the listing, inside the property whilst the Kitchen was well equipped and the bed clean and extremely comfortable the overall cleanliness was poor ie dead flies and insects under towel rail in bedroom and washbasin pedestal filthy and grime all around taps."
Our biggest gripe would be the lack of hot water for showering Luke warm at its best and only one person could shower before it ran cold. The central heating was non existent in the lounge and Kitchen due to radiators failing to get hot although they worked well in the hall and bedroom.we were having to light the wood burner every day to be able to enjoy a comfortable evening this was an added cost as logs were chargeable. Overall we enjoyed our time there. With some TLC and maintenance carried out it could have been delightful. We would like to have at least come across the owners at some point during our stay. Once at home we read other reviews and it would appear that the heating and hot water situation has been brought up several times before and not been resolved.
Firstly, we would like to send our sincere apologies that the property was not at standard. We have now had a change of cleaning company and addressed the issues you mentioned. We are disappointed in the heating and hot water issues as only a reset button was needed to resolve the problem. We have our contact details in the welcome pack and would gladly come to assist our guests with any issues, concerns, or queries. Again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused you during your stay. Property Owner
"Quiet, spacious barn with good outside space."
Location is good for exploring both the nearby coast and countryside. The property could do with a bit of updating and tlc and the location of the freezer and washing machine is not user friendly. We also had issues with the hot water which was only just hot enough for one shower. The bedrooms were cosy and the beds very comfortable. In summary we enjoyed exploring the area but would not return to this property.
Thank you for your feedback. We would like to apologise for the hot water issue and the inconvenience this has caused you during your stay, this has now been resolved and we are currently working on upgrades at the property. Property Owner
"Well I would just like to say that this is our second time at mill town house so that for starters the first time we came was in August 2018 ish and then it was the best place we had ever stayed at just in the sense that its what we wanted it had everything we wanted so we decided this time we would have a whole 2 weeks over the Christmas and New year period and again it did not fale to give us what we wanted piece and quite after a long year working many hours I've come back home feeling ready to rock and roll again the owner Jamie is one top bloke and and always will to get ya all you need so YES I definitely recommend milltown house ."
The only things that samed different was that the hot water for the shower not last to long but probably easerly sorted and just one more thing is as a lover of cooking when we first stopped hear their was any amount of stuff in the kitchen to use but this time it all sames to have disappeared but thats just miner details and has not stopped me booking my next stop hear can't wait
Thank you for your feedback We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We would like to apologise for the hot water issue and also take the time to let you know that this has now been resolved. Thank you for mentioning the kitchen needed more so the cooking and backing lovers can enjoy their time at the property. We have now made sure the kitchen is ready for everyone to enjoy. Had a great week and would definitely be booking again relaxed for the week log burner was great as well as the log burning hot tub
Thank you for the great feedback, it's much appreciated. Property Owner
"Love this place ."
Beds super comfy. Not to far from some spectacular day trips. Scottish coast is stunning. !!! Location superb .
"Firstly a great location and a very nice ( and quirky !"
) place to stay, and would recommend. Great enclosed courtyard for the dog and for us to sit out in, and the games room (pool & ping pong) were great. Useful forest track nearby to take dog out in morning and evening. We did enjoy our stay. Very close to the coast. However, get a feeling that this place is a wee bit tired with some minor issues. The wetroom had no place to put towels or toiletries, and there was no toilet roll holder ( though it looks like there was one before): it doesn't quite match the photo. Heating was great, but hot water only just hot enough for shower ( with it on max) - especially in such a big room. Kitchen was well equipped (cooker looked new), but a couple of baking trays would have been useful. Wood burning stove was a bit dodgy, but useable, as door won't lock closed ( we use one at home, so we are familiar with them): this was reported to the owner. However plenty of wood. Some light bulbs were out and missing in some places which made living room a bit dark as plants outside windows were covering them. Internet was intermittent ( e.g. all our devices reported "Connected, but no Internet" several times during the week), though I suspect that is more the rural location: ended up using quite a bit of 4G mobile data. The games room was really a good and welcome addition and a place to chill in the evenings, but could have done with more lighting and more than one decent pool cue ( and some chalk !), but it was fun, as was the ping pong. I wish more places had something like that. Overall, though, not bad at all - and recommended !
Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate the comments. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the property. We have addressed the issues you mentioned and hopefully will see you again. Property Owner
"Although we had a great time in millton there was a few things we would like to recommend, 1."
Shelf in bathroom to hold toiletries 2. A angled or corner bracket for the TV quite hard to see television from all seats. 3. Toilet roll holder.
"Milltown house provided a rustic, warm and cosy Scottish holiday."
We loved the cottage, it was well stocked and the owners were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend
Thank you for the great feedback. Glad you enjoyed the property and its rustic charm. Property Owner
"The accommodation was perfect, the location (particularly how rural it was) was perfect."
We loved the hot tub and the wood burning stove, the owner and the caretaker (sorry if that's the wrong title) we're lovely and really helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

The first 5 days we had no WiFi, on the 2nd day we realised that the hot tub was not working and has only worked correctly on one occasion since we have been here, very disappointed as paid a premium due to having a hot tub,
"We wanted a place that would give us a peaceful, quiet and relaxing holiday, ..."
We wanted a place that would give us a peaceful, quiet and relaxing holiday, this ticked all the boxes, plus we were nice and central to drive to any place
"Turriff and Aberdeenshire really is the most wonderful area to explore, you have everything within reasonable travelling distance, but you do need your own transport."
There are beaches, forests, castles, distilleries, you name it we have it. This property was as lovely as it looks and a great place to chill out. Jamie, who owns it, plus his own farm and glamping units was a great host, totally recommend it. We will certainly book it again.
"Had a lovely relaxing time walking and swimming locally and soothing our joints in the hot tub afterwards."
The Property is so comfy and homely but clean and well looked after and Jamie the owner is friendly, chatty and really helpful. We will be back!!

The cottage is excellent and the owner is always available to help, with regular check ins to ensure everything is okay and providing wood for the fire
"We had a lovely weeks visit up to Milltown House from 24th to 31st of October 2020."
The cottage is exactly what I was expecting - quirky, cosy and welcoming. There is a wood burner to keep you warm in the evenings, which I (Greg) thoroughly enjoyed lighting and stoking each night - who needs a tele! There was a fantastic Hot Tub which our wee boy loved, even if the two adults didn't quite get to "relax" in it, it was a much appreciated bonus to the property. The beds were comfy, and the absolute silence from being so remote was well needed. The Cottage is situated in a brilliant Rural area, with access to local villages/towns with plenty of outdoors-y things to do. We went up to Banff and MacDuff, as well as down to Haddo House Country Park near Methlick, the latter of which is stunning with a great park for kids. Also nearby is Turriff, where we would nip to for bits and bobs at the local Tesco. We had dinner in Turriff a couple of nights and would highly recommend "The Rustic Grill", it was probably the best meal my partner and I have ever had. If you fancy a chippy, we would recommend Dolphin Fish and Chips in MacDuff, again in our top 3 chip shops ever visited. Jamie, the owner, is delightful and couldn't do more to make his guests feel at home. My parents visited us and stayed at his wigwams which are lovely too. The only comment I would leave for improvement is attention to detail in the cleanliness - the house overall was clean, but there was thick dust in some places and the ping pong table needed sorting out. Overall, a lovely visit and we would definitely come back - and probably book out his adjacent cottage "The Orangery" too!!
"Absolutely stunning wee cottage, so full of character and charm."
Really clean and comfortable. Jamie is really nice and can’t do enough and was really friendly. The location is just stunning and so peaceful and quite. Would not only recommend to everyone but we have already booked again for summer!
"A perfect, peaceful and full of charactor & charm."
