"Warm and cosy although the bathroom needs a refit."
No shower but we knew that beforehand.
Hello Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that you were disappointed with the bathroom and hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend. Previous guests thought that a shower in there didn’t work so we had a new bathroom fitted 3 years ago with just a bath. All best wishes Anne and Andy Property Owner
"Lovely cottage in an ideal location for all amenties and sites of interest."
The downside is the lack of a shower - I would not have booked this property had this been made clear in the description.
"Had a wonderful time in Malvern."
Cottage was very clean and comfortable. No problems what so ever. Would highly recommend it, and wouldnt hesitate to stay again if we holiday in that area.
"Beautiful cottage, very well equipped with lovely furnishings."
The only downside is the bathroom as the sloping ceiling made it difficult to use and no shower attachment for hair washing. It's a long time since I washed my hair in the kitchen sink but it was the only way here
"Great little quaint house, central location to nearby shops."
We loved the decor throughout the house it had a really homely feel. It was perfect for my mum and I to use as a base to see the local area. The beds are so comfy we slept like babies! Would highly recommend this little chocolate box house ❤️
"What more can I say other than this is a delightful holiday accommodation."
the cleanliness and decoration touches are outstanding
"Clean and comfortable cottage within a 5 minute walk of a variety of shops, The kitchen was spacious and well equipped and the beds comfortable."
A small rear garden had a table and chairs and was ideal for enjoying the good weather. The view of the hills from the bedroom window was lovely. The off road car parking was a boon and big enough for our small car. The town has a good bus service as well as a railway station. It is unfortunate that there is no shower but height restrictions could make it difficult to fit one. The owner, Anne was very helpful when I phoned her. I would recommend this property.
"Fabulous property, beautifully furnished and with so many thoughtful touches."
It's also in a great position, a 10-15 walk to Great Malvern, and a 1 minute walk to The Morgan pub which is lovely and very friendly.
"Lovely stay at Beacon cottage."
Lovely and convenient position in Malvern. Slight problem with the heating system, but easily dealt with by very responsive owners. Many thanks.
"A lovely holiday cottage in a peaceful location."
A few minutes' walk from Great Malvern Station.
"Beacon cottage was as comfortable as ever."
We were there in pretty cold weather but the cottage is always snug. We'll be back!
Thank you so much for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay again and that you were cosy. All best wishes Anne and Andy Property Owner
"The only drawback for us was the lack of a shower, although I can see that fitting one would be impractical."
It was my own fault because I didn't read the details carefully enough before booking. It certainly didn't spoil our holiday and in all other respects the cottage was excellent.
"When we asked for the heating to be turned up we were told that it was not chilly, when we asked for the dishwasher to be repaired we were told to wash up by hand !"
We're shocked and disappointed by this comment - when you thought the heating wasn't working even though the temperature at the thermostat was 22 degrees we advised you to check that all the radiators were turned up fully. The next day you texted to say that the heating was working well now, the cottage was toasty and you had even had to turn some radiators down. On NEW YEARS DAY when you told us that the dishwasher suddenly wasn't working ( with 4 nights of your 14 night stay remaining) we tried our best to help with suggestions and troubleshooting and apologised on more than one occasion. We explained that we could only have someone to look at the dishwasher after you had left, due to it being New Year's Day and bank holiday the day after etc. and mentioned that there was also washing up liquid and sponges available . "Beacon Cottage was very cosy."
The kitchen had everything including plenty of dishes. The cottage was very clean. The bedrooms were small but adequate. Just beware of the low ceilings as mentioned previously by others. Netflix was a bonus on TV. We really liked the cottage overall. Barnard's Green is a lovely place. Lovely walk to Great Malvern and the Railway Station. We got the train from there to Worcester which took ten minutes. The only downside is fridge-freezer is really a must rather than a small icebox. There is plenty of room for one. As we had been in another cottage the previous week we did not want to eat out all the time. There was also the issue of a neighbours dog barking sometimes at night and everyday at 6.00am onwards. As I am a very light sleeper I had to sleep in the small single bed at the back apart from my husband. It is also on a busy road and there is traffic noise. One day it was quite nice so we sat in the lovely garden only to be disturbed by this dog barking all afternoon. Obviously this is not the owner's fault but for someone who is a light sleeper it is an issue when one is on holiday!
"A lovely little cottage."
Excellent information on how to manage heating, alarm, t.v. etc. Beautifully clean. Very snug. What more could you want?
"The cottage is in an ideal location few minutes from railway Station, close to a friendly pub and just a few minutes away from shops and takeaways."
"This is a great cottage, very clean and tidy, the kitchen is very well stocked with every plate pot pan cutlery knifes, glasses of all kinds etc, the only thing i will mention to let people know is that there is no shower, making it difficult to wash your hair."
can the owners not convert the down stairs toilet in to a shower room, or fit a Combination shower/ tap on the upstairs bathroom. The other annoying thing is getting woken up with the dog barking at 6.15am every morning when the owner over the road lets it out, goes on for 10 to 15 mins. did not find out who it is or i would have said something. The cottage is very handy for the pub 4 mins walk and shops 10 or 15 mins walk away. We had a great time exploring the cotswolds from this area.
