  • "Lodge really clean and comfortable, hot tub well mainted everyday, communication between company owner n myself fantastic."

Very spacious bedrooms, living room and kitchen. Will 100% definitely be back and book again. The onsite pub as a nice pub does very nice food, the onside gym and pool and games room very clean and tidy and well maintained. The play parks and park it self are very clean and maintained The only 2 negative points if any would be the hot water system is not the best it takes 2hours to be able to have enough to run a bath then it goes cold again bur not a problem as there a shower but could do with constant hot water upstairs for washing up. Also the property could do with a washing machine. But like I said we have had no problems we gave had very comfortable stay n will definitely be booking again! Sad to be leaving tommrow thankyoi for a lovely stay

  • "We found the lodge very dated and in need of lots of repair."

The smell of must was overpowering, we would not choose to stay at these lodges again.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in villa 51."

It was warm and comfortable. Great view of fields from the upper decking. Decking was slippery something there would help. It was a bit of a faff to start up the heating but we sorted it in the end. There were also back up heaters just in case. It was clean and had all we needed. The shower was a trickle rather than a flow so a pump would help. There were towel tails and loo roll holders missing which needed fixing and a few hooks on the doors would help. Overall It was a good location and the hot tub was wonderful. The pool and gym onsite was a bonus. The pub was excellent good food, resonabley priced and friendly staff. Terry ar reception was lovely and very helpful. Thankyou

  • "The lodge itself downstairs was not in a very good state of repair, there were patches of dirt, mould and holes where sealant had come away in the bathrooms."

The main bed was too small and uncomfortable, the matress protectors were not the right size for the beds which meant the bedding kept coming off. The coat rail in the hall came away from the wall after being used for one day, so we couldnt use again. There was dirty ice left within the freezer and the main bedroom curtains had staining and mould patches on them...the upstairs was better, with a well equipped kitchen........overall disappointing unfortunately.

  • "No hot water from any sink in the house which made washing dishes even more of a chore."

There was mould in the smaller bathroom and all over the curtains in the main bedroom. There was also a bizarre lack of towel racks in the main bathroom which didn't seem to make a lot of sense. The worst issue was that the Internet wasn't working initially in the property and I was advised to call the Internet company. My idea of spending 30 minutes on the phone to tech support in an area with bad signal is not ideal for a holiday but eventually the Internet issue was sorted once an engineer came over and fixed it. This was something I'd rather have worked with the property owner to resolve rather than needing to take time from my holiday to resolve myself, especially considering how much I paid for my time there.

  • "The accommodation was slightly run down as the bathroom could be updated and the kitchen could have an extra undercounted fridge."

The hot tub lid was not fitting properly and needed to be replaced. There was a slight musty aroma when we arrived , as if the cleaning had not be done properly.

  • "Lovely clean and well equipped lodge."

The kitchen facilities were excellent although a washing machine would have been useful. We had no hot water all week but managed by using the kettle for washing up and the shower for washing. The shower is struggling to empty water so maybe the drain needs a clean. Hot tub was good and they came round to clean it mid week. Single beds were comfy but the double bed NEEDS a new mattress as springs were poking while sleeping. Pub and pools etc were good. Sorry to leave felt relaxed and loved listening to the birds in the fields adjacent. Would have been helpful to have an hour longer for exit But totally understand with the cleaning schedules.

WiFi advertised as intermittent we had no problem it worked on three devices the whole stay. The hot tub kept really good temperature and was large. A definate bonus . Having an en suite /jack and Jill bathroom was nice . Double bedroom had patio doors on to hot tub . Twin bedroom at front is large and back room smaller but houses two good size singles. Plenty of storage space It is clean however we could smell dog thats our fault as we didn't realise it was a pet friendly property . Overall nice holiday home in a nice setting . Close to looe liskeard ,Seaton, go to kit Hill the views are breath taking . The rifle volunteer just up the road is a fantastic pub/ resturant fantastic food at reasonable prices. Tavistock near by great for the pannier Market. Great little base .

  • "Lodge was extremely run down outside, damp and unclean inside."

Hairs and dirt on the mattress protector, sweat marks on the pillows, MOULD growing on the curtains! We couldn’t stay in the lodge for a single night it was so bad, we put our children back in the car at 10:30pm and made the 4/5 hour drive home rather than stay in there. Trading standards have been informed as due care and skill was not upheld. We are on day 7 following my first contact with Sykes regarding this and the owner has still yet to respond. Very unhappy indeed.

  • "A fantastic holiday lodge in the quiet hills with lovely hillside views all around you."

The accommodation was perfect with a great hot tub that worked perfectly well and was exceptionally clean as was the whole lodge. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room to put your clothes away. No downsides to this accommodation except maybe the shower head needs to be fixed to stay where you want it lol!! But that is a minor issue. The resort had a lovely pool both inside and out and we used both. The pub is OK, good good but nothing special. We dined out locally, food fantastic. We would happily stay here again.

