"A beautiful, quiet and peaceful setting with a lovely, accommodating owner."
Some of the towels and bedding requires replacing but everything else was as expected.
-
"Fantastic property and wonderful location."
Friendly owner. Very private property, loads of space for everything including parking. Simple but that's perfect.
-
"Please read your emails ."
Sent to you yesterday . We would never return to this property and will never recommend it. It has an infestation of large black beetles. It is not clean either
Thank you for your feedback. I do apologise, it was breeding season for the beetles, but if you had let me know about this, I would have done my best to resolve the issue for you as soon as possible. Property Owner

"Beautiful setting."
I loved the fact that it was not too modern. Very friendly owner. All the facilities you need, unless you can't do without Wi Fi, dishwasher or washing machine, which I can.
-
"A very relaxing place to spend a holiday in."
The main feature of the property is its location and outstanding coastal views.

"We had a lovely stay at Parc An Castle."
We have stayed in a few cottages in Cornwall over the years but the views from Parc An Castle were by far the most spectacular. Our young boys loved seeing all the wildlife from the windows too, including sheep, cows and rabbits. The cottage was also much bigger than it looks in the pictures, and was cosy, clean and comfortable. The owner Liz was very friendly too. We would definitely like to come back in the future.
-
"Love this time capsule of a stunning cottage, lady owner Liz is lovely."
Second time here, stunning views and location. Hope I can stay again thank you.
-
"The cottage was perfect both in location and facilities it offered."
We could have stayed there forever. The host was lovely and very welcoming. Thank you for making my mums first visit to the Lizard so special.
-
"This is a wonderfull cottage to stay."
The location is outstanding. The owner lives next door & is very welcoming. We had a wonderful week. Don't go expecting a luxury modern house as it isn't. What it us is clean & tidy with a reminder of how straight forward things used to be. Hopefully will be back next year

"A perfect peaceful escape."
-
"It's rustic charm is perfect ,and it did the kids a world of good to get away from WiFi for a week Whilst to modernise would be a mistake ."
I must say a better shower would be of benefit. And a washing machine would be helpful too But other than that it was perfect

"Nice welcome by miss hart flower’s and biscuits a nice touch"

"We enjoyed our stay at Parc an Castle."
Although the facilities are basic they are perfectly adequate for a short stay. The bed is comfortable but a small double (we are both tall and used to a king size). The location is fabulous and proximity to the coastal path ideal for walking the beautiful coastline. There was quite a lot of fog when we stayed so it's a good idea to take earplugs as the foghorn sounds every 30 seconds (and sometimes through the night!). Fresh flowers were a lovely gesture, thank you.
-
"The location and the host could not have been bettered and the few foggy days / nights with the foghorn sounding just added to the atmosphere."
The listing is completely accurate so nothing unexpected! Night storage heaters and the other electrical heaters kept my 94 year old mother quite comfortably warm during our stay. Not the same as central heating - it just needs an adjustment in thinking. The lounge window gives fantastic views and the cottage has a great charm, loved the pantry and the ‘loo with a view’ at the back of the cottage. Step back in time a little way and enjoy everything this lovely property has to offer.

"The cottage was quiet and comfortable with everything you require."
In a beautiful location with stunning views. Miss Hart was extremely helpful and friendly. We would definitely love to comeback.
-
"This was our second visit to Parc an Castel and we again very much enjoyed our stay."
The property is in a perfect position for access to the coast path and is clean, comfortable and quiet. The weather was excellent and we managed to take advantage of the sunny terrace, with sea views, on a couple of occasions for breakfast. The coast path is stunning and we managed to walk most of it in daily circular walks from Mullion around to Coverack and beyond during the week. We hope to return next year.
-
"The lack of central heating meant that we were constantly turning convector heaters on and off to keep warm."
The property is not suitable for young children as it would be impossible to keep them away from the heaters.

"Parc An Castle Cottage is a fantastic place to stay while in Lizard."
Every window has a view and terrace is facing towards Lizard Point! It's spacious, clean, well equipped, comfortable. Be aware that there is no in-house WiFi but who needs it part from planning you next walk :) Lizard is my new love: costal walks, swimming in scenic coves, crabs and cider
-
"Parc An Castle is a landmark building in a beautiful and peaceful location close to the South Coast path, with sea views from nearly every window."
The welcome from Miss Hart is warm, and the accommodation is simple and traditional, comfortable and clean. Lizard village (about 5 minutes walk) has a great pub, fish and chip shop, cafes and farm shops, and (plant) nursery, as well as a lot of shops selling fantastic Cornish ice cream! My family has been coming back here for many years and have great affection for the place.