"Beacon cottage is a well maintained, tastefully decorated property."
It is kept clean to a very high standard. It has a well appointed kitchen with a cosy dining area. The living room is comfortable and there is a wide choice of viewing options on the t.v. There is also a selection of games and dvds to choose from on a quiet night in. A useful information folder has also been provided for the property. The bathroom is a little small and would be better suited to a shower rather than a bath, but at the end of the day it is a holiday cottage and the inconvenience is minimal.
"Beautiful little cottage."
Really well kept inside and out. Great location, can walk to The Bluebell pub (food recommended) & to Great Malvern too. Shops 3 mins walk for basics. Highly recommend.
"Such as shame this cottage could be perfect."
It really needs a shower or some sort of spray attachment. No way to clean bath or wash your hair. Also needs a fridge freezer and there is plenty of room for a large free standing one.
"Although the listing is technically correct it would be helpful to make it clear that there are no facilities of any sort to have a shower, not even a hand held shower head over the bath."
"Great location lovely well cared for property Loved the downstairs and rear garden The bathroom yoga was most interesting!"
"I think we had not realised a) no shower b) how low the ceilings are upstairs - 3 of us are around 6 foot so found this a challenge - especially in the bath room."
But the rest of the house is great and near lots of ammentities.
"A beautifully set out cottage, nice touches all round, space was a bit limited upstairs but we were aware of that before going."
Good central base for exploring the Malvern Hills, a very comfortable 'home' to come back to each day. All communication and correspondence with Sykes was efficient and comprehensive.
"Central, comfortable and warm, close to shops and ameinities, everything you need in the cottage."
The whole area has exceptional covid19 security so we felt very secure. We can't fault the holiday. Perfect. We will be back.
"Very enjoyable stay and the little things such as milk on arrival; tea and the garden lights were very welcome."
Very convenient for Barnards Green, five minutes on foot, and nearby destinations such as Worcester; Gloucester, Evesham and Upton. Only drawback - some ceiling heights - difficult for 5'10'' person.
CLOSE TO LOCAL SHOPS. HANDY FOR GREAT MALVERN STATION. ALTOGETHER IT MADE FOR A PLEASANT STAY
"Very clean, attractive and well equipped cottage."
The only downside was the low ceiling in the bathroom, but we soon adapted to that. The cottage was only 5 minutes drive from the Three Counties Showground, which was most convenient for us as we spent several days attending an event there.
"Comfortable, cosy cottage."
We would stay there again.
"Lovely warm & comfortable cottage, with an extremely short driveway and with a very busy road as a major flaw."
Downstairs well thought out & equipped - not so upstairs - with limited hanging space and severe height restriction in bathroom with a poor finish. needs more tiling, shelving, towel hook & heated towel rail a must. We accept head space is difficult in a cottage but future guests over 5ft 6ins in height should be warned. Similarly, the driveway issue, which really spoilt our stay. On a lesser note, the provision of small hand towels for (a)kitchen, (b) downstairs WC and (c) bathroom would be useful (and more hygienic). NB A list of items suitable for recycling would also be useful. Have tried to be constructive in our comments but If we'd known about the drive and height issues we wouldn't have booked this specific accommodation.

"Usually photographs of holiday cottages can be flattering and the cottage can be disappointing in some respects."
But in the case of Beacon Cottage it is the opposite, this cottage far exceeded our expectations. Yes as some others have said the parking space is small but we had no problems parking on the road directly outside the cottage. The cottage is clean, well decorated and comfortable and we would recommend Beacon Cottage without reservation
"The location of this cottage is excellent."
The property is at least as pretty as the pictures show it to be, and the owners have provided lots of maps/walking routes to plan walks / trips etc. The beds are very comfortable. Walking on the Malvern hills is great. It is a quick 10-15min walk into the centre of Great Malvern. It is a 7 mins walk to Great Malvern Station or the nearby bus stop into town. A weekly bus pass for £15 is good value as you can go anywhere in Malvern as well as hop on/off the 44 bus (four buses an hour) into the centre of town or back to the cottage from town if you are feeling tired. The Priory is beautiful and it is worth letting the volunteer guides briefly talk you through the history to bring it alive.
"Handy cottage for exploring, useful being near station."
We did day trips to Hereford and Worcester by train as well as a pleasant boat trip to Tewksbury. Wonderful cathedrals and Abbey. Nice to call in to the Morgan pub on the way back for a pint, pity it only does lunches. Did eat at the Bluebell twice but although an easy walk and the pub did have some atmosphere, the meals were fairly ordinary. The cottage was fine although the kitchen a bit unfriendly, first cottage we've been to without even some cling wrap - especially for international travellers. Did enjoy watching the thatchers at work over the road. Barbara, Australia
"Lovely cottage,beautifully decorated."
Easy walking distance from local Co-Op and several take-aways. Ideal base to explore area. Had a great time.
"Beacon cottage is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay, and offers a perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas."
We loved our stay there and couldn’t recommend highly enough!
"Very nice cottage, excellent facilities, easy to access."
"Lovely little cottage with parking."
