"Had a great stay here."
Few minor issues but mostly good. First of all it's clear previous feedback on this stay has been taken into consideration for example there are now wine glasses and regular TV as well as Netflix also. the place was exceptionally clean, nice touches chocolates and a welcome pack including for the dog etc. Now upon arrival, I used the key code emailed to me by Sykes. I received no other email or information from anyone else. Turns out this code was wrong. I did have to ring the number also multiple times to receive a response and get the right code. So this was slightly annoying. The place was very clean, welcome packs on arrival. There was everything you could need, cooker , hob , clean fridge, cleaning products, and cook ware. Board games provided as well as books and movies also. The bathroom was clean and accessible except for one step up to it. Shower was warm and powerful. Soap and shampoo provided. The toilet did have a bit of an awkward flush but nothing major. The bedrooms were clean and well kept. The beds were super comfy. Lots of storage space . Only things were that the tv in one of the bedrooms wasn't working and there are no sockets beside the beds, this meant no bedside lamps and no bedside charging of phones. We did solve this by using an extension cable. The garden. I had really high hopes, it has much since run down since the images were taken. It's a shame as it had so much potential but just hasn't been maintained. The grass was long, there was lots of bits and pieces of garden junk lying about, fungi growing in the grass, please be careful if bringing a pet!! The garden was mostly secure but there were gaps small dogs can get through and the wooden gate to the side of the properly doesn't lock at all and would constantly open. Please if you are bringing a dog secure the garden , have a walk round and maybe don't let them out alone as the cars fly past on the road. There was glass lying on the grass from were the greenhouse used to be, rusted basket ball hoops and football nets and a random rusted campervan sitting in the drive. There is a hot tub but this was not working on our stay and we were also not told about it being broken either, so this was a let down. The house itself is in good distance from places. 20 mins took us to Ayr with all the supermarkets could need. 1 hour 30 took us to Edinburgh. 50 mins to Glasgow. There's a lovely house and gardens only 15 mins away for a walk also. The village of Mauchline was sweet and only 5 mins away with a local shop, butchers and takeaways. All in all, a good stay and I would recommend it. A few minor improvements and this place would be perfect !

"Arrived at 3pm to find property hadn't been cleaned or beds changed."
Phoned contact number and spoke to maintenance team, who were on the way from Fife. Did call Sykes when they hadn't arrived by 5pm, who couldn't get answer as it was after 5pm also, maintenance team arrived about 6.15pm and were lovely. To be fair once they arrived, with lovely flowers and welcome pack for dog and us, they left place cleaner. However, I'm a bit concerned by the fact that the smoke alarm at the bedroom end of property has been removed. The sun room is full of dead bluebottles, so is unusable. All the outside bins are full to overflowing, had to just use whichever bin had least in it, bin days would be helpful information in info pack. Property served it's purpose, lovely and quiet on fireworks night, had a happy dog. Though It is a bit isolated. Property had big secure garden, but is let down by broken furniture, planters and is generally untidy. People please pick up after your dogs, so that others don't have too. Oh and the tap in the kitchen is still dripping !!!
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay. We value your insights as they help us continue to improve our service. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced due to the late arrival of the maintenance team. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, they are currently being looked into and an action plan being put together to prevent these issues arising in the future. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with a better experience. Property Owner

"Overall the property was really lovely, it was let down by some smaller issues though."
There was no welcome/info folder, property owner advised that it was being updated however having read a review from last month there wasn’t one then either. We holiday twice a year in the UK and have done for 5+ years and never not had a folder with useful property and local information. There is no normal TV, all done through catch up apps - again if there was a welcome/info pack we would have found this out sooner and not had to contact the property owner. Also, if people staying here do not have catch up accounts, you cannot watch anything. Many lights missing bulbs or just not working, the one in the porch by the front door meaning when you arrive back in the dark you cannot see well at all. Also, bedside lamps would be great! Only 2 bulbs out of the 5 in the living room light were working. Had to hunt for crockery as there was non in the cupboard, then found it all set up in the conservatory, which is a lovely touch but maybe get more so people do not have to ferry the plates etc to the kitchen. Having cameras set up in the garden was a little off putting, granted they may not be in use when the property is occupied but it made us feel a little uncomfortable. Unable to turn some of the radiators off and unable to locate a thermostat. Also, not the greatest welcome when both dustbins overflowing with rubbish out the front and bags of rubbish left next to the bins.

"Although the property was as listed there were issues."
1) Although the back garden was enclosed by fencing the back gate was broken off allowing access of any dogs to the road. We had to make a temporary fix by propping the gate up with wheely bins to keep our dog safe. 2) Boiler was not providing hot water until following remote guidance from property manager we re pressurised the boiler. 3) TV does not do main channels such as BBc ITV etc. 4) No normal wine glasses we went French and used tumblers. 5) No local information at all in the home 6) I booked the property through VRBO, I sent a couple of queries through the VRBO site before we arrived, they have never been responded to. On the whole we did like the house
