  • "Immaculate clean and comfortable house, would recommend to anyone, fantastic views, couldn't fault anything, even in October you can sit on the balcony behind the glass out of the wind."

We will definitely book again, more money than we have paid ever in October, but well worth the extra money. Thank you to housekeeping team for leaving so lovely and clean, and the attention to details.

  • "To take two days in effect from a week for cleaning is excessive and with such an expensive property seems unfair"

Thank you for your feedback. As you can understand, this is mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic requiring extra cleaning which we hope may not have to be in place much longer. We are sorry that this impacted your holiday on this occasion. Property Owner

  • "The flat was the best we’ve stayed in."

Bigger than expected, with the most made of the views. One small ‘niggle’ was that there was no hand sanitiser or hand soap in any of the bathrooms.

  • "I sent an email on the Tuesday of our stay."

We were locked out of the property when the door slammed shut in the wind. We had no way of contacting you, your wait times were ridiculous. We had no other way of contacting you. I had to borrow a ladder and climb over the balcony! The property was not clean, despite your ‘deep’ cleaning claim. There is only one key for the property, two on the fob but only one fits the door, no idea what the other is for. This is our third stay at this property with another stay booked for next year. We are considering changing that now.

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. We are so sorry that you were locked out during your stay and found it difficult to get through to us. We will add a local contact to the details in case this ever happens again. We are also disappointed that you did not find the property as clean as you had expected, we will be taken action to address this. We are looking forward to you staying with us again. Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous week and loved everything about the apartment - especially the cleanliness during these strange times."

Thank you for the flowers and cream tea on arrival. Our only criticism was the very late arrival time of 6.30pm. We appreciate the covid situation, however, this was a bit too late. 4.30pm would have been a far better time.

  • "The property was immaculately presented upon arrival."

Scones, jam, clotted cream and Cornish apple juice waiting for us was a lovely touch. The area is so quiet, it was easy to relax. We were fortunate with the weather and sitting on the balcony, which gets the sun most of the day, was a delight. We decided not to take our dog with us on this holiday and were glad we made that decision as, being on the first and second floors, the grass area is not easily accessible and dogs are not even allowed on it. So we would have had to take the dog out the front of the property and around to the grass area beyond a tennis court (not available for use) each time. So more dogs allowed rather than dog friendly in my opinion. Other than that I can’t fault the place.

Our stay was perfect!! Could I just ask for a larger saucepan! For a house sleeping 6 the largest pan was not big enough to cook everybody pasta! That is my only and very small issue Already booked again for next year!!

  • "This property is really home from home."

Spacious and modern. The smart tv s in the living rooms and two of the bedrooms was great, as we had access to Amazon prime and Netflix. Which was fantastic, as the weather in Cornwall was absolutely rubbish last week. We would definitely stay again. Tea towels and oven gloves would of been useful though.

This is our second stay and we have booked again for next year. The property. Plus have been cleaner on arrival though and a few more bin liners available. The cleanliness was more important though.

It was so spacious which meant privacy for everybody. The quality of the fixtures and furnishings were extremely high. The amenities at the house were excellent. The neighbours were all delightful and the views are spectacular. We had a great holiday, I would highly recommended.

  • "We loved the accommodation, even though the dishwasher was broken for the whole of the stay, which was a chore."

Also please note that the shower drainage requires proper cleaning we had to unclog it ourselves.

The owners are delighted you loved the accommodation. They apologise for the inconvenience of the broken dishwasher. Sadly a new part had to be ordered, which delayed its' repair. The shower drain will be checked during imminent maintenance. Property Owner

With sea views and a lovely lovely balcony we spent the warm evenings on relaxing with family . The beach is clean and goes on for miles and we enjoyed some lovely coastal walks as well as exploring falmouth , port leven and a visit to the nearby donkey sanctuary. • "Generally the apartment was fine but we were hoping for a tv to be in all the bedrooms as stated in the particulars."

This was one of the reasons we booked this apartment as it was a treat that we couldn't deliver on.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention - we have now amended the property description. The first floor twin room doesn't have a TV included, though the two other bedrooms do have a television. Property Owner

  • "Praa Waves is in a wonderful location overlooking the sea, with very easy access to other places of interest."

The apartment is superb - bright, very well equipped with good quality fixtures and fittings. It made for a very comfortable and welcoming home from home. We had a small maintenance problem during our week which was speedily fixed without fuss. The only thing we would have liked which was not supplied was a parasol or sunshade on the patio. Sykes Holidays made all elements of our holiday easy and stress-free; we would highly recommend both this location and the company.

  • "Please take the above as feedback as finally I would like to say the property was the nicest most comfortable property we have stayed in and have already recommended to friends and fellow cornwall lovers."

The first thing that struck us on arrival is that on the site the property is listed as a house, but on the receipt as an apartment. It soon became clear that there is a ground floor flat beneath the property. This meant there was no direct access to the garden as expected. In fact we had no pass code to access the shared garden area. This we got after a call. The next point was that the property was cold inside. Of the 9 thermostats all were either off or in Holiday mode (frost setting). After finding the thermostat instructions i sorted this. With the 2 items above it would have helped if there was a welcome pack with instructions ie where the towel rail switches are ( another point) where the bins are (yet another), if there was a recycling bin? local amenities (especially as the shop, due to illness, has erratic opening hours). Usually we find having rented in cornwall > 30 times in the last 20 years, there is spare bin bag and a little washing up liquid, but this was not the case here.

*** Owner Response*** We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Praa Waves. Thank you for your feedback which we found useful. We have now updated our welcome pack which includes the key code for the gates and instructions for the heating. Property Owner

About the location

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks – a Post Office and general stores, beach cafe with fish & chips, and a beach/surf shop stocked with everything you could need for a great day at the beach. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers.
