  • "Lovely cottage within easy reach of the beach and village."

It had everything we needed and the views were lovely. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • "The cooker needs replacing."

It works, but you can no longer read the oven and grill temperatures. Also we had to buy a pan from Tesco as they were too old and dirty to use. You need to supply another medium saucepan,as there is only one huge one and one medium one apart from the milk pan. The knives and forks are also tatty. When I stripped the beds to leave I noticed how old and grey the duvets were, they need replacing as well. However the shower was good. You have the hot water set perfectly,we never had to boost it. The extra fridge in the garage was very useful. There was lots of storage space.

  • "We enjoyed our week in Polzeath."

The house was perfect providing everything promised and more. The views from the house were stunning. The walk back up to the house from the beach is very steep and not a suitable walk for everyone.

  • "Our stay of four adults at Godolphin was in the first week of June."

The first thing to note was how super clean the property was when we entered, as a first impression it couldn't have been better. The location is perfect, very near the beach and shops. Godolphin is well appointed and comfortable with an absolutely super view of the bay. It has a good sized back garden and which has the sun in the afternoons. The bedrooms were a reasonable size and the beds were comfortable. All in all an ideal holiday let, many thanks.

  • "I think it would be helpful to know that the walk to the beach and from the bungalow is quite taxing."

We enjoyed the fantastic view from the bungalow and recognise that in this case the bungalow is in a prime location.

Many thanks for your feedback which we really appreciate. This feedback has been passed on to the owner which will help with future bookings. Property Owner

  • "The cottages was very comfortable , the shower was brilliant and the bedrooms were also very comfortable."

There are steep steps to encounter especially those leading down to the garage. The garage was very useful to store our bikes. We found the the cooking facilities rather basic with an old fashioned hob which was slow and difficult to use since it was difficult to read the numbers on the dials.

  • "Had a great week at Godolphin."

Very comfortable and great views. Ideally situated for good access to the coast path and beaches. Many thanks to the owner for arranging the cleaning of the property in time for us access the property to meet our supermarket delivery at 4.00pm. We hadn’t been made aware that check in and check out times had changed to allow thorough cleaning of the property. Entirely understandable. We particularly appreciated the new and clean flooring throughout the property. We would definitely book here again.

  • "There were a few issues."

Time of arrival stated as 3pm on all paperwork but were told on arrival by cleaners it was 5pm. Difficult after long journey and one of the party suffering from ME and looking forward to lie down. Beautiful views but not stated anywhere that property on steep hill and 5 min access to village and beach gained only by going up and down steep hill - again difficult if you have ME. Niggles with front door lock seizing which was notified but not resolved 3 days later. Property pretty tired and little issues like showerhead not keeping in place but kept dropping down when used. Also several light bulbs not working. Summary - I think it would be beneficial to state that property is on hill and access to beach/village when walking is via steep hill (holidaymakers aren't always young and fit). Also the arrival time should be accurate to allow better travel planning. Property would benefit from a bit more maintenance.

Thank you for your feedback in regards to your stay at Godolphin (918894). The check in time for this property is 5.30pm, this is to allow for additional cleaning due to Covid-19. Regarding the property being on a steep hill, Polzeath is a hilly village, however, we have now added an additional note on our website to state this. In terms of the light bulbs, we also leave additional bulbs in the property as you can never determine when a bulb is going to go, as soon as you made us aware of this, we were able to send someone to the property to resolve this for you. We are sorry to hear that you had difficulties during your stay, although we do hope you enjoyed your holiday to Polzeath. Property Owner

  • "Close to the Polzeath beach and a 30 min walk to Rock."

Wonderful views from the house and garden.

  • "The views from this property are outstanding I could of just sat all day in the lounge at the window."

The property is in a great location and in a lovely quiet residential road. The owners have left a garage full of beach equipment which is useful for youngsters and there is a large garden At the rear of the property though it does require a bit of t l c, but there is a nice private seating area. Parking on a flat drive for two cars which in this street is a bonus as it is on a hill. The house has all the utensils you require and the beds are very comfortable and made with lovely soft bed linen and you are provided with lovely hotel fluffy towels, I would not hesitate in recommending this property, And the area of Polzeath.

  • "We had a good stay."

In general the cottage was in a rather unloved condition. We were very pleased to discover a separate toilet as well as the one in the bathroom. It would be worth mentioning that in the listing. There was a chair in the sitting room that was actually totally broken but they had shoved a pillow underneath it to keep it alive and the chair just sheds foam all over the floor. The cottage was in a great position with lovely views. We suspect that the cess pit needs emtying as the loos behaved rather strangely often seeming blocked. Overall we had a great stay but this cottage could do with a bit of tlc.

Good initial contact with sykes customer services then I felt it was left to me to chase. Eventually got into a cleaned property at 1830. On complaining I was eventually offered £50 a week later which equates to less than half a days rent which I reluctantly accepted.

As you arrive and park on the drive, your eyes are immediately drawn to the magnificent beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

As you enter this delightful cottage you will see a welcoming open fire in the sitting room, perfect for those out of season breaks, and what better way to relax than to sit in front of the window here and look out on those wonderful sea views.

The fitted kitchen with dining area looks out over the spacious garden, and the bathroom is perfect for resting those achy legs after a day’s walking along the stunning South West Coast Path.

The three bedrooms offer a choice of accommodation with two twin bedrooms and bunk room available.

The private enclosed garden offers relaxation at the end of the day, where you may wish to light the barbecue or just unwind with a refreshing drink, plus lockable storage is available for your surf boards and wet suits.

Polzeath beach is perfect for all ages and has been recognised as being an ideal place for surfing and bodyboarding.

It’s however just one of a number of wonderful beaches in the area, with Rock and Daymer Bay being close by.

Whilst the beaches are the main attraction there are countless other activities within a very short distance, such as the St Enodoc golf course, which overlooks Padstow and is one of the finest in the south west region.

The Camel Trail, offering 17 miles of walking and cycling opportunities and fishing on the River Camel are just a couple more options too.

The list is endless and makes this the perfect location for a holiday or short break at any time of the year.

POLZEATH

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring.
