  • "We always stay in a no-dog holiday home, this is our 3rd stay here, on your web site it states no pets, yet…."

Inside the welcome/information folder is a notice of pet friendly & conditions? Please can you explain this to me? Having stripped the beds as required, we found the Mattress protector heavily stained as well as the pillow protectors, they need washing. We love this Apartment & will keep coming if the above addressed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We have had a new housekeeping team in place since the start of this year - the pet friendly page seen in the property was from the previous housekeepers, and was viewed during your previous visits. This has now been removed as the property does not allow dogs. Apologies, as it was overlooked when we updated the guest information folder. We can confirm that the mattress protectors were freshly put on during the changeover. There are many protectors available in the property, as they are washed and rotated regularly. We hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely location & house."

We loved the size & facilities. We were surprised to find soap, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, tea, etc for the first day or so and were really grateful. We chose to self cater and although there were a wide range of kitchen facilities it would benefit from a better vegetable peeler, larger saucepan/s and instructions for the microwave / oven were missing. During our stay there were people in the neighbouring appartments but we were not disturbed by noise, equally the park area was not noisy either. The walk to the beach was short and the facilities at the beach good - lifeguard station, bar, cafe. Thank you for trying to think of everything to make our stay perfect.

  • "Had a wonderful stay, beautiful location."

Particularly impressed with the clean bedding & comfortable mattresses. Just to make you aware that the towel rail in the en-suite off the main bedroom upstairs was not on during our stay, so a cold room to have to go into & towels remained damp. Curtains in the downstairs bedroom would be welcomed for a darker room. Only downside was having to vacate the Property at 9am. Understood that this was across the board during covid, but holidaying about four times a year in Cornwall, everywhere else is back to a 10am exit.

Thank you for your comments, we are sorry the towel rail was not on for your arrival, this should have been put on prior to your visit, the rail is electrically operated and the switch to operate this is located in the cupboard on the landing. There are slatted blinds in the downstairs bedroom which are effect in keeping out the light. We will certainly approach the housekeepers in relation to a later departure. Despite the points raised we are delighted you had a wonderful stay Property Owner

  • "This was a great property although with high temperatures it was very hot inside with very little way to cool the place down."

Also the house with the pool to the right had a party into the early hours making a lot of noise making it impossible to sleep. Overall though we had a good stay.

  • "Great property and with the exception of a couple of things (very dirty microwave that was not usuable - old food hanging from the top and dirty mop that made the house smell whenever the cupboard was opened) in good condition and comfortable."

Everything was as described and overall happy with the holiday and would book again.

Thank you for your feedback we are happy to hear you had a comfortable stay and would book again. Apologies for the microwave, this has been brought to the attention of our cleaners and a new mop has since been purchased. We look forward to welcoming you back to Praa Waves. Property Owner

  • "The property is in a lovely spot but there are a few issues which people should be aware of before they book."

Firstly, the noise levels. There is a park & car park behind the property which draws walkers very early in the morning & teenagers late at night/early hours of the morning!! Secondly, no sun canopy on the balcony. It wasn’t that hot whilst we were there, but it was too warm to sit on the balcony for any length of time. This meant the lounge was stifling in the afternoons as it is South facing. Some form of sun cover is needed & air conditioning when the weather is hot. The property has good facilities & I can’t think of anything we didn’t have that we needed during our stay. The 2 issues above did spoil our stay & we wouldn’t return to the property for those reasons.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear you found our property to be in a lovely spot. We have stayed at the property numerous times and have never had an issue with the small parking area to the rear of the property situated approximately 150 yards away. It fits about 6 cars and is used by mainly surfers. There is a play area for children with swings etc for public use, and the ‘park’ is the village green about 200 yards away used by dog walkers so it’s too far to be an issue. The balcony is a sun trap and does get hot, especially recently with the current hot spell. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to fit a permanent sun canopy. Property Owner

Stunning views. Had everything we needed. Slight problem with patio door key access as the key was bent by previous guests and the note left to inform on arrival was not clear initially that access was still possible but this was resolved quickly the following day. Very quiet surroundings and spacious apartment. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend. Thank you.

  • "I have visited Praa View twice before and it is a brilliant place to stay."

Unfortunately this time we had a few problems as the heating had been switched to vacation mode and the parking permit had gone missing. There was also a problem with the TV aerial and so we had a workman visit to look at that. And then a sink blocked up which definitely wasn’t anything we had done as I only used it once prior to this occurring. Although these were all minor issues and the office were very helpful, it took a while to deal with them all and generally detracted from what was supposed to be a relaxing short break.

  • "To take two days in effect from a week for cleaning is excessive and with such an expensive property seems unfair"

Thank you for your feedback. As you can understand, this is mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic requiring extra cleaning which we hope may not have to be in place much longer. We are sorry that this impacted your holiday on this occasion. Property Owner

  • "I sent an email on the Tuesday of our stay."

We were locked out of the property when the door slammed shut in the wind. We had no way of contacting you, your wait times were ridiculous. We had no other way of contacting you. I had to borrow a ladder and climb over the balcony! The property was not clean, despite your ‘deep’ cleaning claim. There is only one key for the property, two on the fob but only one fits the door, no idea what the other is for. This is our third stay at this property with another stay booked for next year. We are considering changing that now.

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. We are so sorry that you were locked out during your stay and found it difficult to get through to us. We will add a local contact to the details in case this ever happens again. We are also disappointed that you did not find the property as clean as you had expected, we will be taken action to address this. We are looking forward to you staying with us again. Property Owner

Thank you for the flowers and cream tea on arrival. Our only criticism was the very late arrival time of 6.30pm. We appreciate the covid situation, however, this was a bit too late. 4.30pm would have been a far better time.

  • "The property was immaculately presented upon arrival."

Scones, jam, clotted cream and Cornish apple juice waiting for us was a lovely touch. The area is so quiet, it was easy to relax. We were fortunate with the weather and sitting on the balcony, which gets the sun most of the day, was a delight. We decided not to take our dog with us on this holiday and were glad we made that decision as, being on the first and second floors, the grass area is not easily accessible and dogs are not even allowed on it. So we would have had to take the dog out the front of the property and around to the grass area beyond a tennis court (not available for use) each time. So more dogs allowed rather than dog friendly in my opinion. Other than that I can’t fault the place.

The apartment is superb - bright, very well equipped with good quality fixtures and fittings. It made for a very comfortable and welcoming home from home. We had a small maintenance problem during our week which was speedily fixed without fuss. The only thing we would have liked which was not supplied was a parasol or sunshade on the patio. • "Please take the above as feedback as finally I would like to say the property was the nicest most comfortable property we have stayed in and have already recommended to friends and fellow cornwall lovers."

The first thing that struck us on arrival is that on the site the property is listed as a house, but on the receipt as an apartment. It soon became clear that there is a ground floor flat beneath the property. This meant there was no direct access to the garden as expected. In fact we had no pass code to access the shared garden area. This we got after a call. The next point was that the property was cold inside. Of the 9 thermostats all were either off or in Holiday mode (frost setting). After finding the thermostat instructions i sorted this. With the 2 items above it would have helped if there was a welcome pack with instructions ie where the towel rail switches are ( another point) where the bins are (yet another), if there was a recycling bin? local amenities (especially as the shop, due to illness, has erratic opening hours). Usually we find having rented in cornwall > 30 times in the last 20 years, there is spare bin bag and a little washing up liquid, but this was not the case here.

*** Owner Response*** We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Praa Waves. Thank you for your feedback which we found useful. We have now updated our welcome pack which includes the key code for the gates and instructions for the heating. Property Owner

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
