"Outstanding cottage, really well equipped with everything you could need, stunning location."
Lovely owners. Quiet and great for wildlife watching. Great for several couples or a family as lots of space and you can almost have 2 separate areas. Walks and cycling from the door, highly recommended. Already booked to go back!
"Cottage very comfortable and clean and inviting but the water system was awkward to negotiate at times."
Some minor issues like absence of draining board and a wooden cutting board in the kitchen. Apart from that a very nicely set up cottage. Extraordinary access to view some rare wildlife. Close cottage environs well laid out and thoughtfully designed. Low-slung cars beware of pot holes driving up to the cottage.
"Such a peaceful location with plenty of wildlife."
The house has been beautifully restored and well equipped for a comfortable stay. This was our 4th visit to this property and we hope to return again next year.
"Wonderful place to get away from it all."
Beautiful well kept comfy house and stunning gardens. The owner, Keith, is easy to contact, replies quickly and is very helpful. Water system takes a bit of getting used to, but fine as long as you remember to keep the pump going! Absolutely loved our stay and hope to return sometime.
"Lovely cottage, beautifully furnished and in a peaceful location."
"Beautiful house, been six times so far."
Peaceful and full of wild life.
"An all round excellent stay in a beautiful, comfortable cottage with a delightful remote setting."
We really enjoy staying here and will definitely be returning. The local wildlife was fantastic even late in the year, deer, fox, pine marten and owls. Highly recommended if you want to get away to peaceful surroundings
"Fantastic 2nd stay at this amazing cottage, well equipped, lovely furnishings and spotlessly clean."
Grounds are amazing with wonderful wildlife from small garden birds to buzzards and owls, pine martins, deers, foxes and a shy red squirrel, great to enjoy peace and quiet with just the bird song to listen to. Lovely fire pit area to watch stars sparkle away whilst listening to the owls, Meet both the owners one day and both are very friendly and very helpful . Loads of paths from the cottage and many more in Glentrool about 5-10 min drive away, many waterfalls at the Wood of Cree
"A comfortable and well appointed cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location."
Our third time here and hopefully we will be back!
"Loved the cottage and the grounds."
We didn’t use the car the whole time we were there. A very special place.
"Probably sounds like a cliché, but did not want to leave."
The peace, quiet, sheer tranquility, bliss!
"This is an exceptional cottage where great attention has been paid to detail; everything you could need is provided and is of top quality."
The setting of the property is idyllic, surrounded by woodland and wildlife. We loved watching the birds, deer, pine marten and squirrels. We would not hesitate in recommending this cottage and intend to return ourselves. The owners are very professional and offer exceptional customer service.
Thank you for your feedback we are so glad you enjoyed your time at Corrafeckloch Property Owner
"I will definitely visit this cottage in the future."
A really nice cottage in a beautiful setting.
Thank you for your feedback, we look forward to welcoming you again in the future Property Owner
"A lovely property in a beautiful secluded setting with delightful walks and places to sit around a small loch and summerhouse created by the owners in front of the cottage."
Comfortable and well furnished, this is a perfect place to relax in peace and tranquillity and enjoy the abundant wildlife around the property. Our family of three adults and the dog had a brilliant week but the accommodation would work equally well for families or couples and is well placed for trips to the Galloway Forest, a host of visitor attractions and the coast.
"A lovely cottage in a peaceful location with good facilities and plenty of wildlife."
"Very comfortable cottage, the view is fantastic."
No traffic noises which makes this cottage unique. My only quibble is that it was heartbreaking to watch the swallows try over and over again to get into their nesting place only to find it has been boarded up. What a shame, they have flown thousands of miles to come back!
So glad you enjoyed the cottage, thank you for your feedback and for staying at Corrafeckloch. We do hope the swallows have found the new nest box we have put up for them. They just need to relocate a little way further to the barn behind the cottage as we certainly want then to find a home with us. Property Owner
"A stunning cottage and as secluded as it gets."
True peace and quiet. The stars have never looked as bright as they do at Corrafeckloch Cottage. The cottage is beautiful. Everything has been thought of. The restoration of the cottage could not possibly be improved. What an amazing job the owners have done. The snug between the upstairs bedrooms especially a highlight for me. A place to read a book, sip a cuppa, and look out into true wilderness. Bliss. We had visits from many chaffinches, woodpeckers, red squirrels and pine martens! My family saw many of these animals for the first time, from the comfort of the cottage. The other thing I'd like to call out? The cottage is pristinely clean. Clearly, a lot of attention to detail and love has been paid to this cottage, and it has truly paid off. We didn't want to leave! Really nice things to do nearby are to visit the Crafty Distillery, which is a great if you're into your gins. We really enjoyed that. Also, Heads of Ayr Farm Park is a brilliant day out.
Thank you for your feedback and for staying at Corrafeckloch. We will pass on your positive comments to our cleaning team. Property Owner
"The cottage is so lovely surrounded by wildlife we have been four times and are going again in December."
Thank you for your feedback and for your continued custom. We love to share our cottage with people who enjoy the area and watching the wildlife. Property Owner
"We have stayed in many holiday homes and they have all been good but I think this is the best property we have stayed in."
It has been beautifully restored with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was ideal for us because it was isolated and with so much land to enjoy the nature, yet it is near enough to a town to get supplies. I spoke to our host and she obviously really cared about us enjoying our stay.
