Net curtain to b/ room window? Hoover, mop bucket, iron board ,clothes airer in bathroom ? 2rugs both faded and thread bare ,,drawer in distressed dresser dirty so was cupboard ,toilet didnt flush all the time ,so all in all very dissapointed, expected more

Hi Larry, thankyou for your very negative feedback, most of which is untrue. I did see you on several occasions and ask is everything ok with your stay with us? To which you replied ‘yes’. The Garden Apartment has been a holiday cottage for over 15 years, we get a lot of returning customers who love it here. Property Owner

Arrived to find a nice clean and very inviting cottage. Brilliant location for walking the area or going out and about with parking right at the location. Very cosy for 2 and dog friendly, had everything you need for a stay, the heating makes the place warm on a cold wet day, and the log burner was brilliant, made the cottage very very warm quickly. Pub only about 10-15min walk. Would defiantly book this again.

Hi Della, I do supply 2 large towels per person, sorry if you would have liked hand towels as well. As a host can I add its very unpleasant when a customer does not pick up their dogs poo, just some feedback to you if you go on holiday with your dog again. Property Owner

Peaceful, quiet area in bossiney. Very friendly people. Absolutely wonderful apartment, everything you would need. Lovely patio garden for my dog. Tons of wood for wood burner. Everything was done to perfection. Make sure you get all your food as Bude was the nearest supermarket. We took a couple of extra towels to put on bathroom window and kitchen window for night time , as there is a passage way behind the apartment. Walking time 10 to 15 minutes to shops/ pubs/castle. Garden apartment in a very quiet area with off road free parking. The apartment itself was a good base. Warm with a wood burner and some wood provided, central heating good(we visited in October so wet and cold outside) Bed soft (husband did have an aching back at times) and unusually low. Bathroom lovely with over the shower bath with good hot water. The only criticism was a blind/curtains needed at the window/door in the bathroom instead of a net curtain. I did feel a little exposed so had to stand bags on the chest of draws in front of the window. Also a blind in the kitchen rather than nets for same reason, we were there in winter so darker nights, lights on! Otherwise a pretty, functional apartment. Good price, good area. Easy access to local amenities. Good walking, lots of lovely(steep) coves. Bossiney cove a gem..

The cottage is set in a quiet and peaceful area, with only a short walk to Tintagel with its amenities and castle, or a short walk in the opposite direction to Bossiney Cove - a beautiful little beach area. There was a welcome pack that let you know everything you needed about the cottage, the local amenities and some ideas of where to explore nearby. Perfect size for two of us plus our dog, good facilities and wonderful view from the land to the sea beyond. Location is great, Tintagel is a 15 minute walk away with some good pubs and shops (Premier and Spar for essentials). Lots of attractions nearby, the cliff walks are stunning, and make sure you go down to Bossiney Cove (steep and rocky) and Trebarwith Strand (get there early!). Rocky Valley and St Nectans Waterfall are also well worth a visit and walking distance away. No real negatives, the net curtain at the kitchen didn't bother us. The outdoor area is overlooked by the adjoining cottage but they pulled their curtains. We may be back next year :)

A couple of small negative points is that there is no blind in the kitchen/lounge, just a net curtain. We saw several people walk past this window, which is fine in daylight, but at night when the lights are on you really want more privacy. The bathroom was really dark, better lighting is needed. Just a couple of minor negatives, but if these were put right it would be perfect.

  • "I believe the write-up failed my expectations."

It was minimal and didn't give a true picture. If the detail had been accurate, it would have met my expectations. The cottage was basic and tired looking, although very clean. The sofas and bed were quite hard and old. The towels were old although clean. There were no sharp knives which hindered catering and could have been put in the description so that I could have taken some to use. The shower's pressure was minimal. There were no curtains or blinds on the rear windows (only nets) and didn't feel private when people were walking up and down for many hours on the path behind. It would be impossible to have a private shower in the evening with no curtains and the light on. The internet went down half way through which meant that I vacated the cottage earlier than the checkout day because BT weren't going to find the fault for 2 days and I had online work commitments. Plus points - the cottage was quiet, there was ample parking, nearby beauty spot of Bossiney Cove, the host was polite.

About the location

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