  • "We arrived to find the carpets extremely wet so the minute we took shoes off on entering the building we had wet feet/socks, these carpets took days to dry which left the ground floor feeling very damp."

The kitchen equipment needs updating there is limited cooking facilities and what is there is in a bad way, an example is chipped bakeware. The surfaces in kitchen were not clean we found after wiping them down, toilet also left a little to be desired thank goodness we brought bleach with us. The positives are the bedding was clean and it was extremely comfortable, the WiFi was of a great standard. The hot tub was spotless and keep beautifully clean. We generally had a great week despite the few points made.

  • "The Lodge was clean and nicely presented and very spacious so fit the 5 of us comfortably, the on site pub was nice and we loved being able to use the pool and parks on site."

It was nice that they let us know as soon as the property was ready which was about 3 hours before the check in time, we had arrived slightly early anyway so had just stopped in the village to have a drink whilst we waited. The Donkey Sactuary is within walking distance and is well worth a visit as there's loads to see and do there for younger children, having a large indoor soft play area. You're pretty central for visiting most places in Cornwall. We took our dog who loved it and found that Rock beach was the nicest dog beach in the area. I had seen comments made about the hot water, however, I found that if we put the boost on 30 minutes or so before we ran the bath and just let it fill up with hot water until it ran out and then added cold until it was the right temperature the bath was about half full which is more than enough for our daughter who doesn't particularly like showers. We had a small issue with the WiFi when we arrived but that was sorted out on the Monday morning and it worked perfectly at a good speed for the rest of the week. I would say make sure you read the listing you do need to take your own tea towels, there's a site shop but Tesco, Co op, Lidl and Home bargains are all close enough to drive to and have a better selection for things like toilet roll/kitchen roll/washing up liquid .. those every day essentials you don't really fancy packing.

  • "The facilities on the site were good, food was lovely, pool was run as well as it could considering Covid, reception was very helpful, the owner was helpful regarding letting us in earlier, the only annoyance we found was the hot water, even using the boost button it still wasn't enough to run a decent bath and at times even do the washing up, we ended up using the kettle for extra hot water."

Would still recommend and even return, ourselves and the children loved it.

  • "We enjoyed the lodge and the facilities provided and in this Covid-19 time that we find ourselves this really suited our needs."

Lots of space for a family of 4-6. 2 bathrooms is a bonus. This lodge is situated in a holiday park. The holiday park itself is on a hill - reception at the top and the lodge at the bottom. Whilst we find this quirky, others might struggle. We were also thought that the site itself could have done with some tlc on the outside - eg a lick of paint, all the grass cut (some areas done but not others), remove cobwebs from balconies etc. But it was lovely and quiet - we enjoyed the hot tub with little background noise (considering it is in a holiday park) and we enjoyed having half the main pool to ourselves during our two Covid swim sessions. Special mention to the receptionist who was really cheerful and helped us plan what we were going to do whilst we were there as well as The White Hart Inn who had an amazing well priced menu on and amazing view. Note - we visited the on site pub which was fine - no problems at all, but The White Hart Inn was that little bit better for us.

The shower wasn't great had to get the owner to sort that out, the hot water supply you have to keep pressing override, front door quite stiff, the toilet brush in the ensuite was filthy we had to go and buy a new one, when taking rubbish out we had to carry the bags all the way around the site to the main entrance as there are only one lot of bins, also could do with waste bins all around the holiday area.

  • "The lodge was just how we expected."

It was very clean, there was 6 of us and we all were very comfortable. The down side we went to use the facilities but turned away as we didn't have the key fob which was in the lodge, we felt this should have been with the welcome pack, and explained about the use of the pool. we felt the welcome pack was very out of date. There are lots of signs saying dos and don'ts but not how. We tryed to use the hottub on the 2nd morning (Sunday) but the screen was locked I phoned the management company on the Sunday night who talked me through how to unlock the screen who then said would come and show us on the Monday who in fairness turned up on the Thursday's so spend all week just trying to press any buttons, but sadly we did not get the full use out of. We used the club house which was good and the quiz was brilliant. It's a lovely lodge and would return. looking for next year.

Decor is a little dated and missed having no washing machine as there are also no laundry facilities on the site. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and caused a few aches and pains. The lodge layout is great but furnishings do need updating to make it more comfortable. The site is in a lovely location but again it lacks facilities during the day. There is no food or bar facilities until five every evening which seemed such a waste as the evening we had a meal in the restaurant was very good. Perfect for a very quiet get away as long as your well stocked up with groceries and happy to cook or travel out offsite for a lunch or breakfast

The pressure on the hot water taps seemed very low so struggled for hot water to wash dishes . Puzzles left in cottage was missing 2 pieces which was frustrating as you don’t realise til the end . There was a serious crack in the kitchen window .
