  • "Our second visit to this property and we plan to visit again next year."

The walk down to the beach might have been very muddy after all the rain (since October!), but well worth it. Spacious sitting rooms and bedrooms. Handy for anywhere on the island, but we just enjoyed the peace and quiet most.

Nice and remote with amazing views across to Holyhead Harbour. Cottage was beautifully kept and was extremely cosy in the living room with the fire going on a cold January night. We will definitely be staying again

  • "We were very lucky with the weather which made our stay."

Whilst the property has unique character we did feel the property needs a lot of TLC, especially when comparing living room with the kitchen and dining room. Dining room was very uncomfortable to sit at, and very tight seating area. Kitchen has a lot of equipment beyond use (frying pans rusty, plated and cups chipped, utensils rusty / damaged, door from kitchen to dining room could not be closed as did not latch to properly. Beds were very uncomfortable - some new mattresses would improve them. Shower leaked badly in the bathroom and lots of mould. Needs to be a warning on the description about the extremely low roof areas as some door frames had no padding and I personally made my head bleed 3 times, if you have a bad back this may be worth a miss as bending a lot. Think the fire provisions on arrival were sparse, thankfully we brought our own logs too. Area was very secluded which was great, and muddy track to beach was good - bring your wellies though! Finally thanks for returning a coat I left in the cottage.

Comfortable and in a very tranquil spot with stunning views across the bay and well located to get round the many sites of Anglesey with the village shop and pub only a mile away and Holyhead nearby. Good location for accessing the beaches along this part of the coast and walking on the coastal path around Anglesey

  • "The property was in need of a good clean there was a lot of things that needed maintenance which we did point out to the owner."

We had a large infestation of flying ants in the hallway which we dealt with then an infestation of beetles the owner said it was because it's an old house. The toaster only has two slots working which we reported., the kitchen drawer the front kept coming off which we tried to glue back on the washing line was broken and were told it was only a couple of weeks old but this didn't help us so we got a washing line ourselves as it was the only way to dry clothes. The bath leaked so did not use . The area was lovely and great for walking Margaret was very nice we met her every day when she came to feed the chickens and let the dog out for a walk. She seemed to know about the problems and said they had changed the cleaner

Really felt like a home from home and had everything we needed. My daughter (nearly 2) absolutely loved the run of the garden and the little wendy house and sand pit outside. Such a safe space for her to play in. We walked down to the beach everyday (5mins down a beautiful wild flower path) and explored Anglesey by car easily from this spot. The owners were really welcoming and informative. Such a wonderful place to stay. We definitely plan to visit again soon.

We had two toddlers under three and it was a great property and garden to explore with them. Because this is a period property the owners were not able to fit stair gates as advertised - this wasn’t an issue for us - but something to bear in mind if you have a really little toddler. The owners are so welcoming and it’s a beautiful location. Highly recommend!

There is nothing fake or pretentious about the property. We all loved our stay here from age 2 to 53. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and a nice touch with the welcome hamper. There were plenty of toys for little ones inside and out as well as an array of dvds. The views are simply stunning. The owners were lovely and friendly. We would stay again in a heartbeat and happily recommend to friends and family. Please don't change a thing about this property it was fantastic.

  • "We had a really lovely family get together in this homely and surprisingly spacious cottage."

Archie the toddler had the benefit of a garden which he does not at home and we were able to thoroughly enjoy family time with both Archie and 8 week old Oscar which we were very sadly unable to with Archie due to the lockdown in 2020 when he was born. We loved the wonderful views of Holyhead which were ever changing and the toing and froing of the ferries. We went swimming at Treaddur, Church Bay and conveniently down the track from Bodlasan Farm at Llanfachraeth. The beach in the late evening is superb with a setting sun, the cries of the curlews, the heron fishing on the foreshore and the tooting of owls on the way back. We found the Owen family utterly kind and friendly, a lovely hamper of goodies was left for our arrival including eggs from the chickens. There are ample places to visit, too many for just one week! We went to NT Plas Newydd, a trip to Puffin Island, Benllech Beach leading to beautiful Red Wharf Bay. A great place to leave worldly problems behind just for a week and share the clearly treasured childhood home of the owners.

Then the location, wow - just a short walk down a private track and you are on the beach. Perfect if you want to get some peace and quiet and relax. Mrs Owen was only a text away if you needed anything and was really lovely when we happened to bump into her as we were leaving. Oh and how can I not mention the five chickens! We bought some wild bird seed on our first shop and then every day they would come over and see us. Mrs Owen even gave us some eggs. Most places were still closed due to Covid restrictions so we did loads of walking including two days straight from the cottage and took picnics each day.

The location itself is brilliant, a few minutes walk from the cottage door down a private country lane brings you to a delightful and deserted beach; a few minutes away in the car is Holy Island where we visited (and climbed to the top of) the spectacular South Stacks lighthouse and visited amazingly beautiful sea coves and cliff top walks and nature reserves. When we entered our cottage we were greeted with the lovely sight of a bottle of wine and a pack of nibbles. The sights and friendliness of every on Ynys Mon was exceptional in every way. The only working mill on Ynys Mon was being refurbished by it's new owner when we tried visiting on the Tuesday, he invited us to revisit on the Thursday/ Friday when he would open early to accommodate us. Not only did this gentleman keep his word, he gave us a private personal escort round the mill, explaining much that we would not otherwise have known. Considering he wasn't due to open until the Monday after our holiday ended, we felt really welcomed and privileged. This gentleman refused our offer of payment, until I pressed him, declaring we wanted to be his first paying customers. We will be following the progress of the mill. And this young man's hospitality really made our holiday. His name was Richard ? (I don't recall his surname - wish I did) He is a credit to Wales.

The beach is perhaps not as picturesque as others nearby but very few people seem to know about it, so often we had it to ourselves. It is safe for swimming, though it's a long walk to the water at low tide, is easily accessible on foot down a sheltered private lane between hedgerows and lined with meadow flowers going down to small dunes.

This lovely Anglesey cottage is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1849, and has been sympathetically restored to retain many original features, with exposed beams, sash windows, slate floors, and low doorways throughout.

This Anglesey cottage offers a fitted kitchen with pantry/utility room, a separate dining room with exposed beams, Rayburn stove and upright piano, and two delightful sitting rooms, allowing the adults to relax in one room, whilst the children play in the other.

Outside, this Anglesey cottage is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are fantastic views of Holyhead Bay and the cottage has its own private track down to the coast.