Milltown House is excellently located for exploring the numerous castles and coastline. Many great walks along the coast and so many places to explore. The owner Jamie came over to see us both the day after we arrived and towards the latter end to ensure all was ok and passed on some very good knowledge of the area. A very likeable and great host. The house has an external 'games room' with a ping pong table which we had some laughs playing. Some lovely evenings in the cosy lounge with the wood burner or in the hot tub under the stars. Would definately recommend the accommodation, the location and always good to have faith in the owner.
"A lovely peaceful comfortable cottage so close to nature as it backs on to some forest and also arable land , walks from the door and then if we wanted to travel it was not far to the north and east coasts of Aberdeenshire ."
So much to see inland too. Great cottage , everything you would need. As warm as you want it , spacious , clean and tidy. Jamie The owner was very helpful and checked we were ok and left us to it really . Would definitely recommend and we will be back .
"Fantastic location fantastic hot tub fantastic host Jamie 10 out of 10 on beaches."
"The cottage was lovely and characterful, forming one side of an enclosed courtyard formed by traditional stone former farm buildings."
The owner Jamie was very welcoming and helpful despite being busy running his farm, we really enjoyed the tour he gave us of his farm and glamping site. The hot tub and barbeque outside and wood burning stove inside were all welcome and well used. The wider area is largely agricultural and not particularly touristic but charming for that. There are good walks directly from the cottage and further afield. The cottage is well located for visiting the spectacular north east coast; Crovie, Pennan and Portsoy; a number of nearby castles and gardens; and Speyside.
"A gorgeous homely cottage with an owner that goes beyond, will definitely be back!"
"Great place, fab host."
"This cottage is in a fantastic location for anyone looking to explore Aberdeenshire or just for a relaxing mini-break with the hot tub and wood burning stove."
The kitchen is well equipped for almost any meal you can think of cooking. The rooms are very clean and light and the living room is packed with character. What really makes this a fantastic cottage is Jamie who is clearly passionate to insure all his guests are as happy as possible. He is full of great recommendations and we highly recommend you take up his offer for a farm tour if he offers, you won't be disappointed. We will certainly be back and cannot wait to catch up with Jaime and stay in his wonderful cottage in the near future!
"Absolutely brilliant place to stay, amazing log fire, very comfortable place."
Hot tub was perfect and stars looked amazing with no light pollution. Jamie was the best host we've ever come across, all his places look incredible and the fact he's built them all is unreal. He even popped by when we got there with all the necessities - milk, bread and eggs. Definitely want to come back!
"Fantastic choice of cottage."
Meeting the owner was like meeting someone you have know for years. Jamie was friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and offered us all his local knowledge to make sure we ok and able to make use of our time. The hot tub was lovely cold night is the warm hot tube. I would go back, in fact we are going back. The area that the cottage is in was stunning 10 minutes from the coast and so much round it. Cottage was clean, well maintained and had everything one could want. Thank you Jamie
"Jamie!! What a fantastic host, he couldn’t do enough to look after us"
. Millhouse was amazing and was so lovely to relax in and much bigger than we expected. It was worth the drive from Oxford and we are already planning to go back next year. There is only one thing that was a down point, our holiday wasn’t long enough. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.
"Jamie is a great host, this is the second time we've stayed."
Jamie really looks to meet the needs of his guests & goes the extra mile. We even got a private tour of a local castle! The house was great for us with two teenagers on tow! They loved the hot tub (remember your rubber ducks!!). The lights were a great addition. The wood burner adds to the atmosphere in the evening, there are lots of games there to play. Beds are comfy, outside space to eat when it's warm enough! Great location summer or winter. Lots of local walks, not far to the coast & about an hour to Aberdeen if a city trip calls. We'll be back! Thanks ....
"The "Cottage" is awesome."
