  • "The property is lovely and well equipped throughout and would highly recommend staying here, it was very clean, tidy and very comfortable."

Patsy and Roger are great hosts with a wealth of knowledge for anything Cornwall. An ideal place for exploring this part of Cornwall, I'm 100% certain, my wife, Jess (my dog) and I will be back sooner rather than later for another wonderful stay in this lovely cottage

  • "Lovely break in a cosy well equipped cottage ideally suited to a couple."

The area is quiet and rural, a very private group of properties down lovely little country lanes but very accessible - and well located to explore West Cornwall, including Lands End and The Lizard. It was good to have a patio that was fully enclosed for our dogs (and lovely for pre dinner drinks!) but visitors might want to check this is the same for you based on the breed of your dog and their ability to jump and roam! Access to the patio is via a side gate (i.e. not direct from the house itself). There is also a pretty (unfenced) front garden shared with the next door property and a nearby field just across the lane (shared with cattle behind an electric fence). Very welcoming hosts who provided lots of really helpful info in advance of our stay. Would stay again :-)

Lovely (long) walks along the lanes and footpaths to St Ives, St Michael's Mt, an Iron Age village and loads of other beautiful places. Just wonderful. It is also a great base to explore the western tip of Cornwall . Spotlessly clean , well equipped and lovely cottage garden. Small courtyard is lovely for a late afternoon glass or two !!

  • "Not very dog friendly at all, trying to get to the dog field a tractor came and we had no room to get through, owner very helpful, but the way to the field was covered with brambles."

Someone cutting the lawn at the back while i was in the shower . Not very private, I booked the cottage because I wanted to be alone after family problems, the owner was trying to be helpful, maybe I should have said i wanted to be left alone. beige carpets for a dog with muddy paws i had to put blankets down . Also not allowed to leave the dog in the cottage, not even when i went to the shop, so don’t know what i was supposed to do with him. It was a lovely place, spotless and great views, nice garden, it would have been perfect for two people . But dog fields were not great, one had cows in and the other was hard to get to, If you just want to get to the beaches and take your dog there it was great.. Couldn’t fault the cottage and the bed was comfortable .

This response is saddening and surprising as we have many guests with dogs who love it here and many repeat bookings. We are in a rural area, the lanes can be narrow but the tractor drivers are always considerate of dog walkers and horse riders. Guests are made aware that we garden on Wednesdays, don't look through windows and never start until late morning. We supply quilted covers and dog towels and dog owners can also use the hose and tap at the top of the drive for cleaning paws. There were 7 emails between us and the guest, very friendly in tone, and we understood that a crate was being brought for the dog. We say in our details for dog owners that dogs may be left in crates for short periods of time. There are no brambles between the two field gates, the cows (4 little adults & 3 calves) were contained behind an electric fence leaving 3 acres for guest use. We apologize if the guest felt we invaded her privacy. No indication was given that she wished to be left alone. Property Owner

I think it should be addressed by the owners and can't understand why none of the reviews mentioned this it's not something than can be ignored because as soon as you open you can smell it.

We are very sorry that you felt the building smelt damp. We wished you had mentioned that on the many occasions we spoke with you. If windows were left open more often then this would be unlikely to happen. When windows and doors are closed and people are staying in the building then dampness occurs. The bedroom and bathroom window should be internally left open. Property Owner
