  • "Communication with Ffion prior to arrival was excellent."

    The property has everything you need to a high specification (after reslising I'd brought a dud charging plug I was relieved to discover a usb socket by the bedside.)We were wowed by the size, it's so spacious! It was warm, spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and considering on a working farm, very peaceful. Four of us, plus 1 dog, stayed for a long weekend with 2 of our group running the Anglesey Half Marathon a convenient 15 minute drive to the start line. The rest of the weekend we filled by exploring all the beauty Anglesey has to offer (helped by fabulous sunshine) all within an hour drive of the cottage. A small supermarket within walking distance if you've forgotten any essentials. Highly recommend staying here, it's so much bigger than it appears in the photos.

  • "We headed off to Anglesey for a relaxing holiday and Ty Cuddfan provided everything we wanted."

    The tasteful furnishings and decor, spacious living, dining and kitchen areas had the wow factor when we entered the property and we were not disappointed at all during our stay. Enjoying some time with friends, we were fully equipped to dine in and we spent many evenings chatting at the large dining table. Warm and cosy, we did not even bother to light the log burner. Within walking distance of the local shop and being close to Beaumaris, it is an ideal location to explore the island. We will definitely be back!!

  • "Ty Cuddfan definitely has a wow factor."

    Spotlessly clean and warm for our November break. Facilities excellent everything we needed. Liked the fact it was modern great living area with all mod cons. Good size bedrooms/bathrooms clean (nothing shabby) beds/bedding . Location was great with peace and quite also privacy. Located just outside the village although within walking distance to village shop and certainly not far to travel to see the rest of Anglesey. Loved it so much will plan another visit in the near future. Owner contacted me within 3 days to inform me that the good housekeeping bond had been refunded. Could not complain about anything probably the nicest self catering holiday accommodation we have stayed in. Thanks Ty Cuddfan.

  • "It has been an absolute pleasure to stay in this property."

    We booked the cottage for a family of six adults to celebrate a special birthday in Anglesey and to experience the zipwire at nearby Velocity. The accommodation is fantastic - spacious, open plan, bright and is both furnished and equipped to an excellent standard of comfort. Also has very relaxing views of the countryside and a fabulous log burner stove. We have had a great time and will take away lifetime memories from our visit. Thank you

  • "Well,what can we say other than WOW!"

    !! what a beautiful place this is.This converted barn is stunning and beautifully furnished throughout, plenty of space for 6 people not to be under each others feet. Everything you need, very well equipped and spotless.There is nothing we could fault other than the awful weather we had while there but having this beautiful barn to be in for 4 days compensated that.The location is great being on a working cattle farm it was really quiet and nice to watch the cows come so close up to the windows to peep in

  • "The house is in an amazing location looking over the farmland / countryside but close to amenities and central to sightseeing on Anglesey."

    The property had the wow factor with very spacious light open plan living and dining area. The wifi and smart TV were invaluable on cold dark blustery evenings. It really is a place to chill and re energise. Everyday we were amused watching from the living area the cows in the neighbouring field. We had an amazing week.

    A gravel approach to the property that could be improved by paving would be a good idea also the entrance having a secure step is needed minor things I know but would make access so much easier

  • "If there is a perfect holiday cottage then Ty Cuddfan comes extremely close."

    This comfortable accommodation is tastefully decorated, comprehensively equipped with stunning views in a peaceful environment. Anglesey offers some of the most beautiful dog friendly beaches to be found anywhere. Being blessed with good weather we were able to spend each day at the beach. Our favourite was Llandonna but beware, you have to endure a ‘white knuckle’ drive to get there! It is well worth it for free parking, hot drinks, ices and snacks, toilet facilities close by and lovely sands and sea. We had a wonderful family holiday and would most definitely return.

  • "We stayed at this cottage a couple of weeks ago, wow, what can I say."

