  • "The cottage was lovely & very comfy."

The garden was a lot smaller than I expected but due to the time of year we didn’t use it. Midsomer Norton is a lovely place & I would highly recommend.

It is ideally placed for Bath, Cheddar, Weston Super Mare and Bristol, the Clifton suspension bridge is well worth a walk to. Darren & Tina are a lovely and accommodating couple, nothing too much trouble. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short (a crisis at home) but we hope to return again some time, and we would recommend Muskoka Lodge to any one thinking of a trip to this area.

  • "Beds were so uncomfortable I barely slept."

Well established cobwebs in kitchen/living area and lots of dirt under the sofas. Located on a very busy road

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you found some issues during your stay. Had you let us know during your stay (as we live next door), we would have been happy to help you. The beds are less than 10 weeks old and we would say they are of a medium firmness but we appreciate this can be subjective according to individual preference. We found a small spider after your stay but did not find any 'established' cobwebs as these would only have been made during your stay. Unfortunately, it is that season when spiders come indoors but we have a very good cleaner, as reflected in all of our feedback. We only found a very small amount of dust under the sofa bed which is very heavy to lift so apologies if this was missed. The map on the property page also clearly shows the location of the lodge on the edge of a B road and this can get a little busy during rush hour or the end of the school day, but we have added a note now to make this clearer. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

Very comfortable and very clean with hand santiser and anti-bac spray available for us to use. Off-road parking, 3 bathrooms and your own garden are great bonuses. Ideal location for visiting all the places of interest Somerset offers including Bath, Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury. Owners are friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to eat and nice walks to do from the property. Only 6 minute walk into Midsomer Norton. We really enjoyed staying in this lovely property.

  • "Cottage was very nice and comfortable."

Perhaps let people know it is on a busy road and drive is quite difficult to get out of as it’s hard to see traffic approaching round a bend. Also that although you have a small part of the garden to sit out in the owners have a swimming pool in the main part of the garden which they use to entertain friends which means you can’t really sit out there as it feels like an intrusion plus you may not want to hear their music or conversation. I know it was an exceptionally hot week and can’t blame them for wanting to use their pool but had we known we would probably have picked somewhere different as we like to be able to sit in the garden and on this occasion there was three days when we could not.

  • "This is a lovely cottage/lodge with a really homely feeling."

There was plenty of room for us as a family of 5 - 2 adults plus our 15, 12 and 9 year olds. The owners greeted us warmly and provided lots of welcome goodies - milk, tea & coffee, flowers. The property was clean and well furnished. Extras such as hand sanitiser and antibacterial sprays were also provided in response to the additional Covid-19 requirements. The only slight negative for us was that the sofa bed mattress was a little thin for the adults to sleep on comfortably, but our 9 year old was very happy sleeping on it! This is a great base for visiting the many attractions in the local area. Lots of the local takeaways and restaurants were open (post Lockdown) and many were happy to deliver to this Lodge. As we have family living in this area, we will definitely be looking to stay here again.

  • "Comfortable, spacious accommodation conveniently located for exploring this part of Somerset."

Wells, Bath, Frome and Bristol all easily reached by car or by bus (stops minutes walk away). Midsomer Norton itself is a busy working town with plenty of shops, several local pubs including a large Wetherspoons in a tastefully renovated old cinema. The accommodation owners live adjacent up and are helpful, friendly and unobtrusive. Good value for money. The house is situated on a quite busy road and there is some traffic noise, especially upstairs- not a major problem, though light sleepers might employ ear plugs. Thoroughly recommended.

The only negative was access and egress from the property which at times was very difficult. North Road is one of the main routes into Midsomer Norton with fast moving traffic. Turning into the property was at times not easy while leaving it could be a nightmare as high walls at the front of the garden meant there was virtually no vision splay.
