  • "Absolutely fabulous we have had the most wonderful time at this beautiful house."

Everything we could have possibly wanted was there and although the weather could have been kinder we had a lovely time. We loved the location of the house, all its excellent facilities, it’s proximity to the beach, the lovely walks, the daily Seal hunts, the wonderful sea views, hot tub, sauna I could go on and on all in all highly recommended .

Hi Margaret - thank you so much for your very kind review, we are so pleased you had a good time with your family. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Best wishes Emma and family Property Owner

  • "The house is beautiful, spacious, well-equipped and the location is simply perfect."

My dream home on a beach. We slept so well after being out all day long and the weather was even sunny and dry enough for us to paddleboard, kayak and swim. Knowing that there was a warm shower, sauna and hot tub to warm up in was worth that initial cold shock from the sea! Our dogs had the time of their life on the beach and with the beautiful coastal walking. We had planned to eat out at local restaurants but only managed to tear ourselves away from the kitchen and stunning views once (we had dinner at the White Eagle - lovely food and the dogs were made very welcome). I would definitely recommend getting a supermarket home delivery to bring everything to the door for when you arrive....you really won't want to leave!

  • "The property and its location were just so, so special!"

I don't think either could be bettered and the photos really don't do justice to the stunning rooms and the extensive equipment. We were a family of 10 spanning three generations aged 12 to 76. There was something to delight each of us and it seemed every little thing that would enhance our stay had been provided. Even a pair of binoculars strategically placed beside a balcony window. The younger element of the group were thrilled by the contents of the "shed" and put the wet suits to use. They also loved escaping to their very own snug lounge when the rest of us were heading for bed! We all enjoyed the hot tub, silly games round the table after dinner, late night football on the telly, toasted marshmallows on the BBQ and, us older ones, the cosy log fire with cheese and port! We all agree that we would love to return.

  • "A truly wonderful setting for a family gathering."

Easily one of the best houses we have ever stayed at. My brother described it well - “it’s on another level to nice!” We were a family group comprising of grandparents, their children and the grandchildren. The house catered for all ages and is finished to a very high standard. It is big and we’ll laid out, giving everyone plenty of space and a number of different living spaces. The views are amazing and all together this makes for a pretty special stay. Would highly recommend!

  • "Glan Towyn is amazing!"

We spent a fantastic long weekend with a group of friends at the house. The owners have created a modern, contemporary but also a traditional luxury home. It really is amazing in real life! Upon arrival were we overwhelmed with Glan Towyn and quickly felt relaxed and so at home there. The kitchen wanted for nothing and the views from both balconies in the daylight are stunning. The house is decorated in William Morris furnishings which we are now all in love with. It is literally 2 minutes walk to the beach and 5 minutes to the White Eagle pub. For a winter or summer destination Glan Towyn really does tick all the boxes for all generations. We walked the coastal path to Treaddur Bay and the scenery is breathtaking. The owners have created a holiday haven. We all enjoyed the game’s room, the sauna and hot tub. All bedrooms are super luxurious and with two fantastic lounges plus a snug there is always a quiet place to sit and relax by the log burners. We really cannot fault Glan Towyn and would love to return there year and year. Thank you to the Nikols family for thinking of everything that really does make a holiday perfect! An amazing gem in beautiful Rhoscolyn.

  • "This property exceeded our expectations."

The pictures do not do it justice. We were a large group of friends with children of varying ages and everything was thought of, from sleeping arrangements to buckets, spades and wetsuits for a picturesque trip to the beach. I received a couple of extremely helpful and informative emails direct from the owner prior to my arrival and any questions I had were quickly responded to. The house is unique and idyllic and the little welcome package was the icing on the cake. We are really excited to book here again.

  • "What a wonderful week we have had in this beautiful house."

It is surrounded by beautiful scenery and walks. The house itself is perfect for a family with its many rooms (for some grandchildren to escape to!). The games room was used every day as was the sauna. The kitchen is well stocked with two fridges, two dish washers in fact everything that we needed. The owners have carefully thought about their guests’ comfort and enjoyment. Even though some days the weather was not so kind we spent a wonderful week, exploring the area and if we were wet through could come back to a house which was warm and comfortable and accommodated our every needs. If l could give it more than ten out of ten, l would.

Where else can you find a truly beautiful house, on the nicest little beach on Anglesey and only a 5 minute walk to a great pub? Not only that but everyone in Rhoscolyn is so friendly. We spent a the entire week (again) going between the beach, and the gorgeous and comfy balcony, breaking routine only to walk to the pub. It’s a perfect swimming beach if you don’t mind sharing the sea with the seals. Seal watching In the evenings in the setting sun is memorable. Our dogs adore it too.

Every little detail has been thought about and considered with great care, you could not want for more, or fault any aspect of this truly spectacular beach house. The provided watersports equipment were a hit with the entire family and a great touch to make this stay extra special. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything you could ever need, it is rare to find a let so well equipped. • "Glan Towyn is an amazing house set in an amazing location just a stones-throw from the beach."

The owners have thought of just about everything to make the holiday as enjoyable as possible. It takes something pretty special to excite teenagers but the kids in our group just wandered around the house shouting 'look at this' to just about everything. The games room became their sanctuary, playing pool, table tennis and darts. The rest of the house is just as special, with everything you could think of on-hand. The kitchen/diner area is vast with amazing views in all directions leading onto two raised terraces allowing the outside to come inside, or vice versa. The sheds house paddleboards, wetsuits, a great barbeque that cooked a paella brilliantly and even a sauna. The hot tub was spotless and the water changed weekly. The owners and housekeeping staff really went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and we couldn't praise them enough. The downside of having such as special house on such a lovely cove is that we didn't get to explore Anglesey much. We will definitely go back to Glan Towen and for longer than a week so we can explore further afield. Congratulations to the owners for creating and sharing such an amazing place.

About the location

RHOSCOLYN

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 3 miles; Holyhead 5 miles.

Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!
