  • "I was dismayed upon arrival to find the central heating was not working."

Given that it was an old stone property, this meant it felt very cold. A neighbour did manage to get the heating going for us but the boiler needed a new part. The plumber didn’t come for three days. I was also disappointed that I had to clean out a cupboard in order to store food in it as it was covered in crumbs etc from previous guest. There were three vases that previous guests had used for flowers which still had the flower water in them and were very smelly. There was also a mark on a tile in downstairs bathroom adjacent to loo roll which looked very much like it was dried on faeces. Apart from this, we liked the house very much.

We are so pleased that you liked the house very much. We were informed shortly after your arrival that the heating had stopped working. It had been working earlier in the day. This was a first - it has never given us trouble before. Initially our handyman / gardener, came round to take a look and see if he could fix it. He provided you with extra logs and kindling for the open fire. Then, shortly afterwards our neighbour came with 2 electric heaters and managed to get the heating going again. He also explained to you what to do if the heating did cut out again and told us that he would be happy to go around again to assist if necessary. We called several times over the weekend to check that the heating was still running. You confirmed that it was, and although the heating is normally set to 'timed' we agreed that you could run it continuously as you were concerned that it might cut out again. This was of course at our cost. On Monday our regular heating engineers came round and attended to the system. I am sorry that you found some crumbs in a cupboard. Our cleaner who is normally meticulous must have somehow overlooked them and the vases. Earlier in the week before your visit, we had all 4 front facing windows replaced. The mark in the bathroom was probably made by one of the workmen, and not subsequently noticed by the cleaner. I trust that this answers the points you raised. Best regards Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage with lots of space."

Really well equipped for any group. Ours included lots of young children so we were particularly appreciative of the cot, high chair and plastic cutlery. The kitchen had everything you needed (although a bit of salt and pepper would be a nice touch) The owners even called to make sure everything was alright. We had a lovely stay and would go again

  • "The location is superb and the comfort reasonable for a weeks stay."

The owner needs to address 2 issues. On the Saturday morning following our Friday arrival we went to take a shower only to find the water hardly heated, an hours boost rectified the situation but we needed to do this each morning in order to get a hot shower. The dishwasher will not operate for a full cycle without a manual intervention to get it to continue. It cannot be left to fulfil a full wash while you go out. A general comment is that we are now beyond the additional precautions required during the pandemic. It is no longer reasonable to expect people to only have access from 5pm and leave by 9am. 3pm and 11am should become the norm.

Oh dear!! The water heater must have been set to the wrong setting. It is normally set to go on from 6.30am to 10.30 pm which provides plenty of water for all. Its a real pity you did not call the housekeeper, who would have sorted it out for you. The dishwasher is quirky! We are considering replacing it, but it does a perfect job, so in this age of sustainability, we are resisting….. Main point : You do not need to wait for the cycle to stop. We will amend the work round notes in the Welcome info and on the Appliance instructions to reflect that 2 turns of the knob gets the dishwasher running properly, resulting in a perfect completed cycle. Thank you for alerting us to the restrictive arrival and departure times due to the pandemic. We have now reverted to arrivals at 3pm and departure at 10am. Do come back to Tremorla soon. Meantime keep well. All the best, Margo and Rob. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful house and the sea view and sunsets are breathtaking."

The house has lots of space for all nine of us and the children enjoyed there own little space in the snug which had various children's games and books. The house has everything you need for a large family including a lovely downstairs bathroom with a lovely deep bath and a brilliant shower and another bathroom upstairs with a bath all in all the house has plenty of room and is very well equipped We enjoyed various coastal walks and beach trips all within an easy car trip .All I can really suggest is maybe a light for evenings in the garden as the weather was glorious and we would of loved to of stayed outside a bit longer but that is all I can suggest about this beautiful house we had an amazing family holiday here and will be back to explore more of this gorgeous part of Cornwall. We also had a lovely phone call from the owner checking we had everything we needed and gave us lots of information on local attractions which was very helpful and a nice touch a great time was had by all .

