  • "I’ve just returned home after a 3 night stay at this property."

Like others, I was a bit apprehensive from reading some of the reviews, but I needn’t have been worried! The property is exactly as described, it was spotlessly clean on arrival and the host had left out a bottle of wine and some dog treats for us which was a nice touch. Yes it’s a bit scruffy on the paintwork but this isn’t advertised as a luxury 5* accommodation and it is dog friendly so I wouldn’t expect it to be show house perfect. The property is very well equipped, in the kitchen there is an induction hob, oven, air fryer and microwave. The tv has loads of channels/movies etc & the WiFi had a great signal with no issues. There is a washing machine in the bathroom and a tumble dryer in the shed. There is also a little bucket BBQ with some tools in the shed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was powerful and nice and warm. Towels, bedding and cleaning products are provided. The day after we arrived the faulty fridge freezer was replaced with a brand new one, the owner had left a note explaining this and he then came to the property on the morning of delivery to make sure that was ok and wanted to empty the fridge of our food for us. He was very friendly and gave me good advice about local dog walks etc. The chairs in the yard were clean and more than adequate, not sure if they had been replaced since some negative comments were made or just deep cleaned. There is also a clothes airer in the shed and a retractable clothes line in the yard which is perfect for drying off stuff after a trip to the beach. The only thing I think could do with improvement to make the stay more comfortable is the bed isn’t very sturdy and I was worried it would break. The addition of a small table in the yard would be good, as would a radio or Alexa device. All in all I think that this property offers incredible value for money, it is clean and well equipped and the location is perfect. The owner was very friendly and approachable and is clearly keen to continue to improve this little gem. I will definitely be back, we all had a lovely break here…the dogs loved it and even my grumpy teenager was happy here

  • "We were apprehensive about coming after the negative reviews."

But were pleasantly surprised . Generally clean and well equipt. The appliances looked new . We were worried about the tv signal etc but there was a now tv box and what looked like a WiFi booster . There is a large electric wall heater in the living room along with a small portable heater and also one in the bedroom . My husband thinks the bed needs some maintenance. The fridge is a non frost but all the back was all frosted up and everything froze . We never used the freezer . Yes there are scuffs on the walls from cases and the skirting needs painting as chipped I presume from when the wooden floor was put in . The dryer in out house needs a good clean on the outside. we had to clean the filter as it looked like it had never been done and that’s a fire hazard . We also had to empty the vax . The seats in the court yard are mouldy and need cleaning . It could do with a few pots with some colourful plants and I’m sure guests would be happy to water them . Other than that I can say the appliances and the Wi-Fi were excellent. The space to hang clothes needs reconfiguration. It’s too high even my husband struggled. There is a large sky light in the kitchen/living room that badly needs a good clean as it has green mould on it . Having said all this we had a good break . The stag pub at the end of the high st is not surving food at the moment as the kitchen is under refurbishment. They will allow you to bring your chip tea in which is good . They will also give you the phone no to order it but you have to nip out to get it . The harbour hotel does food and I can highly recommend the dressed crab .

  • "On arrival I was very disappointed with the exterior and it was not very inviting with weeds everywhere and moldy outdoor seating that needed a good deep clean before you sat on it."

There is a small outhouse with cleaning products that have not been used for a long time. The property inside is dirty with dirty floors, walls and skirting boards. We was told about the fridge which is full of ice and freezes all you food and has been like this since May. The freezer compartment was also dirty. The bed is awful and I think is actually broken. The bedroom is so hot with only doors to open for air, which I didn't want to do in the night. This property needs a deep clean and re-painting and a new bed. I'm glad we was only there three nights.

However the fridge was frozen, so our milk etc kept freezing up. I intended to ring the owner, but the Internet was down and my phone had no signal, we intended to ring when out and about but kept forgetting. Sorry about that. But over all a really nice place. Sort the fridge out and I'd definitely stay there again. Close to all amenities, sea, shops, pubs, cafe, with lots of places to visit. I loved this little village. Car park was 2 minutes away and free, which was great. I would recommend..

  • "Generally a nice little ground floor property but it is small."

Generally clean and tidy with pretty much everything you need. Few points that would require improving and our main frustration was the WiFi. The signal is really weak to a point where the TVs struggling at times and often tripped out and were constantly streaming for a signal. Sometimes we had to just give up. Struggled to connect phones too. This requires an upgrade in my opinion. Needs a wardrobe for clothes too as there’s a small cubby type hole in the bedroom with about 6 hangers that’s it. Table in the garden would also be nice as this is shown in the pictures advertising but there isn’t one there. The property however is well kitted out with pretty much everything you need. Really nice touch with a bottle of welcome Prosecco and chocolates. It’s ok for a short break but not sure we could stay there a week for the reasons mentioned above.

You and Sykes should be ashamed of yourselves. Our much needed holiday lasted for one awful night. We couldn't open the patio doors and didn't want to force them. Although there was a fan it was on a timer which wasn't much good at night when the door had to be shut. We found the sofa uncomfortable but solved this partially by using pillows off the bed. The photograph in the description on the website shows a different sofa with cushions. There was a very helpful folder of walks and some manuals for the equipment. Unfortunately several of the manuals didn't refer to the current tv and oven. There was no indication of what had to be recycled where and the bins by the gate were overflowing. I can only assume that a previous occupier had sorted it incorrectly and the bin men had refused to empty them. The folder was also lacking in the general information about local ,shops, doctors, dentists, hospitals and vets which is often useful when away most of which have needed at different times on different holidays. although it provided a clean base from which to explore the area I'm not sure whether we would go back again

  • "After looking at the property on the website my partner who registered disabled and I thought it looked very cosy and perfect for our needs, unfortunately that wasn't the case on arrival due to a few simple to rectify issues but damning none the less."