    The first words I said to my partner were "wow, I am not going home". It is spacious, open plan and clean. The location is great with short drives to local beaches and attractions. We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to go back next year. I wonder if the owner will extend with a conservatory and hot tub????

  • "The listing didn’t justify the setting or very high spec."

    Property. However, the rusted cutlery is limited and not of the quality shown elsewhere in this beautiful barn. Also I feel a 4.30 arrival and a 9.30 am departure even during COVID times would make me question another stay. (The brochure in the cottage stated 5pm arrival and 9am departure.) I’ve mentioned COVID, I understand we need to be extremely cautious, BUT with rubber gloves and a mask which I have used throughout this period, why are we being asked to strip the beds and sort the towels? I selected a 3 bedroom property because I like space and luxury. My daughter and husband spent four days with us. As mentioned, I like the luxury so happy to pay that extra. However, I am NOT happy to have to vacate that early and strip beds. When I stay overnight in a hotel, I have much greater freedom in departure time and definitely no bed changing. COVID is still around, and probably will remain. But I sincerely hope your management team can look into my strong feelings about the points made above. Thank you

We are sorry hear that you didn't feel the property was of high spec, and found scratches on the cutley, this was possibly due to the dishwasher and we have now replaced them., In regards to the arrivals and departures, stripping of beds and putting in bags at the end of stay etc - these are not set by us, we are following government guidelines and guidelines set by Sykes. We have visitors health and housekeepers health as a priority, the property is also fogged every changeover. However after speaking to house keeper and Sykes we have now relaxed timescales to departure at 10.00 am and allow arrivals at 3pm. Property Owner

  • "Not really sure where to start with this review as I'm not sure I have the words to say how much we have loved our stay in Ty Cuddfan."

    I know everyone has had a very hard 16 months so I won't dwell on that but after that time our holiday was just what our family needed! We have never done two weeks in the UK before but decided we all deserved a nice long relaxing time so we decided to go for two weeks (or as relaxing as holidaying with 3 children can be). As soon as we walked into Ty Cuddfan we felt at home and it definitely has the WOW factor. We really couldn't have asked for anything more! We have fallen in love with the house, the farm and our amazing neighbours (the cows) they have kept us entertained for hours watching their antics! The area is beautiful and the added bonus of the park and football field over the road was perfect for our 3 boys. We have had an action packed holiday but have loved coming back to Ty Cuddfan for a BBQ at night or just to sit with a wine looking at the mountain view. There is literally nothing I can think of that we needed or that would have made our stay any better! The owners were fab with communication and we really appreciated it! We are all feeling sad our holiday is coming to an end and we genuinely hope we will be back in the future! Thank you for everything and for our two weeks of much needed family time!

  • "We have just returned from a week away at Ty Cuddfan."

    We’ve all had a really good break (helped by the kind weather!!)...The location is fab, with easy access to all of the island along with only a short drive to Snowdonia. Both walks and bike rides on our doorstep! The barn is a great base, very well equipped for 6 people (and our dog Luna!). Outside patio furniture (with bbq) for when the weather was on our side, plenty of indoor seating when the weather was being less kind!! We have already booked to return again later in the year!

  • "Well what can I say ."

    ...Amazing, Perfect. This was our first Staycation and we couldn't of chosen a better property or location. From opening the front door it was WOW, WOW, WOW. This has everything you have in your own home and more....We took our 22 month old grandson and he was fascinated looking out of the patio doors watching the sheep in the farmers field. Only one minor negative would be the clothes rails in 2 bedrooms and only because we thought it looked untidy, looks as though there would be room for small wardrobe but that would not put us off in recommending this property or returning again. Well done you have a little gem.

  • "When we arrived, everything was spotless."

    The barn conversation itself is really nice and well planned open living. You have everything you need from an iron through to a garlic crusher. Plenty of towels are also provided. Their isn't anything I'd change at all. It's also even in a great location. Only 30/40 minutes from most Snowdonia walks and Angelsey attractions. We liked it so much that we'll certainly be back again. Thanks.