"Read reviews that this property needs modernising, I think absolutely not."
It’s old fashioned for a reason that suits the property. The main part was that it was clean, comfortable and everything you needed was in there. My highlight was the views from the rear of the property, can’t put a price on that.
-
"Loved the location and the Cottage,an absolute time capsule,do not change anything, from the 115 year old pictures on the walls by past family members of the owner, and a property built by the Great Grandad of the owner it gives an insight into a bygone age where continuity was the essence."
Miss Hart was lovely and the whole property is a credit to her and her family.

"We have stayed at this cottage for about 30 years which speaks forir it's self!"
-
"A wonderful location with marvellous views."
However our stay felt like a visit back in time, with the very dated kitchen, bathroom furnishings and decor. Some updating generally would make this a fantastic property to stay in.
-
"Parc an Castle is accurately described by Helpful Holidays."
It is not a five star holiday cottage and is somewhat dated but it was clean, warm and comfortable and well equipped. It is in a superb location, private and with great views. You can walk from the property to the coast path and we did various circular walks in both directions. Lizard Village is a short walk with plenty of choice of eating places etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay and would recommend but read the description and don’t book if you are expecting a top notch five star property.

"We really enjoyed our stay and had a fantastic week in Lizard."
The location for the property is stunning and the hosts Liz (Lottie and the rabbits) we very welcoming. The accomodation is clean and comfortable, we really liked the sense of history and stepping back in time. I would have appreciated a washing machine, however we did get by with hand washing and using the spinner. I would recommend for a relaxed and enjoyable getaway.
-
"The accommodation was not fit for purpose."
Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the cottage. The property receives great feedback week on week however, all comments are taken on board and will be actioned accordingly. Property Owner

"I visited Parc an Castle with my son for about the 30th year!"
Sadly, I lost my wife 2 years ago who loved staying there and so I have many happy memories of the cottage. Elizabeth Hart has made some improvements since II last stayed there 2 years ago, the virus stopped me last year. As I have told friends, it is not luxurious, which I would not want, but very comfortable and clean and a superb location, hence my repeat visits! Regards. Ian Challen

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay af Parc an Castle."
The views from this cottage annex are amazing! We loved the peace and quiet despite being a short walk from the Lizard Point and Village. The accomodation is so spacious and very well equiped - the photos don't do it justice. We were so fortunate to be able to bring our dogs with us to enjoy the wonderful coastal walks and surrounding fields. Alas I believe the accomodation is no longer dog friendly which sadly prevents us from planning a return trip.
-
"Fantastic location, however, the bed in the master bedroom is too small & the sofa in the living room is uncomfortable."
-
"Wi fi Would be good Double bed too small We noticed the fire extinguisher needs updating."
Thank you the cottage has amazing views and greet location. Very well equipped kitchen
-
"The owner is a nice lady any problems she sorted lovely place nice views"
-
"We had a lovely week at Parc an Castle cottage, it is basic but we were aware of this and were going for the views and to an area that we knew well."
We were not disappointed, the views were amazing from nearly every window and I happily sat for hours at the lounge window looking out to sea. Despite being in the middle of global pandemic we felt very safe here, there are lovely coastal walks straight from your front door and it is very peaceful and private for a relaxing holiday. The owner lives on site and is very friendly and helpful. The decor of the cottage could do with being updated in places but the beds were comfortable and we'd happily return, those views and sunsets are to die for!!⁶

The shower is very temperamental and goes hot and cold while your in it and the hot water is very limited only one person could use the bath before it ran out which made it difficult with not being able to use the shower well

"The host was very welcoming and although a basic cottage, we knew this was the case when we booked."
The sea views at Parc an Castle are second to none and it's a great base for a short break.
-
"It was a beautiful spot, lovely owner, very friendly and we loved the cottage and the garden."
We will definitely be booking to go back .
-
"Positives: parking location, views, accessibility to walk routes, comfort of knowing grounds were secured at all times."
Host very welcoming!

About the location
THE LIZARD
Cadgwith 3.5 miles ; Mullion 5 miles ; Helston 11 miles
The most southerly town in Britain, The Lizard is located right at the tip of the Lizard Peninsula. The town has a welcoming community, lovely village green, parish church, lifeboat station, and a small selection of shops, galleries and inns. There is also an excellent pasty shop and the Lizard lighthouse, which has sat proudly atop the cliffs since 1751. Look out to sea from the lighthouse and you will see the Man ‘o War rocks – often completely submerged, these rocks have been the cause of many shipwrecks over the centuries. The Lizard Peninsula is unique in its geology, and visitors can take home some local Serpentine rock in the form of ornaments and gifts. The Lizard makes a great base for exploring the rest of the Lizard Peninsula, and is particularly popular with walkers and nature enthusiasts; the Cornish Chough now breeds in the area.
