  • "Lovely house but cleaning needs more attention to detail."

The house was overall clean in the areas where it mattered however the skirting boards were particularly dusty in the en-suite bathroom. There was also cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in the downstairs bedroom and en-suite. Mould was present in the bottom of the en-suite shower. Rubbish was found under the bed in the large upstairs bedroom. An abundance of crumbs were found between the sofa cushions on both sofas. On arrival we couldn’t get into the property until around 4.30pm instead of the check in time of 3pm as a locksmith was present fixing an issue with the front door and he had been scheduled to arrive at 3pm. Not much of an issue as we didn’t arrive until 3:50pm however we wanted to drop our bags straight off and go back out to the supermarket which mean we did have to wait a bit before we could do so. I’d read reviews prior about the back doors being faulty and on arrival we could not even open the back doors as they had been closed incorrectly and we didn’t want to force them and break anything. When I messaged the owner to let her know they weren’t closed properly she gave me a call to advise it was because of the warm weather they’d experienced and the doors had dropped. The owner was lovely and arranged for someone to fix the doors on Monday. Someone came round whilst we were out and had gone before we got home which wasn’t an issue. We didn’t actually use the back doors as we were quite worried they wouldn’t shut and didn’t want to risk not being able to get them shut and locked with valuables in the property. The shower over the bath upstairs seemed to cause a small leak through the ceiling when using. I noticed splashes of water on the floor when putting something in the bin and looked up to find the ceiling was wet right after my sister had used the shower. We refrained from using the upstairs shower over the bath and used the shower in the en-suite to avoid further leaks. (I note a previous review stated the same issue and the owner replied it was user error and that the upstairs bathroom had been flooded however as a grown adult I can firmly state the shower over the bath was used correctly and the bathroom was not flooded on this occasion, no water was on the bathroom floor at all.) I admit this had not been reported to the owner at the time and that’s because we didn’t want a 3rd person to interrupt our stay at the property. Apologies for reporting this late however as I stated, it was not user error causing the leak. We bought a dvd to watch however the picture played and there was no sound. I didn’t contact the owner as I was unsure if the dvd was just faulty however the dvd has played fine now we’re at home. The tv is well equipped with free view and on demand services such as Netflix (if you have a subscription to log in with) and channel 4 on demand etc. so having not a dvd player wasn’t a problem. Free WiFi was great and there was no issues with the speed. I used my iPad to stream on an evening in bed and didn’t have an issue with playback. Signal at the property (and on the island as a whole) was really poor so the free wifi was definitely appreciated, thank you! Issues aside the property is really well equipped with plenty of crockery and utensils. There was also a hairdryer and iron provided. I brought my own towels however my sister used the towels provided and noted that the towels could be a little bigger as they’re a little too small for an adult to wrap around the body. The bed was very firm but comfortable. I couldn’t feel the springs in the mattress. It felt pretty solid at first but when I laid down it wasn’t uncomfortable but that depends on personal preference I suppose. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the property and it is in a quiet and convenient location within Anglesey. Although it seems like I’ve listed a lot of issues, most were minor and didn’t spoil our holiday. Thank you for providing the holiday let at a reasonable price. We would look to stay here again if we came back to Anglesey.

  • "We had a problem with the front door being difficult to open and shut."

The beds were so hard I bought a double duvet to sleep on and used the outside cushions. The door to the back garden would not close, so had to call someone out, he said it had dropped and needed to be mended.

The front door has been adjusted and is absolutely fine. The beds have good mattress on they are silent night but unfortunately, we can’t cater for all bed preferences. The back door was mended within the hour it had dropped due to the weather and is perfectly fine now. Property Owner

  • "Just returned from a week stay at the house."

Upon arrival I had to hoover the downstairs as it was not very clean. I did speak to the owner direct and waited for the cleaning company to return for me to discuss with them, however they didn’t arrive. The house generally needs a deep clean as there is dust and hair on skirting boards and the banisters. We had issues closing the back doors, which we spoke to the owners about and they promptly responded. The issue is worse during sunny days and we did struggle every time to close them. Front door is also a challenge at times. Main bedroom window sill was covered in bird excrement which was reported and they were waiting for the window cleaner to attend the following week. When staying make sure you bring additional supplies of bin bags (1 provided), toilet rolls (2 provided) and dishwasher tablets (3 provided). You will also need kitchen roll and foil. Location is quiet and excellent for the island and the beach. Parking isn’t an issue. There is a pub just down the road and a Tesco/Co Op a couple of miles away. We recommend the chippy at the back of Tesco Express.

Our house is cleaned throughly every time guests leave and arrive. The house was hovered before your arrival as I get pictures off the cleaning company and there were hover lines. The house does get deep cleaned through the year. The doors have now been fixed. The bird muck was on the outside sil all windows and sils cleaned on Friday 7th June as they are done monthly. Are house has many amenities and we give a few toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, bin bags to all guests. Other items can be purchased as previously they kept going missing from the property. Pleased you were happy with the location and easy access to facilities. Property Owner

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay in this well furnished, modern property, which has been the best we've stayed in over the last 7 years."

