• "The cottage is beautiful, well presented and in a perfect location."

  My children and I had a wonderful time. Owners and manager were wasy to contacr. Only negative was the wifi, which although 'connected' was none existent and left some frustrated teens!

• "Just stayed for a week at The Beach Hut in Crantock."

  Cottage was perfect, had everything we needed. Beds really comfortable, everywhere was clean and dust free. Biscuits and fudge on arrival which was a nice touch and very yummy. Even a few dog treats and waste bags. Parking space at the rear of property. It was within walking distance of couple pubs, Crantock beach and the Gannel which we love. Would definitely stay here again and recommend the property.

• "Beautiful place to stay."

  Comfortable beds and good seating in the living area. Fresh towels and bedding. All lovely furnishings in the bedrooms. Nice touches with the fudge, coffee and shortbread. We had 4 people, baby and dog and it was just right. Some improvements: no way a negative, just would have made it 100% for us. 1. Wi-Fi. This is really poor and there is no network signal (which is just unlucky) we had to do some work and it was very frustrating with little internet service. 2. More baking trays and dishes big enough for 4-6 people. The ones provided are only suitable for 2 people. 3. An additional chopping board - only 1 wooden one provided. 4. Oven gloves would be better than the oven cloth. 5. En suite shower head falls down. Just needs to be tightened. 6. Pegs. Washing line but no sign of any pegs. 7. Advertise coffee machine - we took our own cafetière. 8. Locks quite stiff on the doors could be lubricated. 9. No heating in upstairs bathroom, difficult to dry towels. Seems like I am moaning but these are just small changes that would make this great. Would definitely stay again…

There is actually a drawer under the oven labelled chopping boards and baking trays and plenty of larger dishes and kitchen equipment in the sideboard opposite. There should be a a garlic press and a bag of pegs, we will just check these haven’t been placed somewhere out of sight and adjust the welcome email to include more detail about what is in the cottage and where. All the showers come off the same large hot water tank so there is plenty of hot water generally. The heating for the upstairs bathroom is underfloor ( as it is in every room) and the controller is on the wall outside of the bathroom so it can be adjusted to preference. The internet availability and infrastructure is limited in the village, OK for watching a movie etc but sometimes struggles with multiple devices logged on. We can connect to most mobile networks fine, the signal is better on the middle and upper floors. We will certainly look at all the points you mention and appreciate that you have taken the time to give me a plenty of detail. Thanks again for staying at the Beach Hut. Property Owner

• "Great location, close to everything Cornwall has to offer."

• "The only thing I would have liked was another small chopping board and a small microwavable dish."

  I would recommend this property to other people as it was accessible to many other places., although it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties as it is on a hill, and spread over 3 floors.

• "A great location and property."

  Over three floors, you can enter via the main road ( this is not where you park the car) which has a king en-suite room and twin room with a master bathroom, you then go up stairs which leads to the garden and car parking at the rear. It’s then the living and kitchen area. The third floor then has a double room with a separate dressing which has a Jack and Jill door and could be used as another single bedroom or cot room. There is then a full bathroom as well. The only thing missing was an extension cable as some sockets were far away. Eg for the hairdryer in the main dressing room on their floor? This could not reach the dressing table. Lovely home

• "Lovely house."

  Great position. Walking distance of the beach. Little shop across the road for essentials. Pretty little garden to sit out if you have the weather which sadly we didn’t. So pleased that living area is on the same level as garden. Really good to have parking as the village gets very busy. The owners also arranged extra parking in the village hall as we had three cars between us. Excellent communication with the owners and property manager Tracey. Responded to all questions and requests quickly. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and return.

• "This is a lovely property in the heart of the village."

  There is a village store directly across from the property which sells everything you might require. The village pubs are a short walk away and the beach is a 6 minute walk. The property is spacious and clean and provides all the home comforts you would require. There were 4 adults and a toddler and a baby in our party and we have a great stay.

