It was stunning accommodation full of character and quirky additions, completely to be expected in a property of this age and style. Beautifully spacious with ample room for 8 of us with a great open plan layout. The information and photos about the conversion of the chapel was really interesting. We would certainly consider booking again.

The bedrooms are all spacious with super comfy beds and ample bathrooms with added extra of a toilet on the upper landing. The Chapel was warm and had a lovely feel about it. There was plenty of entertainment options. My only one suggestion would be maybe a wooden gate at the top of the stairs for safety for toddlers, but other than that we had a fantastic stay would highly recommend greystones Chapel.

  • "We loved Greystones Chapel."

It was beautiful and neatly tucked away with parking and a little yard. We were two families of 4 and two small dogs we had plenty of rooms, bathrooms and lounges to spread out. The selection of books, games and the pool table went down well with the children too. We were close by for visits to all the popular attractions and some lovely restaurants. There is a park and a Spar and some lovely walks behind the chapel. While there were a few issues with the property, fondly renamed Faulty Towers by us, we wouldn't hesitate rebooking or recommending Greystones to others. It was quirky and fun. It was unfortunate that the heating system ran out of oil which resulted in not hot water or heating and some water / oil leaks. However, the owner was really responsive and tried their best to solve from afar, and arranging plumbers and heating engineers to come out in an emergency. We hope that the problems were able to be fixed after we left. We were offered compensation for the inconvenience to our holiday. Lovely chapel, lovely village. Would happily return :)

  • "Everything was great albeit a few things."

Property was perfect for us 3 families with kids of different ages and a dog. There were a lot of cobwebs in the property when checked in. There were bird baby noises in the ensuite bedroom starting 4-5 am everyday and we couldnt figure out if it was coming from outside, seemed from in side from the 2 storage near the ceiling. It was quite annoying and sleep depriving, but we got used to it. Otherwise location is good- Spar on one side and a playground on the other side. And mountain climbing at the back. And lakes nearby to walk to. Owner was quite helpful.

Such a big space for all of us to enjoy. As from reading previous posts I was worried about the unfinished bits which to be honest there were a few bits like door handles not fitted properly ,no bathroom locks and a lick of paint needed in a few places but did it really effect our stay? Nope! The character of the building was much more prominent! We would stay again no questions asked .

It had very dirty headboard thick dust around beds. We had to clean the cutlery before use. Door handles were not secured and came off. Could not use downstairs tv as it had no signal. The garden was a mess, weeds everywhere, rusty chairs with no cushions. Talking to the neighbours they said the owners are not interested in keeping property to a high standard like rubbish being piled up against back of property. This was a very expensive property and its the most disappointing we have ever stayed in.

  • "My family and I have had a fantastic weekend staying at Greystones Chapel."

The house is amazing!! We were blown away by the space, the vaulted roof, the enormous full length windows that let in so much light. Absolutely beautiful property, loved the use of the original features from the chapel and the gorgeous wood everywhere. And the photo book of the restoration was a joy to look through. There’s lots of beautiful old furniture all different , which we loved, so quirky ! The sofas and beds were really comfortable, felt like home in no time. Lovely and clean, yes there some cobwebs, especially on the hard to reach places but it’s an old house and did not detract from the beauty of the place. All the areas we were using/living in were clean, bedding smelled lovely and good quality towels. Kitchen is perfectly well equipped and items were provided that were useful. We adored the pool table and games room. Bookshelves stocked with all manner of books, something for everyone. Fantastic sound system too, perfect for partying and two enormous tvs in the living areas. I cannot recommend Greystones Chapel enough, 5 stars from us! Although more expensive than I would normally want to spend on a weekend, this was a special weekend for us, so it was perfect to treat ourselves. The only wish is that we could have had longer there .

Doesn’t look as great as it does on pictures, little things like the toilet roll handle broken/cupboard doors, bulbs not working. Hadn’t been cleaned well, there’s big white dog hairs everywhere. Needs a new hob - awful to cook on.

  • "The accommodation was impressive in appearance and suitable for large groups."

Location was good for access to Snowdonia. The finishing details were somewhat lacking. Door handles fell off when opening doors. There was a cupboard full of old food. There was a distinct lack of matching glassware. Only 3 wineglasses for a large group. Chair fell apart in bedroom when I sat on it..I’m only slim! Shower trays were bowed so that water pooled in centre. Also, at all other Sykes cottages we received a welcome pack. These are a nice touch after a long journey. Black bedding had white hairs / fluff visible inside covers. Many plus points are plenty of bathrooms. Comfortable beds. The games room. Kitchen a very sociable space. Overall it’s a fantastic place but some of the finishing details are a bit lacking. If these were addressed it would be an outstanding property.

  • "Amazing property!"

We had the best week away in this amazing chapel! The location was great and the Chapel was comfy, cosy and the design was awesome. The beds where so comfy. Only 2 things we thought of, we have a mad cockerpoo who joined us and she is a little crazy, if you have a mental dog or old dog, the stairs are a little entertaining. Our dog skidded down them a few times. Also if your dog is a princess diva like ours and won’t do her business on anything but the finest the grass, the garden is beautiful but lacking in grass. No complaints, mostly entertaining but just something to be aware of if your taking your 4 legged friends with you. There where 5 of us and we struggled a bit with cooking dishes, there where plenty of plates and bowls and mugs but not many bigger serving dishes or large bowls. But the kitchen was beautiful and we managed to make it all work with what was there. Thank you so much for a lovely week. We would happily stay in this chapel again.

  • "Excellent accommodation for our group of friends."

Photos are an accurate representation. Very social up stairs, open plan/pool table/ seating area with tv/large table and great kitchen. It was perfect for what we needed. Few snags if you are an interior designer, but we loved the place. However, I do think it is on the expensive side. The history and photos of the restoration were particularly interesting. Key code for door is very convenient. Parking for 2 cars and the road was busy when we visited so we had to park a short walk away. We felt very at home here. The outside bins were full when we arrived so it would be helpful if they were emptied more regular or more bins were provided. Overall, we had a great weekend here.

Hi Bruce, Yes we initially had a few teething problems with the waste company, I appreciated your comments to feed back to them, all sorted now thankfully. Thanks so much for taking the time to give us the feedback. Glad you & your party enjoyed the social area upstairs. Amber. Property Owner

Excellent photography disguises the problems. Parking for only 2 cars max with very little space to manoeuvre - picture is very deceptive. Little thought given to the comfort of visitors and how they would use it. Nowhere to hang wet coats. Not well cleaned. Equipped on the cheap and vastly over priced.

  • "The place is beautiful but, the cleaners had not done a great job; there was even a packet of 1/2 eaten crisps left in the side of the sofa."

Towels were not including bath towels, only hand towels, there was only one knife for cooking, the hob does not work well. We were not able to get into the place till 4pm and still had to leave at a normal time of 10am we should have been allowed to leave later. The iron provided was filthy and we had to ask for it. Very disappointed as the excessively priced stay did not reflect the lack of luxury and I would not be recommending this to anyone at this price

Hi, sorry for the late reply. We include bath towel - so not sure what you mean?. 4pm & 10am are normal check in & out times sorry, its a big property to clean. The thing is, you did actually check in early! You arrived early and hassled our cleaners to let you check in, which they complied with - so clearly they didn't have enough time to complete their clean. I'm sorry but you can't have it both ways! The iron was broken - the last guest maybe? The cleaner went out of their way to get you a replacement , sorry it wasn't up to your standard. Thank you for you feedback Property Owner