The location is very convenient for Benllech beach and provides a good base for touring around Anglesey generally. The house is very comfortable, nicely furnished and we found it so lovely and quiet, that we slept really well here (not sure why others commented about beds being uncomfortable - we're quite picky over this and found them to be fine) There was a very minor issue over which we contacted the owner, who responded straight away to resolve it - great service and thanks! We were so impressed generally with the property, that we will definitely come back here. Highly recommended!

Hi Mark, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. So pleased you enjoyed your stay at the house and the beautiful Anglesey. Pleased you found the beds comfortable and we look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "Great location, very modern and well equipped."

A few negative points that need addressing- All the beds are very uncomfortable ( feedback from us and 4 guests) mattresses could do with being replaced with better quality ones. Better updated info about heating as we had to contact owner (who was very responsive) and sorted it. Had to report leak from bathroom which was coming through kitchen ceiling. Lots of dead flies in main bedroom don’t think property had be used for a while but maybe cleaners could have checked before we arrived.

Thank you for your feedback on your stay. Firstly, the mattresses are two years old and were expensive, unfortunately it’s difficult to judge hard/soft sleepers. Secondly, the heating controls have been upgraded the manual will be updated as this work was completed 2 days before your stay. We accommodate all guests and ensure heating and hot water is maintained. Thirdly, the leak was not due to any maintenance issues within the property, mis use of the bathroom caused the flood as the bathroom floor was covered in towels whilst the emergency plumber was inspecting the issue. Finely, flys do get into south facing houses as they are attracted to the warmth on the roof windows. Are property is cleaned for all guests and checked regularly. We will install a small hand held hover to assist whilst guests are staying. Property Owner

  • "Had a good weekend."

However 2 big laundry bags left in the opening to living room on arrival which took up space. During our stay there high winds and rain and found the patio doors leaked, this is something I’m sure the owners are not aware of and unfortunately due to the high wind the storage box outside was battered. There were a lot of dead flies around the house which was a bit of putting. We went for a chilled weekend and that is what we had.

I’m pleased you had a good weekend. Apologies for the clean laundry bags are cleaners have moved them. The patio doors have since been rectified and the storage box removed and disposed. Apologies for the flys they are attracted to the roof windows at certain times of the year. Are cleaners do go regularly to check the house through the week. Property Owner

    E. clean, comfortable and convenient. Surprised that there was no clear sign for Plas Delfryn. Suggestions to improve things for future guests: sufficient supplies of toilet rolls (only 2 rolls provided) and dishwasher tablets (2 provided); a coffee percolator would also have been useful - all other properties we've rented have had one; a decent bowl for salads; and some kitchen paper to go on the kitchen roll holder provided. All of these things could be provided at not much cost.

Hi John, Thank you so much for your feedback. We will review your comments and act accordingly. We use to have a coffee percolator and it got stolen but will review the amount of toilet roll /paper towel amongst other items. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in Anglesey. Property Owner

Quiet family location which suited us well. Good wifi and Netflix logged in was a nice touch. We had some difficulty with front and back doors, making sure they were properly closed and locked. The left patio door in particular was a challenge. One of the bulbs had gone/was going, I left it on a piece of kitchen roll so hopefully that was obvious. Thankyou for a very pleasant stay.

Hi Amy , Thank you so much for your feedback. We will check the front and back doors sometimes they react with the heat/ cold conditions. Cheers, on the heads up of the bulb Property Owner

Only a couple of things that may need to be attended to. The shower screen leaks and the back door on the bifolds has dropped a little so is hard to close. A mirror and small chest of drawers in the third bedroom would be nice but not essential. A great stay and a great property. High standard.

  • "My family enjoyed a lovely week staying in this property."

It was like a home from home. The property has everything at hand to cater for. It is very modern, bright, and clean. My family all enjoyed comfortable sleeping in the comfortable beds. The location of the property is very handy for travelling around the island. Turn right out of the property and it takes you straight to Benlech. Turn left and left again, and it's one straight road to Llangefni, and towards the A55. There is a nice Tandoori restaurant a short walk away, nine hole golf course, and a small pub at the end of the road. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely return. One item missing is a tumble dryer, but to be fair, the property is warm enough, there are two heated towel rails, and a handy clothes maiden, so not a big deal. Thank you to the property owners for allowing my family to stay, and Thank You to Sykes for making the booking so simple and straightforward. Will definitely be booking again soon. Mike

Provides everything you need for a holiday home. Clean, tidy and well maintained. Perfect for us and a toddler. Would certainly return again. If being extremely picky, it could do with a number on the front door for when arriving in the dark. The door could do with slight adjustment as sticking and maybe a high shelf in the bathroom to keep items away from little ones.

The property was really really clean and very comfortable. It is in a quiet area and has a lovely south facing sunny garden with comfy garden furniture, perfect to catch the sun. Just a couple of additions would help, an iron and ironing board, also a clothes airer. A dust pan and brush and maybe a broom as we would have liked to have given it a sweep before we left. Upstairs would be improved by having a larger mirror for us ladies! However there are two in the ground floor bedroom if you don’t mind sharing. All these things are really quite minor and didn’t detract from a near on perfect week away. So thank you to the owners for letting us use your home and thanks to Sykes for making it happen. We would not hesitate in booking 20 Parc Delfryn again.
