"A very comfortable lodge that is very clean, well equipped, and with beautiful views from the lounge/ front decking area on clear days."
It is furnished really nice and for the time of year was lovely and warm. It is in a good location for local walks especially the walk through the forest to Rockcliffe which starts at the top of the coastal park. Kippford itself is only around 15 minutes walk with a nice dog friendly pub (The Anchor). The only minus was the WiFi was weak and didn’t work very well at all but this wasn’t a major problem for us.
"We loved our stay at Oyster Lodge."
The accommodation is exceptionally clean, comfortable and has everything we were looking for in terms of equipment and location (the views are beautiful
Clean and comfortable and everything you need provided. Stunning views. Might be worth a mention the site next door is the same post code so this is where sat. nav, initially sent us but soon remedied :)
"I have downrated “comfort” only because the king-size bed mattress was rather soft and probably needs to be replaced."
In all other respects the lodge was immaculate, well appointed and really comfortable, with lovely homely touches in the decor, pictures and lovely nick-knacks. We thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay at Oyster Bay Lodge.
"Lovely property, magnificent view from the seating area."
A couple of small things need fixing up but generally excellent. Also really quiet, lovely walks and just up the road to the beach at SunnyHills. We Lso visited Bainloch Deer Park which is a magnificent experience. All in all a lovely relaxing week.

Beautiful lodge clean and everything we needed was there a great stay only minor was the hedge in front of the decking you could not see the beautiful view
"Oyster bay Lodge was amazing- better than we expected."
Spotlessly clean and everything you could possibly imagine was provided. Beautiful open plan kitchen and living area. My children enjoyed playing outside on the deck. Such a lovely, peaceful setting. We walked down to Kippford - quite a steep walk back pushing a buggy! We particularly enjoyed a breakfast and 4x4 tour around Bainloch deer park- less than 10 min away.
"Oyster Bay is a clean and comfortable lodge."
Facilities are very good. The lodge park is lovely too. Ideally situated for exploring Dumfries and Galloway.
"An amazing place to stay the lodge was beautiful Very well equipped and very comfy Thank You"
"Lovely comfortable and well equipped lodge with beautiful views and scenery."
The park is very steep if you have mobility issues.
"Lovely lodge on an amazing holiday park, 2nd visit and would have no problem rebooking but it would be nice to see new mattresses on all the beds."
Thank you for your comments. Just to let you know we have now bought new mattresses for the single beds and have also had the sofa cushions cleaned and the back rests renewed. Property Owner
"Very comfortable holiday home."
Great location and beautiful views. Everything we needed was in place. Couldn't fault it.
"Fantastic lodge in a great location, everything we needed was catered for on a lovely site with breathtaking views."
Loved our stay, if you haven't been then you must.
Had an great week away from all the hustle and bustle of life. Dogs loved it and great woodland walks.
"Lovely lodge in fab location."
Great facilities and super clean. Will definitely book again
"A home from home is what to expect at Oyster Bay Lodge."
The open plan setting of the living/kitchen area is perfect. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need, breakfast bar for 2 and dining table for 4 people. Plenty seating on comfortable sofas to chill and watch the flat screen TV of an evening. Double bedroom with en-suite was comfortable AND a walk in wardrobe was a welcome surprise. Would definitely recommend this accommodation. A particular nod to the owner Andy who helped us out greatly. We were caught in some bad weather and he organised transport for my girlfriend and dogs while I waited to be recovered. First class *****
"The lodge was wonderful."
It's light, airey, very comfortable and the facilities available were way more than I expected. The open plan living area and kitchen had everything and more than I could have wanted with great views through the picture windows. I didn't use the patio equipment as I was there in December. It may have been bitterly cold outside but I was cosy inside. There was plenty of lighting in the bedroom, which makes a change to many other places I have stayed. The en-suite has a really good shower and a modern table top style sink. I liked that, not necessary but just gave that feeling of quality and style. Lashings of hot water. The bed was so comfy too and I slept really well as a result. The park is beautifully laid out on a steep hill meaning that the lodges are each in their own little spot with nearby ones being either above or below so there are neighbours but there is privacy. I loved the fact that there was a box of dog biscuits for the 4 legged residents! The whole experience was such a pleasant surprise. Would I book this lodge again. DEFINITELY!
"Nice lodge on a beautiful site however there was a lot of dog hair which came up ..."
Nice lodge on a beautiful site however there was a lot of dog hair which came up in clumps when you walked around the carpets with trainers on, although we had a dog with us the hair was long and light coloured Perhaps you require a more powerful vacuum cleaner (or a more powerful cleaner) to ensure that it has all gone before the next guests arrive Other than that is is a lovely lodge
"Lovely well equipped very comfortable property, comfortable beds, and constant hot water with two very powerful showers and a bath."
In a lovely location and very close to the beautiful Kippford sea front with great walks from your door.
"Nice location, great views very peacefull, quiet, nice relaxing week."
"Kippford Coastal is a lovely park."
The lodges and caravans are well spaced and shrubbery ensures privacy. Oyster Bay lodge was a beautiful well equipped property providing comfort and catering for our every need. It was in a great position on the park with fabulous views to the distant hills. A great place to relax. To be fair I think our two grandchildren aged 12 and 10 found it a bit quiet compared to some parks we have stayed on but they spent some time most days on the assault course and using the football nets. All told it was a great holiday and for the first time in many visits to Scotland we didn't see a spot of rain which was a great bonus.
"Lovely luxury Holiday Home, enjoyed our time there, weather was pretty mixed, but plenty places to visit."
I would highly recommend this lodge, we will be returning in the near future.
"Lovely spacious lodge and well equipped."
Comfortable bed and big walk in wardrobe. Enjoyed another smashing week in Oyster Bay Lodge.
"Perfect location for a quiet peaceful holiday."
Great forest walks and beautiful scenery. We will definitely be going back. Owner has thought of everything even biscuits left for our dog. Really nice touches. Home from home.
"Very comfortable lodge with amazing views."
Loved the enclosed deck for relaxing with our dog. Perfect for exploring the Solway coast. Would love to stay again and will definitely recommend.
"The lodge has everything needed for a comfortable holiday."
....great base for exploring the area.
Lovely view from the property across to the hills. Great walks locally and a local pub that does fantastic food. Extremely comfortable inside the property with plenty of room especially as there were only two of us. Well located for Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright which are both well worth visiting even early in the season when not everything is yet open.
"Wonderful lodge, everything needed and more."
Feeling at home as soon as one enters. Magical place, makes you feel good instantly. Fantastic view from lodge. Thanks for sharing.
"Lovely comfortable accommodation with fantastic views from the lounge."
Plenty of room with each of the bedrooms having walk in wardrobes. We are looking forward to our return in May.
"The place was fantastic peaceful and quiet I will be back"
"Fab week at this lovely lodge Very clean , home from home and spectacular views ..."
Fab week at this lovely lodge Very clean , home from home and spectacular views of sunsets Easy walking to local pubs / cafes and in a beautiful area Will definitely be back Thankyou
"Lovely lodge with great access to coastal and forest walks."
Managed to spot red squirrels and deer in the forest behind the lodge.
"The accommodation was excellent in general, spacious, clean."
We only had a couple of minor concerns that could improve the rental. An iron & ironing board would be useful & bigger bath towels. Besides this we were very happy with our holiday & the rental
"Beautiful clean site but too quiet."
Quiet steep in places like the walk upto the dog walks.
"The accommodation itself was great - the holiday park did not have any shop for small provisions which would have helped as the nearest town wasn't that close."
"Absolutely fabulous lodge well maintained and fully equipped everything you ..."
Absolutely fabulous lodge well maintained and fully equipped everything you needed was provided set in a beautiful area just love Kippford one of our favourite destinations in a peaceful area
"Lovely lodge with everything you needed for the perfect stay, lots of great walks would recommend"
"This is a lovely lodge on a pristine holiday park The views are breathtaking and the outside decking area is enclosed and not directly overlooked, so felt private and safe for our dog."
The gas barbecue is an added bonus and it was lovely sitting out on a night and having our breakfast in the sun on a morning. There were lots of walks from the park, including the forest walk to Kippford, where there were two decent pubs, both dog friendly. The park itself is on quite a steep hill, which could be a problem for some people, although it was easy to drive round. The lodge had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean, very comfortable and well equipped. We had a lovely stay and didn’t want to leave. Highly recommended!