    1) The sofa in the picture is NOT the one in the apartment it has been replaced at some point with a faux leather type two seater sofa which was impossible for my partner to actually sit on due to his situation I feel that any alterations in furnishings should be acknowledged on the site because this was very misleading and all my poor partner had to sit on was plastic dining chairs for which we had to go out and use our holiday money and petrol to fit them out with seat cushions just to give him a little bit of comfort but he spent most of our down time laying on the bed because the furniture was so uncomfortable. 2) We were confronted with a quilt and pillows left on the bed and we specifically asked for just a mattress protector and nothing else which is quite silly because the only way we could store them was by putting them into the outbuilding inside dustbin liners which we had to purchase from the local shop which was another expense which wasn't needed if our instructions had been adhered to in the first instance. 2) The doors on the bedroom and the living area were poorly affixed to there frames because they would not shut without being forced into position which was difficult to be totally honest the paint on the skirting board by the living room door needs sorting out as does the ceiling above the radiator in the living room as it is coming away and the hoover was left full of rubbish and didn't work after emptying it and there were pubic hairs in the shower before we used it. Both my partner and I have to give Cemaes Bay itself a massive thumbs up it's a beautiful place to visit the area was clean and tidy most of the people who we aquatinted with were friendly and polite the fish and chip shop which is on the high street sells excellent produce the fish is cooked to order and the batter is light and very tasty. The two beaches around the point are clean and easy to access and there are some fantastic views from the clifftop walks that take your breath away, if you want seaside attractions such as amusement arcades then you will be disappointed because there aren't any and the island has Asda and B&M as the one and only local shop is expensive due to it's exclusivity but they are only accessible by car as they are in the middle of the island but Cemaes is a beautiful place just to relax and recharge the batteries just stupid little things let the rest of the holiday break down. SYKES it's upto you to keep your listings current and up to date so someone else does not have a spoilt time through idiosyncrasies that need not have arisen in this case.

The Studio was in a very good position for shops, cafe, pub, general store and butcher's all within a 1 min to 2 min walk. From the studio there were two lovely walks to go on the flower walk and the otter walk both taking you to the harbour. Both harbours are only 5 min walk away which can lead you onto more walks. If you do not want to drive there is a bus stop on the High Street 1 to 2 min walk from the Studio. Cemaes is a beautiful quiet village unspoilt by tourism. The Studio it self may be small but it is compact and big enough for two people and a dog. Bedroom double bed , comfy, TV in corner on corner unit and hanging space in alcove. Shower room good size with full size sink, toilet and shower cubicle. Shower very good. In the alcove there is a washing machine, bonus. Lounge/ kitchen and dinning area wth wall mounted TV. The kitchen has all necessary equipment to make either a light meal or a full meal. Outside there is an out house with a dryer another bonus. Patio area there are two chairs to soak up the sun the area is a sun trap. The Studio was for us in an ideal postion quiet and convenient for the amenities of Cemaes. Cleanliness was good just one area needing a little attention was the runners on the shower screen. Which in a couple of minutes was rectified. The recycling boxes were full but not emptied due to the boxes being in correctly filled. We took our recycling to the recycling depot on the free car park at the top of the road 1 min walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cemaes and at the Studio.

The property is comfortable, although better ventilation in the kitchen / living room would be helpful on hot days. The recycling and rubbish bins were full on arrival, and not collected due to being incorrectly filled by a previous tenant. Clearer labelling would help with this. The yard area was ok, although cigarette butts had been left in the plant pots, and the plants were dead, which detracted from the area. The property would benefit from a dishwasher - some of the kitchen equipment was not clean. I tried to wash the cheese grater, but it was rusty and not usable despite this.

I expected it smaller but was actually bigger. It's an Annex to the rear of the house off the main high Street. It has easy access and you can park in front of the garage at the back. There is everything you need. Toaster, kettle, microwave, iron ironing board, washing machine and dryer. Along with fully fitted kitchen. There is no window in the lounge which I was a bit concerned about but there's a large skylight in the roof and let's lots of natural daylight in the room so wasn't a problem at all. There is Now TV in lounge and bedroom. The bedroom has a small inset in the wall as a wardrobe, so storage a bit short but we lived out of our suitcase so wasn't a problem for us. The bathroom is lovely. Plenty of hot water and nice shower. We had a bit of a struggle with the hot water, but the itinerary the owner left explained fully what to do, so check that out. No problems other than parking was a bit tight for our Volvo est. The internet and sky was very welcome as it rained for most of our week. Very handy for the shops, restaurants and facility's for the Town. As a base for walking ideal, as the coastal paths and country side abound. Value for money with a welcoming bottle of wine etc. A good spot to discover Anglesey from.

  • "Modern and bright but for us the settee and the bed were not comfortable."

Probably would stay again if in the area but felt that £260 for three nights self catering a little expensive.

It is situated near owner’s property The Old Post Office.

This is the perfect holiday for couples wanting a peaceful break.

The main bedroom has a lovely double bed with an integrated wardrobe and TV.

The open living plan area includes a well-equipped kitchen with a comfortable sitting area and breakfast bar and there are doors opening out to the courtyard to sit out with your morning coffee.

With a short walk to shops, pubs and beaches, you can get all your necessities and relax in the sun in a quiet atmosphere with a refreshing drink.

Further afield, you can take a 10 minute drive to the local Red Wharf Bay or town of Benlech.

This allows ample opportunities for long leisurely walks along the coast, the chance to visit local monuments and churches and explore the fishing harbour.

Angling charters are also quite popular in this area, and if guests are able to get good weather and calm seas, then a day’s fishing on the water is a relaxing experience.
