  • "The cottage was so peaceful."

The kids loved the snug and the games were an added bonus and they spent hours just playing. The decked patio is such a sun trap and we sat for hours watching the kids play on the lawn. For a family break it was perfect, definitely a home for home. We would book again. Not a complaint or negative but needs a new hoover as it didn't work, with children and visiting the beech it is definitely needed.

  • "Thank you for a lovely cottage to stay in, once again we are not disappointed."

The views we had were brilliant. Did you know about the bat's from the nextdoor cottage? My hubby counted 140 from dusk, made his day. You can walk down to the beach but that hill is very steep for some people but hubby found another route back which was flatter. We visited our favourite beaches and our dog teddy loves them but not the sea. Lovely to go back to a homely house and chill, and being by the sea we were both really tired, and the beds provided were really comfy. We both love Anglesey and will be back in October with the family and we have booked with Sykes Cottages again. So thank you for a lovely cottage with no worries at all to stay in.

  • "The property seemed to be missing any apparent welcome book."

So we had to we work out how to operate things (devices, heating etc), what the cleaning requirement was for end of stay, and things not to do on property (eg. light a flame above the submerged gas tank in the garden which people might do innocently). There were a few points of decor that could use patching (dripping/very stiff taps, paintwork) but overall a very comfortable house. The massive lounge could accommodate chairs/table at the rear to make best use of that space. The house itself was lovely, great position and views. People would be well advised to avoid visiting with any low sports car given the final track after the tarmac has ended. We would happily return to the same location.

  • "The house lacks TLC, much of the furniture is tired and needs replacing (including chairs, carpets and mattresses); from the visitors' book this has been fed back over the past 2-3 years."

There are no mirrors in 2 of the bedrooms, or towel rails in the bathroom. The level of cleanliness wasn't great; all the windows have a build up of mould on the frames, the bi-fold doors had pet nose prints, the bedside tables were dusty and had pet hair on them. The baking trays were unusable, and the kettle leaked.

It is a lovely house, ideal for a family holiday. It is located close to the beach, it has lovely views and is very quiet. Just perfect. My only comment is in regards to the Directions. The “Pink Farmhouse” is no longer “Pink”. The whole experience has to be recommended.

House was spacious & comfortable ... lovely showers, comfy beds. Kitchen facilities were top notch, lovely cooker! Internet and phone service is very good (this mattered for our teenage twins!!). We had mixed weather during our stay... with a storm passing over for a couple of the days.... lovely and warm in the house. Happy to recommend.

The piece and quiet is wonderful and fantastic views. We love sitting in the garden and our dog Mishka loves it. Once again we have been very lucky with the weather. We have stayed in many placed in Anglesey and this is bar far our favourite. Hopefully back later in the year.

  • "The cottage and the location was beautiful and we had a great week."

There were a few things we felt could have been improved on before giving it 5 stars. One of the chairs in the kitchen was very uncomfortable and badly needs replacing. There was no bin liners when we arrived, only a dribble of soap in one bathroom and one full toilet roll. The fire didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while. Before we were able to use it we had to give it a good clean first. The vacuum does not work. There were no owners instructions in the property, so we had no idea when bin day was. We assumed the laundry bag left out was for linen and towels, but only knew this from going away last year. The curtain rail in the double back bedroom is coming away from the wall. None of the above stopped us from having a lovely holiday. Thank you.

The house is modern and clean and is a size that is just right for our young family and Collie dog. The location is perfect, outstanding in terms of tranquility and natural beauty. The beach is perfect for walking the dog; he loved the space in the secure garden area. We were lucky enough to have a few quiet and sunny evenings sat up on the house’s wonderful sun terrace too. Thanks once again for a lovely stay, we’ll be visiting again. Paul, Manchester

  • "We had a lovely week at Isfryn."

The location is fabulous, beautiful views. But... Track to the road is in definite need of improvement. The house was very spacious but very dated. Pretty much all of the bedrooms need updating. Really poor bedding and towels. Main bathroom shower was pretty grim. The door doesn't fit, on the shower cubicle and lots of mould. Third bedroom facilities were poor, no proper space for clothing. Not enough seating for six adults in the living room, even though there is plenty of space to have more.

  • "A fabulous house with fantastic views, so peaceful and remote."

Very comfortable and a beautiful well stocked kitchen. The beach was so quiet you felt you almost had it to yourself and the dog loved it. Just two things, the CD player did not work which was disappointing for my Dad as he had taken cd’s with him and they could do with some new bedding. The duvets were very thin and the bottom sheet on our bed did not fit and kept popping off at the corners, otherwise would have given this house a 10. It did not spoil our holiday though and would certainly return

  • "We had a wonderful holiday."