• "Firstly let me say a big thank you to Simon, Rishi & Tracy ( property owners & manager )Soo friendly & helpful & quick to reply to any of our questions & queries."

  We absolutely loved the cottage & the village of Crantock. We went with our adult children & partners & found the cottage plenty big enough for six adult's. All mod cons were supplied in the kitchen , although oven gloves might be a good idea as using the tea towels not very health & safety. Bed linen & towels were spotless & all bedrooms very nicely presented. We took our small dog & although the garden is down to decking & tiles , this was not a problem, as out the back of the cottage is scrub land where we could take him to do his business. A bin is provided for said dog waste. We had to purchase the parking permit as we had two cars, but this was arranged & waiting for us when we arrived. ( parking space for one car only )The permit allows the second car to park at the village hall a few minutes walk away from the cottage. Our time at the cottage was short( only four days) but we would love to go back for longer. Thanks again for a truly lovely stay.

• "Great cottage with all your essentials catered for to make a perfect home from home break."

  The cleanliness of the property was exceptional. Great location, short walk to the beach and village centre with two pubs and a grocery store all on the doorstep. Arrived late and was so grateful for a fresh pint of milk and teabags, after a long drive this was a lovely touch. Cant wait to use the Beach Hut again in the future.

• "The property was excellent and had everything we needed and in a good position,my only comment / feedback is the duvet were of a high tog and it was too hot sleeping and the weather was not particularly warm."

  I was very unhappy with Sykes for not informing us of the building work taking place directly opposite the property we were disturbed every morning from 08:30.

  This is our second stay and already looking to book again. Great location, property is well laid out with everything you could possibly need. Clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen. Beds are comfy with extra pillows and blankets if needed. Lots of hot water and good underfloor heating. One of our favourite places to stay in crantock

• "The Beach Hut was in a great location in Crantock Village."

  Very close to local shop and pub and within walking distance of the beach. The people in the village were very friendly and welcoming. The property was furnished to a very high standard and provided everything you could need whilst on holiday and more. It was a very cosy and warm property. It had a very pretty patio area with a table and chairs and a barbecue. There was parking for one vehicle to the rear. One very slight issue was the stairs to the upper bedroom they were very creaky and could disturb you if you were sleeping. However, I have to say that the accommodation and it’s location exceeded all my expectations and I would love to holiday here again.

  What an amazing holiday home from home. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The beds are so comfortable and even the sofa was fab. The outdoor space is good, access to your car easily through here, a washing line for your wetsuits and washed clothing. Also an outdoor shower!!! Brilliant. The village shop is 58 steps away, so my 10 year old tells me and the beach is around a 10-15 min stroll down and if you're unfit, slightly longer back as its up a slight incline or you can stop off at the pub or lovely cafe. A must go place.

• "The Beach Hut was ideally situated within 10 minutes walk to Crantock beach."

  The guest and property manager were welcoming and gave all the necessary information upon arrival. The facilities and cleanliness of the property were very good, it had everything we needed for a week away. The only couple of things to mention are (1) one of the twin beds in the downstairs bedroom could do with looking at - it would squeek every time you moved an inch.. and (2) we found the house particularly difficult to keep cool. Temperature wasn't especially hot but it was like a sauna most of the time. Neither of these things really detracted from our week away though - we had an enjoyable stay at the Beach Hut.

• "The Beach Hut is an absolute gem of a property."

  It's beautifully decorated and is fully equipped with everything needed for a holiday. Crantock is a pretty village a few miles from Newquay and the beaches are stunning. The owners were helpful and we had a midway linen change which was useful. We've had a superb holiday and would happily recommend this property. We look forward to returning.

• "Location of the cottage was perfect as were the facilities."

  The only downside for us were the creakiest stairs I have ever experienced, which with a toddler meant every trip to the toilet or going to bed risked waking her. I am sure with older children it wouldn’t be an issue and I would highly recommend this property.
