  • "A fantastic location and an extremely well equipped and pleasant house to spend a week's holiday in the south of Cornwall."

I would highly recommend to anyone. The only small request would be to extend the timer on the external light as it did go off quite quickly, otherwise 10/10.

Wonderful place to relax. So lovely tucked behind the church with a fabulous pub just the other side of the churchyard. Everyone we met in the village were all very friendly as were the pub staff. Excellent food there too. If you have children or a dog the house also has an enclosed garden with a shed containing furniture and a BBQ. Loved our stay and will hopefully return.

Fabulous cottage. Lovely welcome pack no of scones, jam cream and milk thank you! Beds really comfortable, showers superb even when hubby and I used both showers at the same time. Spotlessly clean and great wi-fi. And house so quiet. Yes the church bells rang but never woke us up! You only hear them when windows are open. The location was great and we were never short of places to visit or walk with our dog. Dog friendly pubs everywhere but disappointed we couldn’t access most beaches until after 6pm. Local pub great and I must say the lane alongside the church wall was not an issue at all! We have a CRV and it was easy to negotiate and even do a 3 point turn in front of the house. We would definitely return and will recommend to friends and family.

Lovely house and enclosed garden, very clean and comfortable..thanks to the owner for providing the scones and essential starter pack. No trouble driving the car between the entrance walls . Pleasant walk down to mousehole ...lots to see and good choice of eateries. Made very welcome by the staff at King's Arms which is only a couple of minutes stroll to the nearest pub 2 mins from house. Would recommend booking above.

  • "The neighbour's parking caused a little difficulty in trying to get out of what is a tight space."

They parked two cars in their drive and with a little thought , might have considered parking closer to their gate, so that their second car did not take up so much room. The cottage was adequate for our needs and reasonably well equipped. That said, the mattresses tended to droop at the edges, so sleeping near the edge of the bed was quite perilous! Also the duvets were so thin, you could almost see through them. It was not a problem for me but my wife had to use an additional blanket to keep warm. These comments are made only to be helpful. Our stay was otherwise very pleasant. I would book again at this property and also recommend it to others.

  • "This is a lovely bolt-hole, tucked away in the village of Paul."

We would not hesitate to recommend the place and hope to return ourselves. However, previous reviews mirror our thoughts on the few shortcomings of the cottage, and need pointing out again, as they were recurring and not dealt with to date. Nothing in the place, not even salt and pepper?!! Not a thing to welcome you except a 'cleaning pack'! Not my idea of a cheery welcome I must say. Haven't ever been to a cottage where there wasn't even a pint of milk or something. There should perhaps be some notice in the booking notes to this effect, particularly when one arrives late and hopes to at least have the basics. One or two things not functional and no luck phoning the contact number either, bit tricky when there's only a landline number given and no mobile signal at the property. An email or mobile number would have helped... It's a gorgeous little cottage, we hope to return soon, please take the above critique as constructive criticism rather than a bit of a moan!

Great little garden if you have a doggy with you. Village location within walking distance to Mousehole and 2 mins to The Kings Arms which serves delicious food. We explored a great deal of this part of Cornwall, despite the March weather and it being 'out of season' there was plenty to see and do, with the advantage of everywhere being slightly quieter. Would definitely return to Bos Lowen again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The narrow entrance to the lane managed more confidently each day, just be aware of cars from the left when exiting. Whilst we were unfortunate to experience a very wet week knowing that we had the cottage to return to negated that. The Kings Arms just being round the corner a bonus. Well sited to explore West Penwith area, particularly enjoined the walk from Sennan Cove to Lands End which despite the wet weather and the state of most other footpaths was firm and dry for the most part and offers up spectacular views. Would definitely like to revisit if the opportunity presents itself.

I also did a lot of cooking and I was very impressed how well organised the kitchen was and I had everything that I needed. I would add that the bed was extremely comfortable. It's a great location - just 10 mins walk downhill to Mousehole and 20 mins across the fields, to Newlyn. The description of the access lane needs to be improved to indicate its narrow nature with the bend part way (we had no problems but there are scratch marks on the wall indicating others did!) The Sykes instructions said vacate by 10:00 but the information in the property said vacate by 09:30. The price we paid was OK but if I was paying the summer holiday prices (I wouldn't!!) Peaceful walled garden in the shadow of the church.Bells do ring frequently - ancient Cornish village and we were invited to the church choir practice by a visiting gardener. I suppose I just wanted more Cornish authenticity - not a pack of Coop scones (although the cream was delicious and used on fresh strawberries) toilet seat was loose which was a pain all holiday and the bin situation…I didn’t want bin bags hanging around until Friday - an outside bin needs providing. Loved the white fresh sheets, towels & wood flooring. The entrance to the property needs more explanation - it’s tight. Upstairs of the property great - downstairs just a little small for a family of 4. But thank you thank you we had a wonderful holiday despite the mixed weather.

Lots of nice places to eat nearby including The Kings Arms in Paul and 2 Fore Street in Mousehole. The parking was sufficient for a Volvo XC40 but there’s not much room to park anything much bigger. It is a very narrow lane with a bend approaching the property which we managed with care in our car. This should be considered when booking the property. The pub in the village did say that you could park in their car park if you went there. We expected to find essentials like salt, pepper, olive oil, milk, hand wash, toilet roll, washing up liquid etc but it did not have any of these. When we have stayed at previous holiday cottages these essentials have always been supplied. We saw from previous comments that a cream tea and welcome pack was provided but we did not receive this. We used the BBQ a few times but the grill wasn’t clean so we had to wash this prior to use.

  • "BOS LOWEN was excellent!"

Three of us stayed for one week during March/April. The property was in a wonderful condition and provided everything we needed to self cater. The parking was better than we had expected and would quite easily fit a full size car or two smaller cars. The approach to the property between the church and another house was very narrow but quite easily dealt with by a reasonably competent driver. The sound of the church bells was wonderful but not intrusive. We arranged for a Tesco food delivery which arrived a short while after we did, the driver had no difficulty in finding the property. The King's Arms pub serves excellent food and drink and is two minutes walk away. The nearest shops appeared to be a fifteen minute walk away in the wonderful coastal village of Mouse Hole (I should point out it is a steep walk down to Mouse Hole along the country lane which is probably very busy during the summer. We all enjoyed the walk but strongly recommend using a torch which the owners do provide for the evenings). Returning to my comment on local shops there are two Deli's in Mouse Hole which are not cheap but do sell morning coffee's and breakfasts if you so wish but for more reasonable prices the Co-op in Newlyn is a short 5 minute drive. Both showers were excellent, hot with good water pressure. The garden was quite private and well kept and again benefited from the church chimes. Local buses are easily accessed from the bus stop which is closer than the local pub. All said this accommodation was for us, idyllically located, peaceful and somewhere we would love to return to. Cannot comment on the owners as we had no interaction with them but the information at the property was fully sufficient. Many thanks for a delightful stay!!

  • "Delightful stay in a very smart self contained 1 storey property, nice location although access could be a problem for large vehicles."

Immaculate throughout, with very nice touches, would have liked control of electric convector heaters, remotely controlled. I would defiantly return if i plan to return to this area of Cornwall and will certainly recommend to family & friends.