The cottage was great but a tricky road leading up as it needs repairs , if you have a low profile car such as a Mercedes you will struggle. Fantastic views sat in the garden, occasional pheasant for company. I would highly recommend the cottage, comfortable and safe. Plenty of space, good showers, well equipped kitchen. Village is small but you can get everything you need and the beach is around a ten minute walk from the house and beautiful.

  • "A lovely holiday getaway, especially during the Covid-19 times."

We found the house to be clean with plenty of soap and a sanitiser dispenser on arrival. It was spacious inside, all bedrooms a good size and beds were very comfy. Well equipped for children with high chair and stair gates and space for them to play in the lounge, with a smart TV with Netflix/prime enabled. Space to sit and play outside with amazing views of the beach, which was only 10 minutes walk away. Only suggestion really is to have more hooks to hang towels upstairs, none in the main bathroom and twin bedroom. Short drive to the house on the bumpy track would be tricky for low sports cars for example, but all other cars will be fine just take it slow! Finally, lots of places locally to visit (Just check on their websites about times and whether you need to book due to current situation) and not too far of a drive to get to the rest of Anglesey! Already recommended to our friends.

Local shops are a 5 minute drive. It’s close to Beaumaris/Menai for sightseeing and restaurants, but also close to Benllech if you need more of a beach holiday. I couldn’t think of a more ideal location in Anglesey! Isfryn itself is a fantastic house-well maintained, large, modern and clean with a lovely garden and sun terrace. Overall, it’s wonderfully peaceful-we had a very calm and relaxing week at this beautiful house. Paul, Manchester

  • "We have just returned from a weeks holiday in this cottage, we found the location perfect with easy access to the beach, the rough track up to the property wasn't as bad as we thought it would be reading previous reviews, yes it's bumpy, but we've had worse, there was a lady up the lane who sold chutney, pickled onions and the best strawberry jelly I've ever tasted, we bought something of everything and all for charity."

Beddgelert is a beautiful village in Snowdonia, the Fudge shop sells home made fudge in various flavours, the crumbly fudge is gorgeous. The biggest disappointment was the log burner in the cottage, it was unusable when we arrived completely black with soot, you couldn't see through the glass, I cleaned it out thoroughly and it still smoked us out the first night, I again cleaned it thoroughly, I got loads of soot out of the chimney, but then we just gave up with it because it smelled do strongly of soot, the chimney is well overdue for being cleaned, This was very disappointing as at this time if year an open fire or log burner is definitely a decider in our choice of Cottage, we have been on at least a dozen Sykes holidays and this is the first time I have had cause for complaint. The owner of the property did not contact us before, during or after our holiday. The range cooker was not very efficient, the main oven took an age to cook anything, the small cooker to the side was better, not all the gas rings worked. The lounge could do with some pictures or ornaments, it looks very sparse, upstairs looks very tired, I feel that they haven't done anything to this cottage for a long time and are just cashing in on it's location. Overall I would not in good conscience be able to recommend this cottage to family or friends until the problems that I have highlighted had been addressed

We are so sorry to hear you had problems with the fire and cooker we were unaware of these issues. We have now got both of these problems in hand . Thank you also for your other comments we are always glad to have feed back from our guests. We will be looking at your suggestions and certainly be giving the upstairs a refresh . Apologies once again for your problems. Property Owner

  • "We had a power cut for a full day whilst we were there."

We spoke to a neighbour and were told that all property owners had been notified that the power would be off on that day from 9.00 m to 4.30pm. Unfortunately on that particular day we had arranged for friends to visit us for a meal. This had to be cancelled and we ate out. We couldn't shower or even make a cup of tea as the gas ignition wouldn't work and we needed to go into Pentraeth to buy a box of matches as there were none in the house. The owner of the property apologised via Sykes but he said that he had no prior knowledge of the cut. The fact is that everybody was informed even if it didn't get through to the owner. I asked for compensation of £50. In the end after negotiation through Sykes, I got £25 which I think is a paltry amount for a whole day (and food as well) spoiled. Ultimately somebody was responsible - where does the buck stop. All of that said, we did enjoy the rest of our holiday and it is a lovely house in a beautiful area

  • "The cottage was warm and comfortable and we had a lovely time with the whole family."

However, I would say that this is not a house for 6 people - it's a house for 4 adults and 2 children! The twin-bedded room was deceptive in the photograph and was very much smaller than we anticipated. There was also nowhere to put clothes apart from a rather wobbly cheap unit of 3 small shelves with canvas cover over the top. We also had a problem opening the key safe as the 4th button of the key code would not work. In the end, after struggling, we managed to open it by pressing all 4 buttons at the same time, but this took two people to open it! It definitely needs replacing. The only other thing that would stop us coming here again was the access road. The instructions said a stony track! They did not say it was a very rough track full of pot-holes and made getting up and down to the cottage difficult, unless you were in a 4x4! We scraped the bottom of our cars on several occasions despite driving carefully and trying to keep one set of wheels on the raised grass bit in the middle!!
