"Would go back ."
"Fantastic! Thank you so much."
Lovely accommodation, loved how there was basics like milk, biscuits, cleaning supplies - such a nice touch. Lovely and clean and very spacious. Perfect location to visit multiple locations over Cornwall. Would definitely return :)
"Over the years we have stayed several times at Merryfield Haven, and it is a comfortable bungalow to stay in."
This time however it was particulary cold in the evenings, and we think instead of the wall heater fitted in the lounge area, it could be nice to have an electric fire fitted. I think phsycologically it would make it more cosy and give a warm feeling.
"We had another fantastic week at Merryfield haven."
The property is clean and has everything you need and dog friendly. The site is peaceful and in a good position for visiting all areas of Cornwall. We will be back!

The entry from the road should have lighting as the entrance is very dark this time of year Also better signed posted from the road
"Lovely place to stay."
Only niggle is no collection of recyclables on site. The chalet was lovely.
"Very impressed with the property, it was clean & very comfortable."
Lovely little extras such as fresh milk in the fridge, biscuits & even a dog bowl! TV/DVD players in both bedrooms & the lounge was a real novelty especially for our 8 year old daughter! We did need to adjust the heaters as found the pre-programmed timer/temperature wasn’t sufficient. This was easy enough to do though. Would highly recommend & hope to return to stay again. Thank you.
"Accommodation was clean and tidy and had everything needed for stay"
"Everything was outstanding, had a great time, met some lovely families that were also staying on site, only one thing let our stay down, the pub on site not being open, which was a bit odd, as in my opinion, the very silly restrictions were lifted on pubs, and had been for a while before we came down to cornwall."
but still, our stay was great, and we will always use sykes cottages for our holidays, as long as there within our price range, we have already booked for next year, so lets hope and pray our stupid government do things a little bit differently next year, so that way british holiday prices dont go through the roof, and yes we are gonna be in lockdown again this autumn, thats my prediction.
"Disappointed wasn’t a dishwasher!"
Otherwise a lovely place to stay if you don’t mind driving to go and find things to do. Well equipped, very clean, comfortable place to stay
"Great location and spotlessly clean."
Fantastic base to explore Cornwall. Will definitely be returning.
"Had a great holiday."
. The cottage was very well stocked with home comforts even dog bowls, tea, sugar, milk, cloths drier..it was very clean and the beds and sofa were comfortable.. Ideal location as you can go to either coasts all within a 30 minute drive.. The holiday park was well maintained and very quiet.. Would throughly recommend it..
"A very clean and well-equipped chalet, 3 TVs, Sound bar, DVD with lots of films, electric energy monitor, good fridge, very hot water, comfy beds, etc."
but very little explanation of how things worked or what was expected - such as the need to empty the dehumidifier twice a day, or how the red wheelie bin worked – it was 80% full when we arrive so wondered if we had to put it out for the alternate Tuesday collection? – no body else did and so we left if full! The Wi-Fi was slow but it is very remote so expected. Our big problem was no explanation of the heating – we arrived in torrential rain on a very cold day and the heavy rain continued for the next four days interspersed with hail showers. The chalet was not very cosy so we attempted to add a little extra heat. The living room and main bedroom had very new looking modern wall convector heaters with an LED display and a remote control. Using the remote I tried to increase the aimed temperature from 18c to 23c for a couple of hours, but discovered that in a few minutes the heater warmed up and then slowly went cold. Complaining to the owner I received a text saying that “The heaters do turn off about once an hour. This had to be done as we had a lot of incidents of the heaters being set at 30c and then going out for the day. The timer may be defaulting to 10 minutes”. I tried next day knowing this but could never get the heater to run for more than about 3 minutes and then slowly cool down; having reached full heat the element never switched on again. I researched the Internet to find the meaning of the LED display and discovered one is called “Room Temperature”, but this is a sensor within the heater and until the whole room temperature has reached equilibrium will never be the temperature across the room at the settee or table. I then received an email telling me his monitoring showed the room at 23c and I realised he was totally controlling the system using Wi-Fi and believing the devices “Room Temperature”. When I explained this to him and said the chalet needed a fan heater for quick heat and accept the convection heaters for background heating he stopped replying. The chalet never reached anywhere near 23c any time and it was clear to me that the owner’s objective was to minimise electricity costs no matter what, so we continued to wear our fleeces over our sweaters and accept the low temperatures. However, in the second half of our week the weather improved and the sun definitely warmed the chalet and the owner increased his settings to 21c but it was still only on limited times. I may add that the 2nd bedroom had an old heater with simple controls and built-in switched fan heater that kept that room cosy set at about 25%. The settings on the modern heater in the main bedroom were lower than the living area and we noted that the lack of heat is already causing damp mould to appear on the ceiling. So, in summary this is a lovely chalet which has been equipped with modern heaters that are not fit for purpose and needs a fan heater to cover inclement weather conditions. In any future holiday bookings, we will be packing a thermometer and small fan heater.
Thank you for your feedback. It was explained that during the daytime (not first thing in the morning or the evening), the heating system goes back to a level to keep the room warm but not too hot, and that this was done in response to radiators inadvertently being left on when unoccupied for the day and the bungalow getting up to 27-30C! At any time commented that the heater can be turned back on, the temperature adjusted, or it may be turned on with a timer function, and possibly that the guest had done that with short time-out. Except for checking that the radiators have not got to a dangerous level, the heating levels are not adjusted. They are only set down in the weeks that the bungalow is not occupied. Email replies did not stop, in fact a few further emails we exchanged about the new wi-fi connection and it was assumed that as no further commentswere made that the heating was now performing as required. The heaters are a couple of kW each in what are not huge rooms, and are modern systems. The feedback about a fan heater and will look into that- however that does bring it's own safety issues that must be taken into account! There is an air circulation and filtering system that removes damp air and will be checked as this may inadvertently been turned off, hence the issues with the dehumidifier. Property Owner

