"My second time staying at Ty Woods."
It is in a lovely location just a five minute walk from Rhoscolyn Beach and with the whole south/west of the island within easy reach. Shopping for provisions is good with two stores a short drive away and a Tesco Extra a 15 minute drive. There's a dog friendly restaurant/pub just 200yds away (book in advance - the White Eagle is always busy, even in off season.)
The cottage itself is spacious, clean, tidy and well presented with everything you could need for a comfortable week away. In particular the kitchen now has a dishwasher (bring tabs) washing machine and tumble dryer plus the usual accessories. In the lounge I see the TV has been upgraded since my last visit and is now a large screen Hitachi complete with a basic Sky TV package. There is a Netflix link on the remote and if you already have the service at home you can log into your account here to use whilst away from home, but don't forget to log out at the end of your stay!
All in all, a lovely week away. Thank you!

"What a fantastic week, the weather was beautiful, the views from the property are panoramic and the only thing I didn't find in the kitchen was a sieve, very well equipped."
Make sure you take the basics as there was no welcome pack at all and you are miles from shops. There wasnt the expected fire starting pack. when I asked about it I was told it was stopped to prevent spreading Covid however 2 brand new copies of magazines were provided, puzzling choice.
Lovely spot, cracking views, could do with sprucing up.

"If you want a break of everything is perfect."
It is a really quiet location. You only need to be careful with the roads, there is only space for 1 car at a time.
The cottage is really cute, but you need to update the pictures on your web.The bedrooms were enough for an holiday and had plenty of storage.
In the kitchen we could find everything that was great.
It needed to be a bit more cleaned, there was lots of cob webs especially in the leaving room. Because the floors are so light they get dirty quick we end up buying a mop and cleaning frequently.
The weather wasn’t to great and we find out that 1 of the windows in the living room couldn’t get shut, and we forgot to mention when someone come to the door and asked if all was ok.

"To begin with no instructions on the TV or central heating which the owner's son rectified mid-day Sunday."
We found the seating uncomfortable for us at our age, the leather suite was too low and the other sofa too nigh and too far back to sit in it. The leather suite had a cover on which was well and truly stuck and surely should have been washed between visitors
The lighting in the cottage was four pairs in the lounge - of which only one bulb working in each pair making 4 lamps in total.
In the kitchen the front three lamps one was not working where the back 3 only had one bulb working.
We did not appreciate the beautiful views around affected by the hideous, wreck of a caravan which from your photo showed no sign of its decrepit and disgusting state.
We appreciate the lady owner is ill, housebound and receiving home care but I am only just mobile after a fall and I had a job with two sticks getting over the gravel from the car to the cottage, I would suggest that other less mobile visitors were pre-warned.

Ty Wood cottage is in a quite location but only 10 minutes drive from shops and 20 minutes from things to do. It as beautiful views of the sea and an abundance of wildlife. The cottage is well equipped and very clean. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and you can used the field next to the cottage to exercise your dog which is very handy. There is a pub just a few minutes walk which is dog friendly and the staff were welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again.

"What a fantastic place!"
We could happily move here for good. Rhoscolyn is a fabulous base from which to explore the coastal path. It was a bit to cold (February) to sit on the decking for breakfast and dinner but the views and wildlife are an added bonus.
This is one of our top holiday stays and can’t recommend it highly enough.

"We complained, nothing happened."
The place was reasonable but grubby, filthy and neglected. Shame as location was perfect. It is at odds with your image. Have now moved to South Wales to another cottage for the next week and it is chalk and cheese, clean, well furnished and homely, what I was expecting from Sykes, sadly not be.

"This was a lovely cottage in a lovely location with views of the sea and Snowdonia from some windows and from the decking."
It was great to be so close to the beach. The owner was friendly and helpful and lives next door, though we didn't actually know that at first so that could have been made clearer, unless we missed something in the pre-stay emails. The oven wasn't working but she had already asked an engineer to see to it and that happened as quickly as practicable given it was a bank holiday. A couple of minor things- a full size cafetiere or coffee maker would have been good as we were 4 coffee drinkers and there was only a 1 cup cafetiere. And the shower leaked through the join onto the floor. Not big things but just to mention.

Situated just across from the owners property but totally peaceful and restful. The owner was on hand with some general advice and local knowledge but was totally unobtrusive.10 minutes walk to a nice, dog friendly beach and just 2 minutes from one of the best pub/restaurants (also dog friendly) in the area. A visit it highly recommended.

"Had an amazing holiday, perfect location for peace & quiet."
Views are wonderful which meant we rarely had the tv on. Walk in shower was top notch. Kitchen well equipped. Plenty of wood for lighting the fire three nights although we only lit it on two occasions. Mobile phone signal not good......... perfect :-) although we missed the turn off at first and couldn't ring to see where we had gone wrong fortunately going back up the road it was more obvious. Wifi was handy for keeping in touch with people. V short walk to the pub which was excellent and the beach was wonderful. Would not hesitate to come back.

"We have been renting cottages in the UK for a number of years now and we can honestly say that Ty Woods is one of the best value for money cottages we have stayed in."
The cottage itself was very roomy inside, had two good-sized patios outside and a field alongside which our dog Pip loved. The location was perfect: hidden down a quiet country lane two minutes from a lovely beach and even closer to one of the best pubs on the island. The views from the cottage looking out towards the beach were fantastic and the cottage was easily the best equipped we've ever stayed in. Carole Ann was the perfect host, friendly yet just letting us get on with our holiday without any fuss. We don't often re-visit cottages but we will definitely be returning to Ty Woods.

The cottage was quaint and location perfect, 1 minute walk to the pub and just a couple of minutes to the beach with lovely coastal walks and country walks in all directions.
The garden was not enclosed but had lovely decking outside the lounge and the only snag we had was that there was no gate to keep our dog safe from running off, although our dog always stays close by to us it would have been nice just to let him walk around the decking area without having to keep an eye on him continuously. But all in all we would definitely return as everything else was perfect.
