Myself and my husband needed a quiet place to relax that was suitable for my limited mobility, and this property ticked all the boxes!
The welcome from the owners was warm and friendly, and the most generous welcome pack awaited us - including home made cake, eggs from their own free range chickens and bread (and a few chocolatey treats too).
Being used to going to places where you have to take all the basics, we were pleasantly surprised to find much of what we brought was already provided - tea coffee, sugar, cooking oil, foil etc (We are shielding, so didn't want to go out to eat). There was also hand sanitiser and basic cleaning materials too.
Due to the combination of covid restrictions and windy/wet weather, local cafes with safer outdoor seating had closed, so we were pleased to find the cottage also had a cafetiere to help my need for good coffee.
I have limited mobility and use a wheelchair when out and about. Although the cottage is not wheelchair accessible, it is perfect for those with limited mobility, even more so now they are about to fit a shower unit rather than the bath (with grab handles) that we had.
There is a large step to get it, but without hesitation, an extra shallow step was added to help my ability to get in - so if you book, do mention this if you need it.
There's lots of country lanes to walk along if you want fresh air (My wheelchair can do off road - so that worked for us on the few dry mornings we had!) and the sea is a very short drive away.
Be prepared for curious looks from the very free range chickens who kept us amused, as did the calves in the field opposite.
We'll be going back and have already recommended to other family members!
