  • "A lovely place to stay, great accommodation everything you need with fantastic views of the Menai Straights with glorious sunsets."

Anglesey and Snowdonia mountains very close by and a fantastic Chinese takeaway down the road, what’s not too like, thoroughly enjoyed our week there

  • "The property was mainly nice."

We found the sofa very uncomfortable and we kept slipping forward. The area around the dishwasher was grubby especially around the hinges and the wall. However we did enjoy our holiday but the property just needs a spruce up. X

It is really well situated with good road connections. The village has a good range of places to eat. The owner popped by too. We will definitely go back there next time we go to North Wales.

  • "After staying at many 5 star properties we were disappointed by this one so i will be truthful on how we found it,on entering the bathroom no toilet rolls were provided and the shower mat was left covered in black mould and obviously was not checked, to be fair the owners removed it after being told and provided toilet rolls and did apologize but never replaced the mat,it should have been checked prior to our arrival, the radiator in the bathroom was rusty not exactly what you expect to see when paying for a premium property."

The duvet cover on our bedding did not smell fresh which left the bedroom with a odour .Trying to watch a tv program over the internet was met by constant buffering so pretty pointless,On the plus side the views were stunning from the patio and the owners were very pleasant they did buy us flowers and chocolates to apologize for the problems

  • "A super property, well presented with extensive views over Anglesey and the Menai Straits."

Very private and quiet. You need to pick your way carefully up the approach track but it is not really a problem. Superb location with Llanberis (Snowdon) about 8 miles away and Caernarfon, Conwy and Bangor not much further. A perfect base for exploring Snowdonia. The weather favoured us and we had a marvellous holiday. Thoroughly recommended.

The pictures on your website didn't really show the close proximity of the owners house so that was a surprise the owners in fairness were great and there weren't any issues and it didn't effect the view so honesty is the best policy in that case as for the property it was lovely new and clean probably the only thing I can think of as an improvement would be a tv in the kitchen the TV point and socket are already there location wise it was brilliant and that's why we picked it easy access for angelsey the lleyn Peninsula, llanddudno and port merion which visited on the Tuesday highly recommended for our anniversary

  • "Accommodation was as described."

Very clean and tidy with plenty of room, but possibly suited to a couple with younger legs than ours, as the spiral stairs to the lounge were very tight and quite steep. Very comfortable furniture, in particular the bed. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay, even with the partial lockdown.

  • "On arriving the cottage was very cold and all downstairs floors still wet."

One bed room wall has mould all around the window and the one behind the bed has wallpaper starting to peel off. The kitchen... Microwave has rust inside the door. The markings on the cooker are all rubbed off and you are left with a piece of paper to fathom it out. There is a wet patch above the patio doors and there are rust patches on the washing machine. Upstairs there is a new smart tv but the wifi connection makes it immpossible to watch anything unless you are prepared to sit all night while it buffers its way through a programme. On Tuesday night my wife turned round to see a large snail making its way along the wall behind the sofa.. A measure of how damp the building is !!! The bathroom is on the small side though adequate .. But the extractor fan was filthy with cobwebs. All in all this is NOT the five star accommodation that i expected to find when i arrived and well below the standard of all the other Sykes cottages we have rented over the last few years.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are really sorry to hear that the property was not as expected and as we are ‘onsite’ we would have been happy to address any issues that you had during your stay if we had been made aware of them. We have been here over 12 years and pride ourselves on providing a comfortable stay for our guests and our visitor’s book that is in the property confirms this. Our normal check in time is 3pm, however as you arrived an hour early our cleaner was keen to accommodate your early arrival, but she was still working the floor was wet. It also meant that she was unable to give the premises the final once over and refill tea/coffee etc. In addition, the heating is on a timer and would have come on prior to your 3.00pm arrival to ensure the property was nice and warm, but this had not happened as you arrived early. This property was renovated/built in 2010 following strict building regulations and we can confirm that it is not damp. There were some condensation spots on the wall due to a lack of ventilation but these spots have now been cleaned. The small areas where wallpaper had started to peel have been addressed and as we are now at the end of the season any areas that need decoration or touching up will now be done. The microwave has now been replaced and as the property is in a rural area the wifi can be a little inconsistent but we have had no previous concerns from guests. The dials on the cooker are worn but are clearly labelled on a laminated piece of card. Thank you again for your feedback Property Owner

Very helpful and friendly owners. The spiral stairs upto the lounge may be a bit tight for some visitors. The last 100-200 yards are across a roughish farm track. There is a pathway down to the village shop/ pub but appears rather steep.

  • "We had a fantastic week at Ysgubor Penrallt - this is a perfect property to explore the superb North Wales area."

The location is excellent and there is a nearby pub (The Garddfon) which does excellent food (booking recommended as it was very busy even in June) - the property has excellent kitchen facilities, eating in is like being at home. The route down to the village is pretty steep but the upside of that is the views over the Menai Strait are stunning. Bed comfortable, shower excellent. The proprietors are friendly and very helpful - we would highly recommend this property and will consider staying there again the future.

  • "This cottage is a bit more expensive than those we usually book."

You are paying for the view and because it is a spacious and bright conversion. The view of the Menai Straights isn't panoramic as the owner's house blocks half of it. The patio would be superb on a warm summers day. The furniture and equipment was adequate. I'm not sure if the antique colour TV was supposed to be a feature or not?