Very clean and well stocked with cleaning materials, lovely quiet area, not far from amazing walks and beaches, only small problem the wfi is not very good, we had very bad weather and wfi would have helped, had a lovely rest and recommend
"Well equipped bungalow in a row of similar holiday bungalows."
"You expect your every need will be catered for and that was the case."
A clean comfortable chalet which impressed the whole family. There was Wi-Fi but it was slow and maybe instructions for the washer/dryer could be available in addition to the dehumidifier which, had I not used one before, I wouldn't have known to empty the water reservoir regularly. The beds were very comfortable, a good strong shower, good fridge and freezer and a well equipped kitchen. The chalet is in very attractive grounds - thoroughly recommended!
"Very close to amenities, in a beautiful picturesque part of Cornwall."
Loads of beautiful beaches close by and lots to do.
"Clean, lovely cottage, everything provided."
Lots of extras. Stuff for cuppa when got there and biscuits. CLEAN. Comfy beds, good shower, plenty cleaning products. REALLY CLEAN. EVERYTHING well arranged. Had lovely holiday here. Will be back.

We enjoyed everything about it, it was just lovely, the only drawback was the internet was very slow, but thats not important, we only used this to look stuff up,we had a fabulous time,
"We have stayed 3 times now and believe it has a new owner."
They have added some more little touches to welcome us. Thank you. Nice and clean and the heater was on for us on arrival. Thank you. Everything is there you need. It is nice and quiet and the site is kept up together well.
"This is the third time we have stayed at Merryfield Haven - and have already booked up for 2020."
The only reason I have recorded as 'Met Expectations' is because we knew what to expect. The cottage is very well located and equipped.
"Merryfield Haven had everything we needed for our week's stay."
It was nice to have some milk in the fridge, honey, biscuits and a few capsules for the coffee machine for our arrival. WiFi worked well and all was nicely clean and comfortable. A great location to visit lots of sites in Cornwall!
"The position of the bungalows means you can visit lots of places in Cornwall."
"If you are looking for a well equipped and comfortable holiday accommodation then this is perfect."
Everything that we needed was there.... it was cosy and comfortable . The site that it is on was nice and secluded and when we went ..very quiet. Perfectly located to visit north and south coasts of Cornwall. Looe is only ten minutes drive away and is perfect for getting a nice fish and chip supper. We did not do any cooking I doors...however if you wish to do so the kitchen has everything that you would need. We would happily reccommend to our friends and family .
"I think customers should be aware that the kitchen in this bungalow is set up for wheelchair access."
The sink, worktops and cooker are quite low and we found it a bit awkward doing the cooking, washing up etc. A little complaint would be that it is a king size bed, which is a plus, but it it had a double bed size duvet which was not big enough. The facilities were good with plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses and a really good size fridge freezer and washer dryer. Overall a good value holiday let.
"This was a lovely holiday bungalow on a well kept site, so happy with my booking only regret is I only booked 1 week."
Also weather was beautiful so got to explore all around the Cornish coasts. My marks reflect how basic the bungalow was, wish it had a curtain over front door and a torch was provided as when it gets dusk no lights on the park. But they are just minor details and loved the place.
"There were cobwebs in the kitchen and most of the pots were dirty, so had to wash most things before we used them."
Also it didn’t tell us that the kitchen was fitted for wheelchair my husband is 6ft and also I’m not small so we struggled with the kitchen. Patio area needed weeding, and the bin was full and had flies round it. Other than that was a comfortable cottage and the site was lovely and quiet .
"Lovely stay in beautiful surroundings."
Clean and comfy place to spend the week. Everything was functional and helped make the stay enjoyable. Quiet and peaceful. WiFi was good, heating effective (the heaters struggled to stay attached to the wall though!). Slight damp smell at times from certain cupboards but didn’t affect much. Overall a nice, lovely stay.
