  • "We stayed at Kelyow over Christmas 2023 for two weeks, and we loved it."

The lodge has three bedrooms, not two, the third being a small single. The bathroom is excellent, with rainfall and traditional shower and loads of room. The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils, the oven is extensive, and everything is super clean. The garden is large, with decking and seating areas. The hot tub was always on and ready for use; it had loads of room and was fun. We will return to this lodge.

  • "I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for accommodation in Cornwall."

The property is maintained to a high standard and the enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. The hot tub was the perfect way to spend a relaxing evening after a busy day exploring the beautiful and stunning Cornish coastline. The owners were non intrusive and the lovely gift(s) on arrival were a really nice touch and very much appreciated. Only note I would add is Sykes listing show this property as a 2 bedroom, however there are actually 3 bedrooms.

  • "What a fantastic cottage and location for getting out and about in Cornwall."

The hosts were fantastic, a lovely arrival gift of Prosecco and chocolates to welcome us and the son Nathan always on hand with any questions and checking the hot tub daily which was a fabulous touch at the end of busy days exploiting. The accommodation is spotless, really spacious with a fantastic walk in shower. Outside a huge decking area with a hot tub with outdoor lights which was so lovely of an evening. We explored many areas of the local area from St Ives to Padstow and would book this place again when we return back to this part of the country. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Outstanding place.

The property was very clean and comfortable, the outlook was beautiful and it was in a lovely, quiet position. The garden and hot tub was an added bonus. We had dogs with us and the garden was ideal for them. We would most certainly return.

We used to live in Perranporth and our family is by Falmouth and this lodge location was perfect for everything, they could not have thought of anything more from the top notch furnishings to high quality bedding, towels, hot tub, etc. We are very fussy and the whole place is stunning, views beautiful, highly suitable for pets and private yet near to great restaurants. Thank you so much - even the St Day Site Manager was super friendly. We will be back! :-)

The owners were lovely. We have been coming to Cornwall for the last 13 years but this year it was just so relaxing, We didn’t feel like we had to go out every day. We literally just chilled! The privacy of the lodge and the enclosed garden made it so easy with my kids and dogs. Everything you could need from the bottle of wine to Netflix on tv was there! The owners have gone one step further to make you feel at home. St Day is very pretty with everything you need close by.

  • "The cottage was fantastic."

The location was perfect for exploring the southern tip of Cornwall on both north and south coasts. The facilities ticked all the boxes for us. Everybody had a comfortable bed, the kitchen was adequately stocked and thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge, flowers, a few dishwasher tablets, tea bags, and complimentary biscuits really made you feel welcomed at the property. We chose the property not only for the location but primarily as it offered a hot tub, we were looking for a bit of luxury. The hot tub was one of my favourites I've ever used and my favourite thing about the property, that and the view of the sun coming up from the sofa. The owners were quick to assist us to ensure we were using appliances correctly, heating and fire. A fabulous location, great facilities, great owners. We would definitely return. Thank you.

  • "This was meant to be a very relaxing family holiday."

We found on arrival that the lodge was in very poor condition. There was pet and human hair in the carpet and in the draws! The property had a very offensive smell of a stale/mould. The cupboards in the kitchen gave off an awful musky smell. Myself and my disabled mother spent the first day cleaning the whole place and yet the property owners failed to have a decent working hoover or alternative dust pan and brush forcing me to clean the floor on my hands and knees! The hoover smelt so bad when switched on the bag has clearly never seen the light of day! It was like 50 pairs of old smelling socks! Needless to say I am extremely dissatisfied with the experience of our stay. No one should have to have gone on holiday only to have to spent the first few hours cleaning! I had to buy my own air fresheners to help keep the bad smells at bay. We were keen to leave the lodge on a daily basis but sadly the weather was not on our side and we spent many a rainy day in the lodge. The other thing is if it rains you have nowhere to dry your washing. A clothes horse would have been really handy! The place on a whole was not very inviting. The only decent thing was the hot tub. However I will point out that two of the head rests were missing and one day the owner left his bag of chemicals lying around and forgot to switch the hot tub back on. I have a young 3year old who luckily didn’t get hold of these chemicals. The owners were made aware of all of these matters but nothing was done to compensate us. The outside bbq was rusty and full of old coal which again the smell was just horrendous, safe to say we didn’t use this but it would have been nice to have had the option given it was advertised as having a bbq. The sofa bed is just awful! It is made up of springs and no padding, this is not fit for anyone to sleep on and my daughter complained each evening from how uncomfortable it was! On the last day the owner called and left me a voice message to say a new WiFi router was being installed. We came back to the lodge to find a new router but no instructions on what the new password was so we had no use of the telly or WiFi connection which was very disappointing! The mobile number I had been emailed wasn’t connecting and the office was closed. All in all a dry disappointing stay at Keylow and I would like to be compensated for spending a week feeling miserable in a holiday lodge with misleading pictures and information on your website.

  • "Our location was fantastic at St Day as it was easy to reach so many wonderful coastlines and extremely well sign-posted."

Our Cabin Views were beautiful & the location was very quiet so it was easy to de-stress & relax at your own pace. We particularly liked our pets could come on holiday too. The garden was safe for our well behaved miniature pincher but unfortunately not safe enough for our cat to explore as there was a busy major road close by. However, there was loads of room for the pets to relax inside and a lovely full length window for the cat to bird-watch. I am extremely happy with my booking and I would definitely book Kelyow again.

  • "We has the perfect holiday and our accommodation was brilliant."

when we needed anything they where very quick to respond to us. the only small things that i think may be helpful for future guests are a mop being available as dogs welcome here just to help keep it clean and mop bathroom when finished in it. an outside tap would be excellent for the back garden. the only thing I was a little disappointed with was that there was a lot of dog poo left in the garden from the previous guests this was not a real problem I just cleaned it up but there was more than a few bits to clean up. maybe just do a check in the garden before next guests arrive. all in all we were very happy with our stay and I would 100% stay at this property again. I feel they done everything they could to accomodate us we have 3 dogs and were so pleased to be accepted to stay still.

Accommodation was comfortable clean and well presented. Just one small criticism the bathroom was small, I would have had the shower over the bath or removed the bath and had a bigger shower altogether, there needs to be a cabinet or at least a shelf for toothbrushes. I have another place booked with Sykes for December as I find they are a great holiday provider.

  • "Only the bathroom was a little bit of a not-thought-through when they built it: the cranes of the sink were to close to the edge, so the water didnt run freely enough to wash your hands or your face; and there was No shelf there to put the toiletries."

This was the only fault we could find;)

About the location

ST DAY

Porthtowan 5 miles; Portreath 6 miles; Truro 7 miles; St Ives 20 miles; Falmouth 10 miles.

St Day was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828. Six miles away is the popular village of Portreath which attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese takeaway, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 7 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast to Gwithian and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
