  • “We just loved our stay, the perfect place and setting!”

The layout of the Lodge is ideal for a family get together. The Lodge had all the essentials needed to support our needs. The grandchildren had a view of the Alpachas, pony and the Rhias when outdoors much to their delight. The roads leading to the lodge are narrow but not to be phased by that as drivers are very careful and there are many passing places. A great holiday was had by all!

The property

With a Scandinavian style interior, Chywolow Lodge sits in the tiny hamlet of Great Bosullow within 3 miles of Penzance, is perfect for respite and for those with limited mobility.

Wheelchair friendly.

Far reaching countryside views and an incredible sense of space make this a fabulous rural retreat surrounded by beautiful moorland, Iron Age settlements and mysterious standing stones.

Set on a seventy acre farm, the owners run a Rural Centre where you can meet ponies, chickens, chinchillas, chipmunks, rabbits and even tortoises.

All on the ground floor, this holiday bolthole makes a great base for family and friends.

The open plan living area with kitchen, dining and sitting area is good for gatherings, relaxation and feasts.

There are four comfortable bedrooms all with TV’s and one with en-suite shower room, plus a family bathroom and garden room.

The terrace is perfect for sunny breakfasts and the expanse of grass around the property is perfect for a game.

This is a walker's paradise so bring your boots and head out across the moors to the North Coast.

Nearby Pendeen has local facilities plus a pub but we recommend heading North to Gurnards Head where there is a food lover's delight; The Gurnards Head.

The nearest white sandy beach is the hidden Portheras Cove between Pendeen and Morvah but better known Sennen Cove is only a short drive west.

Penzance and St Ives can be reached within 15 minutes drive, both towns are worthy of a visit with some great cafes, restaurants and galleries to peruse.

About the location

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