So much bigger than we were expecting. It's cool and slightly quirky but at the same time warm and homely (a warmth only exceeded by the owner Jamie, who couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming). We absolutely loved our stay in this amazing place. It was both a great launch-pad for day-trips to the stunning Aberdeenshire beauty spots, and also a fantastic snuggly cosy night-in place for those long autumn evenings. So many details have been thought of and we wanted for absolutely nothing. I'm really hoping Jamie's invitation to see his farm is still good for our next visit. Can't wait!
The courtyard is huge and fully enclosed, so safe for dogs. There are also some very nice walks on the doorstep. Jamie the owner is a really nice guy and nothing is too much trouble. The fixtures and fittings are good quality and the beds are very comfortable with high quality bedding. The hot tub is the icing on the cake and if you are feeling competitive there is a darts board and ping pong table. What's not to like
"Mill town house is the a really nice place to stop it has the feel of a farmer's ..."
Mill town house is the a really nice place to stop it has the feel of a farmer's cottage everything just work's and in my eyes is in the perfect place if you like the hole country side thing and also the coast line which is not to far no matter which way you go north or east and if you like the out doors this is for you once you get log burner going and tea in the oven your good to go the hot tub is perfect after a long day out even in the dead of night
"From the moment I booked this cottage for a group of four adults and a dog, the owner and host could not help enough."
Jamie’s personal approach to having guests in this beautiful property was very much appreciated, the cottage was perfect and exceeded expectations! Thankfully my now fiancée said yes at a nearby beauty spot, and on learning the news, Jamie left some handpicked flowers for our return after a day out. We will definitely be returning!
"The place was beautiful."
The owner was thoughtful and attentive. 5 stars from us. Would happily return!
"Fantastic holiday thanks to Jamie who is an absolutely brilliant host."
Made sure he introduced himself to us, ensured we knew how everything worked and was always available if needed. Hot tub was fantastic, wood burning stove with plentiful supply of free wood, "wet room" shower and bathroom, comfy beds... the list is endless. Great location, just fantastic - thoroughly recommend this place and we will definitely be back!
"Cottage and it’s owners really lovely!"
Shame (for us) that it’s such a long journey, otherwise would have loved to stay there again.
"We've just enjoyed a week staying at Milltown House and we can't praise it highly enough."
On arrival we were struck by the amount of space available to us, the photos really don't do it justice. Everything from the generous welcome pack and personal welcome from Jamie to quality of the furniture, fittings and utensils helped make the place feel extremely homely. There was plenty of information to hand about local services and attractions and in addition Jamie proved a wealth of information on local walks and attractions. He even took us on a tour of his farm one evening which was both educational and enjoyable. The hot tub was lovely and used frequently although the weather conspired so as not to give us many starlit nights (didn't stop us using the hot tub though). Coming as we do from the Sussex coast, it is a long way to travel (660 miles), however we will definitely consider coming again next year. Thank you Jamie!
"Our holiday was fantastic, we really enjoyed it."
Jamie was really nice and always made sure that we were ok and took us for a tour of his farm which was great! We will definitely be going back there
"Truly great holiday."
..nothing too much for Jaimie. So helpful & we even spent time on the farm. A mind of information regarding local facilities & attractions. A warm & cosy home from home. I could see us moving up here...truly wonderful experience & feel totally relaxed. To watch the sun come up & see it go down from the hot tub under the stars...great! We'll be back...
"We had a fantastic 4 day stay at Milltown House, the conversion was well done with everything we needed for our stay."
We also received a lovely surprise of a welcome pack to start our holiday off.Jamie the owner also came round to check everything was ok he gave us some suggestions of things to do in the local area which was very helpful, Jamie also offered us a visit to his farm which we took up we all had a very memorable experience there with the excitement of baby lambs and calves. The hot tub and the log burner were a great addition to the cottage. We will definitely be going back.