Dalbeattie 3.8 miles.
Found in the lovely Coastal Kippford holiday park, near the town of Dalbeattie in Scotland, you will find this beautifully decorated two-bedroom lodge, with outstanding views to the distant hills and countryside.
The lodge would be the ideal setting for a family holiday, a couple’s getaway, or even a reunion of friends, thanks to its large open-plan living space.
After an afternoon of walking to the nearby lochs, head back over to Oyster Bay Lodge, kick off your boots on the decking and step into the living area, where you can find an inviting sofa arrangement to curl up on in front of a film on the wall-mounted television.
The electric fire can provide some extra warmth on a chilly evening, whilst the dinner is being prepared in the kitchen; the chef of the group will love cooking up a storm on the 8-ring gas hob that sits atop the double oven.
The rest of the party can eagerly wait for their meal at the dining table, with enough seating for a few extra friends to pop by for the evening.
When it's time to say goodnight, you can choose from two well-presented bedrooms; a double with en-suite shower, basin and WC and a twin room, both complete with walk-in wardrobe space for all of your personal items.
The bathroom that serves the twin room benefits from a bath with a shower over, so you can take it slow with an indulgent soak, or get ready in a flash with a quick shower, the choice is yours!
The outside decked area has a fantastic barbecue for when the sun is shining, with table and chairs for some alfresco dining, all you need is a cold drink in hand!
One of Scotland's prettiest seaside villages on the shore of the estuary of the River Urr, there are many things to do in the local area including coastal and forest walks, golf, cycling, fishing and sailing.
For a day out, head over to Threave Castle, only accessible by boat as it's situated on an island in the middle of the River Dee, it was built back in the 14th century by the Lord of Galloway at the time, it is sure to impress.
Oyster Bay Lodge is a wonderful property, perfect for a break away with your loved ones to take in the beauty of Scotland.

About the location
Castle Douglas 6 miles; Kirkcudbright 13.5 miles; Dumfries 14 miles.
The attractive country town of Dalbeattie nestles in the south west of Scotland. The town sits within a wooded valley on the River Urr and provides access to the picturesque Solway Coast with its miles of beaches and pretty fishing villages. Dalbeattie is originally known for its granite quarry, which exported stone all over the world, most notably for the Eddystone Lighthouse and Thames Embankment. Today it is renowned for its outdoor activities with the world famous 7stanes mountain biking complex nearby as well as forest walks in Glentrool, where you can follow in the footsteps of Richard Hannay in The Thirty Nine Steps. Dalbeattie and the surrounding area offer panoramic views of the Solway Firth, the Lake District and the Galloway Hills. A great location, which has something for everyone.