"Another great week staying in this first class cottage, which is a credit to its owners."
It offers complete comfort, in an amazing location, peaceful, scenic & full of wildlife to enjoy. We can't recommend it enough & hope to return soon, we'll never tire of it. Thank you!
House was spotlessly clean and an abundance of information provided about things to do and see. The house is quite remote and limited phone and wifi, but it makes for a lovely retreat. The access road is fairly long but actually in very good condition and no concerns taking our car along it. Would certainly recommend and hope to return again sometime in the future.
"This is a lovely property, sensitively restored and very comfortable in a very peaceful setting."
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to book again for next year.
"The cottage is comfortable, clean and perfect for a relaxing time in peaceful and beautiful surroundings."
"A perfect location for a family holiday"
"Track running along side cottage used by forestry commission and lorries travel at speed and this should be made aware of for people with children and dogs."
Not in cottage information when booked. We were also perturbed to find that CCTV cameras were running all the time and found this intrusive and felt we were being spied on.
"The most beautiful cottage in amazing surroundings."
The cottage is finished to a very high standard and has everything you need. It’s secluded in the forest so if you like peace and solitude but still near enough to lots of great places to visit this is where you should head. Fantastic week. Thank you.
"Quiet and peaceful."
We all enjoyed just sitting back and watching the birds and wildlife.
"Lovely cottage in absolute stunning scenery."
The drive through Galloway forest was also spectacular. Cottage was very clean, comfortable & warm. Would suggest that guests bring a lot of bird seed or buy lots whilst there. They ate a bag a day. We aren’t familiar with birds but there were some stunning ones to look at. Expect a daily red squirrel visitor. Christine, one of the owners, is lovely & happy to help with any queries. The only negative is that WiFi isn’t very good but we were pre-warned about this so can’t complain. Would highly recommend this cottage to those in need of peace, relaxation & requiring stunning views. Great place to go to escape people & covid.
"We stayed in May and like someone else has since said in a review the forestry lorries drive very fast it was really worrying to be walking on the track or even worse meeting then head on - on a narrow track in the car , we found the track very difficult for our very low sports car as there were huge potholes on the forestry track to the cottage we had no idea it would be like that ."
We also wasn't keen on the cctv but only because it made us wonder if we was safe staying there as its in the middle of nowhere. The wildlife was lovely , the cottage was comfy but a non slip bath mat in the showers would be good . Personally we wouldn't go there again due to the forestry lorries and pot holes !
"Lovely spot ."
everything perfect...plenty of wild life - red squirrels frequent visitor in the garden.
"What a wonderful place to stay."
In fact the pictures do not even come close to doing this lovely home justice! Its cozy but spacious., and has everything you could need to make your stay marvelous. Woke up to bird song, saw the owls as they fly past the house and even the odd red squirrel. You have almost no need to leave (but the closest town is definitely worth a visit - Newton Stewart). The property has walks to explore around the pond and the woodland. We had the best holiday we have had in years and will certainly be back - I am sure our little dog is already missing the fire and meandering through the woods! Cannot recommend highly enough.
"Lovely accommodation in beautiful scenery."
We were unlucky with a week of near solid rain but one of those things. Tv signal not great went off altogether in heavy rain.
"Wonderful cottage in a forest location, wildlife in abundance owners have thought of everything ."
The area is a walking, cycling paradise with forest paths open throughout, our first visit to this part of Scotland and would highly recommend the cottage and the area
"Corrafeckloch is just beautiful, the farmhouse it's self is perfect."
Spacious, beautifully decorated and homely. The setting is beautiful, to have such lovely views, a loch and walks for the dog on your doorstep all to yourself is wonderful. We didn't venture out much as we would normal do as we really didn't feel the need to staying in such a lovely place. We holiday with Sykes 3 times a year and always choose new places to visit each time. We've stayed in some beautiful places but Corrafeckloch is one we will go back to, can't wait to return!
"The cottage was lovely very comfortable and clean."
We especially loved the remoteness and the abundance of wildlife.

The house has been beautifully decorated and furnishings were perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring! We can’t wait to stay here again!
"The whole package was fantastic, the cottage was very comfortable, the area was so quiet and peaceful, walking was very easy along the tracks and the wild life was a joy."
"We had a fab week!"
The cottage was well equipt and clean, lovely amount of wildlife around the cottage. And plenty to do nearby, would love to return

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the property for you. Only a short drive to lovely walks around Glentrool and The Wood of Cree. The beautiful Mossyard beach is approx. 30 minutes away. We would highly recommend this property!

"Beautiful cottage with all modern facilities."
Great location, peaceful and secluded and perfect for any nature lover with plenty of wildlife right outside your front door. Lots to see and do in the area and a heap of useful information provided in the cottage about local attractions. Would definitely recommend
"All though it is said that there is a shop 12 mins away we never found it, the pub in winter only opens Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but other than that we were very impressed with it."
But on a personal basis we did find it too remote for us, all though it was nice just too far from civilisation,