"The property was excellent."
the rooms were bigger than they looked in the photos. Jamie was a great host and made sure we were well looked after. Very comfy beds too. the welcome pack was great too and the property had everything we needed, so need for the usual trip to the shops for household goods with other self catering places. We made good use of the hot tub and the log burner, enjoyed the board games too. Plus the invitation for a trip round Jamie's farm was an added bonus, as it was during lambing time and we were able to witness a few lambs being born, not something you see every day. Will be recommending, and will definitely to back to Milltown house, and use Sykes for any other UK trips we plan. Thank you to all, for a great wee break away from home.
"At the beginning of March, we had a very enjoyable week at Milltown House, a most spacious and comfortable holiday accommodation."
The welcome pack, visit to Craigston Castle and the farm were greatly appreciated. The enclosed courtyard, allowed our dog a great degree of freedom plus there are woodland walks nearby. We enjoyed the, very easy to light, Wood Burning Stove in the evenings. The only facility we did not use was the Hot Tub: that was our choice, could try it on a future visit. Iain & Jane Shaw
"We were astounded at the size of the cottage-with it’s lovely courtyard, big jacuzzi under the stars, and awaiting for us a roaring wood burner."
We were greeted by a lovely welcome basket that even catered for my young daughter. With lovely views, this cottage is situated off the road in a nice quiet spot. We’ve rebooked again in the summer and can’t wait to get back. Jamie is a perfect host, always making sure we were well looked after and informing us of all the lovely tourist attractions.
"Received a very warm welcome from Jamie the property owner, Also there was a welcome pack of milk, bread, eggs, some fruit and a bottle of red wine."
The converted steading and courtyard is a very nice place to come and relax, the beds are really comfy with a nice walk in shower. The living area has a large wood burner which gives off a cosy heat. The large hot tub in the enclosed courtyard was not working, but it wasn’t a problem for us as there is wood fired hot tub which was great once we got the hang of the stove Jamie couldn’t do enough for us and is really friendly with plenty of advice on some local trips to go on. We will certainly return to this beautiful area and fantastic relaxing converted steading. Graham & Sheona Main Burghead
"Everything you need for a holiday let, we stayed for a week and took lots of things for 'just in case' - we used none of it!"
Jamie was on hand for advice and was welcoming of feedback. He arranged a tour of a local castle which was lovely and Betta (apologies if spelt wrong) was knowledgeable and friendly. The hot tub was just what we needed after a tour of Aberdeenshire and the table tennis reminded us how competitive we are! Washing machine and separate dryer was welcomed as most places we went still had lots of snow. Very secluded and quiet which is what we wanted! Would recommend anytime.
"Met by Jamie on arrival."
. he was so welcoming and told us to make ourselves at home.. the hot tub was ready to use.. there was a good welcome pack for us with milk bread fruit and wine.. very thoughtful.. the court yard is enclosed , so very safe for dogs.. the cottage itself is very cosy, rustic farmhouse feel with a log burner.. highly recommend this cottage and will definitely consider a visit back ...
"Arrived here late evening."
The place was absolutely freezing cold. The hot tub was completely empty with a hose left out for us to fill it up ourselves which meant an eight our wait for it to get hot.The Jose was broken and riddled with holes.i only ever stay in places with hot tubs and never ever have I arrived to find it empty with instructions on how to fill yourself. No where in Sykes description does it even mention this. This is my birthday celebration and I am disappointed to say the least and feel one day of my three day break was spoilt as I only booked because of the hot tub.We are still here it’s our first night and I feel you need to compensate me for not being able to use the hot tub until what will be well into the second day of my break.I would not recommend nor will I recommend Sykes as your accommodations were not fit for purpose and so against trade descriptions.I will be looking for compensation for one day and I hope someone gets in touch as my trip advisor review will not be a good one.Who ever turns up to a holiday property with a hot tub to find it devoid of water and asked to fill it themselves and I may add without any chlorine or chemicals
Many thanks for your valuable feedback, we are very disappointed that one of our properties has seemingly let us down and not provided you with the experienced that we had hoped for. We have been in contact with the property owner on your behalf and have tried to call you to discuss the points you have raised. Please call us at your earliest convenience so we can assist you further in this matter. Our lines are open 7 days a week from 9am until 7pm. Property Owner
"Jamie was a fantastic host - he popped round to check that we were settled in and warm enough :) Nothing was too much of an effort and he even took us on a run to his farm."