Very clean and comfortable and within walking distance of the town. Would definitely book here again
"We were a party of 3 adults on 5 night break."
The cottage is set in a very quiet area of Malvern with a small choice of shops and pubs a short walk away in Barnards Green. If you are prepared to walk a small bit further you can venture up to the centre of Malvern for a wider choice of facilities A Kitchen facilities were excellent, living room was very comfortable with tv and Internet available if required. Bedrooms were fine.As may be expected for a small cottage headroom at the upstairs toilet and shower was a bit restricted for taller members of our group - however when put against all the positives this was a minor issue as there was a downstairs toilet which was more than adequate for our needs.
"Fabulous little property, very clean, well equipped, beautifully decorated, and well located in Malvern."
We visited the local theatre ,the Morgan factory and had snow on the tops of the Malvern Hills all adding up to a great week. The only negative points were the off road parking is more suited to a small car but road side parking outside the property was not a problem. If you are more than 5ft 8 tall then better to use the bath than the shower due to low headroom, and ladies note restricted clothes hanging space all part of the charm of this delightful cottage.
"Location was very good ie."
near local shops, good bus and train links to near and far destinations. Priory and independent shops in Great Malvern were very interesting. Would recommend to both walkers and non walkers. The cottage was ideal for two to four people. It was very well appointed and comfortable.
"A lovely cottage, within easy walking distance of Malvern town."
The cottage was homely, clean and fully equipped with all that you need. A great base for getting out and about I would definitely recommend and I would definitely return and stay at Beacon Cottage again
"Even nicer and cosier than we thought, very clean and welcoming."
There was absolutely everything we needed and had the best time. Would definitely come back.
"This was an extemely homely and comfortable cottage to stay in."
It was easy walking distance to the supermarket and some take-away shops as well as the pub. Great location, nice street and the cottage was absolutely beautifully decorated! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Malvern.
"As mentioned in other reviews, this is not a house for anyone on the tall side."
I am average height & struggled in the shower. Other than that, good location.
"All the little extras and the excellent facilities/furnishings showed that the hosts really cared for the comfort of their guests!"
Great cottage in a great location for exploring Malvern and the surrounding area.

Hi there, a wonderful relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings, enjoyed the area very much, Ledbury is a most delightful place and well worth a visit, i would like to take this opportunity to thank the owner who very kindly returned my husbands electric shaver which we left at the cottage, this is really appreciated, and i can only say thankyou once again, looking forward to returning sometime in the future to a very pretty place yours sincerely k doyle (mrs)
"What a gorgeous place!"
We had a wonderful week in Beacon Cottage in Great Malvern. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and warm. It had everything we needed for the week, in fact, I wasn't expecting it to be so well stocked so we'd taken our own loo rolls, kitchen towel, washing up sponge, and we needn't have. It's very well positioned and is only around a 10-minute walk to Great Malvern station, and around 15 to 20 minutes from the main part of town. We also found the excellent bakery just two minutes down the road, which people had mentioned in the guest book at the cottage. Yes you have to watch your head upstairs if you're on the tall side, especially in the bathroom, and yes the off-road parking space could be an issue if you have a long car - but neither posed a problem for us (you just get used to ducking, and there's plenty of parking around about if your car doesn't fit on the drive). We had such a super time, we didn't want to leave! We'll definitely try to book the cottage again for future visits to Malvern.
"Lovely comfortable cottage with excellent facilities, very conveniently placed for Barnards Green shopping and particulary the Court Road Bakery!"
Tended to be dark inside but it was a very grey week in Malvern.
"Anne's and Andy's cottage in Malvern is an absolute gem."
Great and safe location with easy access to the train station and local shops. The cottage is immaculate and maintained to a very high standard, very well equipped with everything you need and provides a comfortable home away from home. Entertainment set up is a wonderful perk. Communication with both Anne and Andy is very friendly and easy. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
"Excellent location with views of the Malverns and a cottage presented in immaculate condition."
The Good: 1. Excellent comfortable beds 2. High quality kitchen with every amenity 3. Cosy lounge with excellent TV options (Freeview/Amazon Firestick/Apple TV) 4. Super efficient heating and hot water 5. 15 mins walk to the main shopping/restaurant area 6. Morgan pub nearby very friendly and cosy 7. Good range of local food shopping and take away foods within 500 yards 8. Ideally located to get to all walks and towns such as Worcester/Cheltenham and Hereford What you also need to know (not necessarily bad but you should be aware) 1. Its a dormer so space on one side of each of the bedrooms is compromised, position the smallest person on that side if your prone to getting up in night! 2. Shower space is very tight due to the dormer, I am 6 ft tall and my head when stood straight touched the roof when in the shower, toilet in the same bathroom you need to be aware so you don't bang your head 3. Parking is tight...You need to be good at reversing as there is pressure from the traffic that goes down the road. Take your time, if you have rear parking sensors then ideal. My car is an Audi Q3 (not a huge car) anything bigger will hang out over the path 4. The house is at the low point in terms of sea level for Great Malvern, no issue but it means that a walk up to town is all uphill and relatively steep near the top end so if you have mobility issues you should be aware.
"Lovely decor well thought out holiday let"