Hello all, Delighted that you were so happy at Tremorla. The house and the area is a special place for our family too. Just love your (brilliant) suggestion for a light outside. Now we know you had great weather….. the number of nights that this could be used is limited, but certainly something to think about, especially with the change in weather patterns…… Main thing…. keep well, and come back to Tremorla soon. • "Very nice house with decent facilities."

Some are a little outdated and might put people off, but we found it in keeping with the style in general. The cleanliness was generally good save for a few bits obviously missed by the cleaner. We would stay again given the balance of location, quality and price. However, this house needs the following to push it up to the next level. - The bushes cut in the garden so the sea view is better downstairs. - The cleaning was 6/10 - The kitchen and front room were in ok condition, but not what you would expect from high end properties. I could point out a million great things and the gate people have complained about was no problem for our large pick up truck.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are pleased that you like the house. Responding to your three points: Guests generally comment how fantastic the sea views are from the house. The olearia on the garden wall are pruned regularly in winter. In November when you were at Tremorla the olearia would have been at their largest. We are pleased that you found the ’cleanliness generally good’. We are proud of all our guest feedback which consistently comments on the high standard of cleanliness and how well the property is presented. Our housekeeper and her team do a brilliant job in ensuring everything is cleaned to the highest level. It is a pity therefore that this feedback was not more specific so that we could attend to any weak points which may have been found. We are continually upgrading the house. It may be of interest that the kitchen units and window seat were custom built in character with the house using reclaimed pitch pine. We too could point out a ‘million great things’ about Tremorla. We look forward to your return visit. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic location close to very cute Boscastle."

Lovely setting with sea views and good walks nearby. The house is a great no-fuss option for a Cornish holiday and worked particularly well because we had sunshine. If I was to suggest some improvements I would say the beds could be larger and more comfortable. A few more bath mats would be useful as the two we were provided did not dry in between uses (I think the house has a touch of damp but it did not affect our stay!) so they were quite nasty by the end of the week. Some candles for dining inside and out would be a lovely touch as well! Perhaps outside of Covid you provide salt and pepper but there was none when we arrived and that is a bit of a faff to buy for yourself. Overall a really brilliant week and very positive experience at tremorla.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear you had a lovely stay at Tremorla. Thank you for your suggestions, we will pass these onto the owner. Property Owner

  • "This cottage does an incredible job of feeling spacious and cosy at the same time."

.. we found it to be a very well equipped, nicely presented, clean, warm and flexible living space with lots of options on bedrooms. The newly refurbished ground floor bathroom was impressive & spacious (great towels) and the central heating was more than sufficient to heat the large cottage. Any instructions were clear & easy to follow. It also has a very reliable & easy to navigate tv system - which is a rare find in a holiday let! Sadly the weather wasn't on our side so we didn't get a chance to use the garden - and so can't comment on the facilities there, but to the eye there was more than enough space to have held numerous children, or adults, running a mock in the summer to enjoy the lawns & seaviews. A welcome pack greeted us on our first day - the caretaker visited the property within 30 minutes of us calling with a query - and the owner called us every day to ensure that everything was ok with our stay. Close enough to visit Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude, Padstow & Newquay by car. Loads of kids' activities, farms and playparks close by too. We certainly had some challenging weather during our stay but we loved the cottage and would definitely recommend it.

  • "The property was ideal for our family get together and was an ideal location in North Cornwall."

A number of very minor comments: - the ground floor bathroom was excellent - the first floor bathroom was a little 'dated' and possibly needs updating. - the bedrooms were good although the bed in the large main bedroom could have been a little bigger. - there was plenty of crockery and glassware to use.

Thank you for taking the time to fill in our response form after your recent stay at Tremorla. We are also delighted with the new bathroom on the ground floor. Updating the upstairs bathroom is in our improvement plans. A bigger bed in the main bedroom is a good idea. We had thought of it and plan to change it next year' We are pleased that despite the points you have raised, you enjoyed your stay at Tremorla. Property Owner
