"This is a lovely place to stay."
It is the best equipped holiday let we have stayed in and the owners have gone to great lengths to make sure every small detail is perfect. They are also just a text away and extremely helpful if you have queries of any sort. The house is just across the road from the shore so if you love the sea in all its moods it is definitely the place for you. Amazing rainbows and glorious sunsets. Lots to do in the surrounding area whether you are very active or just needing a relaxing place to be.
"We loved our stay at Westview."
What a stunning cottage! So beautifully interior designed and so well equipped. My girls especially loved playing all the board games. Very peaceful location and lovely sea views. I would definitely recommend a stay at Westview for a relaxing luxury retreat
"This cottage is stunning."
A beautiful recent refurb is tasteful and the owners have thought of everything. Very comfortable. Eating breakfast overlooking the shore and the Rhins of Galloway is fantastic. Lovely welcome pack too, as well as a few treats there are various walks and ideas of things to do. Brilliant - saved us lots of effort! This really is a superb base when exploring this part of Scotland.
"Absolutely fantastic cottage, so much thought has gone into the cottage, everything from the well stocked kitchen to the drinks station downstairs, the tasteful decor, festoon lights in the garden, the views from the upstairs living room and kitchen, the list goes on."
"All good quality furnishings everything that we required for a relaxing holiday, views fantastic couple beautiful sunsets, plenty of places to visit, nice apple crumble from apple tree, only downside kept forgetting about sloping ceilings and banging our heads."
Thank you thoroughly enjoyed our stay also thank for goody pack, Ian and Gloria
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback on the cottage and your stay. You made apple crumble from the apple tree - that is wonderful! So sorry about the head bumps - we stripped back the upstairs ceiling as much as possible . However, in places it is low. I will add this info to the listing to ensure future guests are aware. "What an amazing place."
The property really is 5* worthy - everything you need for a home away from home. Comfy beds, high quality furnishings. I could literally have spent every day gazing out of the window listening to the sea and watching the glorious sunsets. So much to do in the area. Owners are incredibly knowledgeable and great communication. Cannot wait to go back!

"Perfect in every way."
This is a beautiful and practical reworking of a seafront cottage with extraordinary views. Everything provided. We have had cottages with not even a salt pot but this one even had dried oregano.

The former Royal Burgh of Whithorn on the Machars Peninsula in Dumfries and Galloway is renowned for having the first recorded Christian church is Scotland. Built by St Ninian around 397, the site of the Candida Casa, or White/Shining House, is now home to the parish church. The area of Whithorn is rich in history and is also home to a medieval priory and an archaeological site. The distinctive shape of Whithorn, with its spacious central area and narrow entrance-ways of elegant Georgian houses, displays its medieval heritage. The Machars and Rhins of Galloway are also home to spectacular gardens, a result of the Gulf Stream and mild climate. Logan Botanic Gardens, the Aldouran Wetland and the spectacular gardens of Castle Kennedy are all a must see. To the north of the Machars are the Galloway Hills, offering walking to all levels as well as world class mountain biking. Golf, fishing and wildlife spotting are well catered for and the sandy beaches of Monrieth, Garlieston, and along the whole of Luce Bay will delight any visitor.