The property

This recently renovated, all-ground-floor barn conversion rests amidst peaceful countryside, next to a working sheep farm in the village of Llangoed, less than three miles form Beaumaris, on the Isle of Anglesey.

Ty Cuddfan has been refurbished to a high standard and offers spacious and contemporary accommodation for a family or gorup of six wanting to enjoy the coast and countryside that the Isle of Anglesey has to offer, as well as being within easy reach of popular North Wales towns of Bangor, Conwy and Caernarfon.

The property is accessed up a gravel driveway, offering off-road parking for two cars, and you can enter the property to find the large open-plan living area, with vaulted ceiling, hard wood floor and neutral decor giving it a bright and airy feel.

The sitting room has sliding doors that open up onto the field, where you'll likely see some grazing sheep from the adjacent working sheep farm, along with a choice of leather sofas and armchair to relax onto while admiring the view, with the Flatscreen TV playing in the background and the lovely woodburning stove crackling in the distance, filling the room with warmth.

The dining table is set for six and creates an ideal space to sit down and enjoy meals together, while the large, contemporary, fitted kitchen has a large island with breakfast bar seating, as well as all the mod cons you could desire, including a large American-style fridge/freezer, double oven, 6-ring hob and dishwasher, while the utility room houses a convenient washing machine, tumble dryer and WC, there's even a slow cooker, should you fancy cooking a delightful family favourite that can simmer throughout the day while you explore your surroundings.

There are three large bedrooms to choose from; two super-king-size and a twin, all with zip/link feature, so able to cater to a variety of requirements, with vaulted ceilings creating a spacious feel and the master double featuring an en-suite shower room.

The other two bedrooms are served by the stylish family bathroom, complete with a large walk-in shower and heated towel rail for added comfort.

Outside there is a private patio with furniture, where you can sit out with a morning coffee or enjoy an alfresco lunch in the peaceful countryside setting, while steps up lead to a raised lawn area, fenced off from the surrounding farmer's fields, where you can enjoy watching the sheep graze.

The centre of Llangoed is a short walk away, with a convenience store and post office, while Beaumaris is less than three miles from the property, with a wider selection of amenities.

Visit Beaumaris' stunning 13th century castle, gaol and lovely pier, overlooking the Menai Strait and out to Snowdonia.

From here, you can hop on a boat to Puffin Island to see the puffins in their protected wildlife habitat and don't forget to pay a visit to the RNLI Beaumaris Lifeboat Station.

Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens is a short drive away, as is Pili Palas Nature World, a fascinating and educational day out for children and wildlife lovers.

Cross the Menai bridge back over to the mainland to visit popular towns of Caernarfon and Cony, while Bangor is closest to the property, with its Eithinog North Wales Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, Penrhyn Castle, gardens and railway museum, owned by the National Trust, plus Garth Pier, which overlooks the isle of Anglesey.

Anglesey itself is less than 20 miles away and you can even enjoy a day out roaming the spectacular Snowdonia National Park, perhaps taking on a challenging hike or two.

Ty Cuddfan is a fantastic base for enjoying the coast and countryside of North Wales and the Isle of Anglesey.

The village of Llangoed is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the beautiful east corner of the Isle of Anglesey, offering a shop and Post Office. Nearby is the fascinating and attractive town of Beaumaris, boasting a 13th century castle, Georgian and early Victorian houses and shops, a number of excellent tea rooms, restaurants and stylish shops, and a delicatessen. Visit the town’s old courthouse and Victorian gaol, or the pier where you can fish for crabs or catch a boat to see the birds on Puffin Island. From the pier and promenade there are spectacular views across the Menai Straits and Snowdonia. Nearby Penmon Priory, founded in the 6th Century by Saint Seiriol and with its Holy Well and Dovecote, is just a short walk away on the coastal footpath.
