  • "This is my second time staying in Hen Felin Isaf, and it didn't disappoint."

The location is peaceful and the views are stunning, plus it is almost on the beach. You can go to sleep to the sound of lapping waves and wake up to the dawn chorus. The cottage is very homely and comfortable. It is equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday and the owners are extremely welcoming and friendly but leave you to get on with your holiday. We have already booked a week in October - that is how much we love staying here.

The family who own the property made us feel right at home. Situated right on the beach , perfect for walking with the dog. Who needs to go abroad, when you have this on your door step..

The property was in a great place & was general very good. A deep clean of the bathroom & kitchen flooring is all that is need to get 5 stars.

  • "The cottage is situated in a superb location making for a very relaxing holiday."

Yes the road to it is narrow, but we managed without any problems. The cottage was very clean and had pretty much all you could want. If I had to make a criticism it would be the lack of information, leaflets on places to visit etc but perhaps that was a Covid issue?

  • "We found the cottage perfect for two of us and a dog."

It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was great for walks along Red Wharf Bay and the views from the garden were beautiful, particularly the sunsets. The lane down to the cottage was very steep, narrow and had a lot of twists and turns and could be busy at times with campers and visitors to the bay. The owners lived next door and were really friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

  • "This cottage is in the most scenic location with views from all the main rooms out across Red Wharf Bay, at High Tide the sea is only about 80 ft away."

At low tide there are miles of sandy beach to walk on, right across the bay. The sunsets are stunning. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need to self cater. The Bathroom and ensuite Cloakroom are modern and well equipped. The Hosts Brother lives on site with his wife and gorgeous doggy. They are lovely and welcoming, but not intrusive in anyway. The only comment we have that is not totally positive is that the mattresses have seen better days but it will me stop me returning.

  • "The cottage has a fantastic location."

It was well equipped, clean and tidy. We are a family of four - two adults, two teenagers and a dog. There was plenty of room for us to eat and relax. The owners were friendly and very helpful, without being at all intrusive. After welcoming us, they left us in peace to enjoy our break. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider returning in the future.

The location is stunning, right on the beach front. Our children played on the beach until the evening and we sat in the cottage garden watching them, idyllic. The cottage was comfortable and had everything needed as well as some extras. We felt very lucky to have found Hen Felin Isaf, and I am sure we will be back to visit. Thank you.

  • "The owners were friendly and left us to do our own thing, would recommend."

The cottage is at the bottom of a very steep hill, the local council bought to much road, so much so they had to bend it (lots) to get it all in. Well equipped, comfy beds, our little dog Alfie enjoyed the beach straight across the road, great walking. After a bit of investigation we found different things to do each day on the island.

There were only three comfortable chairs in lounge although cottage for 4. No rugs/mats in the cottage. No fuel for the open fire. Nowhere to hang clothes or put cases in one bedroom, very small. No visitors book for comments recommendation other holiday makers. No additional bedding or blankets. No soap and very old towels. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen although only 4 of everything so if dishwasher on no plates cups available for use. Definitely not 5* I would say 3*. Definitely trading on position.

5 miles to the nearest shop with some very narrow lanes to navigate, also the nearest Pub is about 1.5 miles up a very steep twisting single track lane, we didn't go because it was rather daunting the thought of walking up with 2 dogs on leads, but having said that, there was no need to leave the cottage, we had taken enough supplies to see us through the week and the peace was to die for. would with out doubt go again.