The rest of the time we felt completely isolated and it was like having our own little world away. We spent one of the evenings stargazing in the hot tub, the house itself was spacious and when the fire was on it was so cosy. Wonderful. We will be back to Millton house in summer 2019 to take advantage of the coastal walks. Wish we could've stayed longer! I would strongly reccomend this cottage as one to stay in, and the price was so reasonable. Thanks!
"Milltown House is a beautiful spacious converted barn."
It had a lovely sitting room and the fire is especially great. The beds are very comfy and warm. There are all the white goods you need (even a dishwasher) and a hot tub (our favourite bit). Jamie, the host, is so welcoming and had loads of great advice about what to see and do, he helped us have the best stay we could and made the excellent cottage superb. I thoroughly recommend Milltown House and this part of the country too Aberdeenshire is beautiful and had many great places to visit. It had great whisky and castle trails nearby and a stunning coastline. We stayed at the start of November and the weather was superb. I can't recommend Milltown House enough, if you're thinking of visiting Scotland for the first time or visit regularly for your holidays, come here, we'll be back for sure!
"The whole family loved this converted barn."
The hot tub was a complete hit (take some crocs/flip flops to cross the gravel)! Jamie was welcoming & helpful. We loved the forest walks locally & trips to the coast. It took us about an hour to get to Aberdeen for a cinema trip. The house was lovely - lots of space, lovely & clean. Welcome box was a lovely suprise. The fire kept up super warm. Thanks, we'll be back!
"What a place."
The cottage and surroundings are fantastic, and the stove fire and hot tub are pure luxury after a big hike or drive. There is so much to do within a half hour drive and even within 10 mins there are some of the most staggering beaches and coves. Jamie couldn’t have been a more friendly host, living only 10 mins from the property: he and his brilliant family put some incredibly thoughtful touches into our visit, which he knew was for our anniversary. I cannot recommend Milltown enough!
"We had a fabulous week here."
A very well equipped cottage that was oozing in Scottish tradition. Very cleverly put together. Not to mention the owner. Such a pleasant gent and nothing a bother ! His only goal is that you enjoy your stay. Will be booking again soon.
"Had a lovely week at Milltown house."
The host Jamie was very friendly and accommodating even offering a tour of his farm. There's plenty to do in the surrounding areas from distillery tours to cliffside walks. Or if your just looking to relax, the house is very cosy and you can laze in the hot tub under the stars.
"A wonderful little hideaway."
Jamie has done a great job with this conversion and makes you very welcome. He is an excellent host, not intrusive, but available if you need him. We were too busy hiking and biking to take up his offer for a tour of the farm. Very thoughtful welcome with Some items left in the kitchen to settle you in,which included grapes picked from his own vines, which were lovely. A great place to relax and chill out, the hot tub and log burner making the nights perfect after our days activities. Will recommend to my friends.
"We really enjoyed our week here."
The house is in a beautiful setting and has a lovely outside sitting area overlooking the pretty courtyard: it's warm, tastefully furnished, with well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable beds. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful - filled up the hot-tub for our grandchildren and took us on a very interesting tour of their farm which is nearby. There's a good supermarket in Turriff and plenty to do in the area but it's tempting to just enjoy being at home in this cottage. We would definitely come back if we came to Scotland again.
"The cottage is amazing."
Clean, comfortable beds, tasteful homely decor, spacious rooms with plenty of ammenities to ensure a comfy stay. Jamie thought of everything to ensure our stay at Milltown House remained an unforgettable experience! From a little starter pack on arrival, to sharing with us information on local haunts and the best places to visit and explore in and around the area. Jamie ensured that our stay here was as close to perfect as it could be.
