  • "The cottage is very comfortable, cosy and welcoming."

Situated in a quiet position in a charming Cotswold village, central by car to most places of interest and with numerous walks locally, a perfect place for a quiet stay. Two pubs with great restaurants in the village and lots of others within short driving distances.

Thank you for your feedback and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Keen Cottage in Kingham. I hope you managed to try the Plough and Wild Rabbit in the Village. We would love to welcome you back again very soon. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "Cottage was as described but unacceptable response to emergency plumbing issue."

It was reported at 19.00 on the Wednesday evening and a plumber did not come until 17.20 on the Thursday. Sink was completely unusable and was filled with black smelly gunge form the blocked pipes. water from upstairs sinks etc caused the l kitchen sink to overflow which meant we could not use the bathrooms properly either. We had planned to cook our meals and had bought food for this, seen by housekeeper, but had to go out as no way could any cooking be done due to hygiene issues and no sink and we would soon have run out of crockery etc. Very disappointed that no compensation was offered for the discomfort and in convienience.

We appreciate you providing this feedback regarding your stay at Keen Cottage. We are very sorry that you encountered issues with the plumbing and can only apologise for the inconvenience caused. This should not have happened and this is not our usual high standards at Manor Cottages. We attempted to rectify the problem during your stay but unfortunately this turned out to be a more difficult issue than originally expected. It has now all been fixed and we're sorry this impacted your stay. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Keen Cottage is a comfortable, stylish cottage set in the beautiful, peaceful village of Kingham that is easily accessible from/to London and nearby villages and market towns."

There is a very interesting book collection, we’ve made a list so that we may read some of them at our leisure another time. We all slept well on the very comfortable beds. There are a couple of simple updates we suggest: 1) Make the "Mind the Step" signs more visible by placing a contrasting strip along the steps. All 4 of us almost fell over more than once !! 2) Replace the toilet seat in the ensuite bathroom as this doesn't seem to close.

Thank you for taking time to leave this feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and have passed your comments on to housekeeping. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

Stayed during the heatwave and the owner had the forethought to provide an air con unit which was much appreciated. We would certainly recommend staying at the cottage which proved to be a good base to access most beauty spots in the Cotswolds.

  • "Beautiful location - so peaceful and quiet."

We loved the way the two cottages had been joined with the glass extension, the log burner was great and the place was spotlessly clean (not something we always find). The bed was comfortable, the kitchen lovely and parking wasn't a problem. Only a couple of thing would raise this from a 95% perfect to 100%. The sofa and armchairs aren't the comfiest, a new set would really be an asset. Maybe also add a few books - it's always nice to pick up a book on holiday - and some tasteful pictures on the wall; both would add a more homely touch. And finally, while we appreciated the milk and biscuits (and I know people have allergies etc) but it's always really welcoming when find a small welcoming basket with say, bread, eggs etc. and some fresh flowers. Just a thought. But all in all, a truly relaxing stay and we'd come again for sure.

Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay at Keen's Cottage. We're so glad you enjoyed the many aspects of this property. We will pass on your comments to the owners regarding the sofa and armchairs, books and pictures and suggestions regarding the welcoming basket. We hope to welcome you back to the cottage in the future. Property Owner

Nice and cosy, especially with the wood burner. Would stay there again without hesitation. Good location. Parking right outside the cottage may not always be possible, so bear in mind when bringing lots of stuff; Also, double-check the key collection details; the description needs to be clearer on where "the alleyway" is.

  • "Loved this cottage."

It felt very much like a home from home. It was very clean and comfortable, comfy beds and lots of sitting space between the living room and dining conservatory. We comfortably had 6 people socially distancing within the conservatory. The kitchen is very well stocked with crockery and ameneties. It's in a beautiful village with two gastro pubs within a few minutes walk and many others within 10-20 mins drive. Daylesford Farm is a gentle 40 mins walk away. Overall a great place to stay in a beautiful part of the country.

The fan is the only way to cool the room. This is a charming cottage in a delightful setting. A perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds - we discovered nearby Great Tew, a picture-perfect, chocolate-box-like, thatched village! The walk from the cottage along the bridle-path to the organic farm shop at Daylesford is rewarded with an excellent café experience.

The village of Kingham is charming. The shop sells adequate supplies and to dine at The Wild Rabbit Pub is a treat. Kingham station provides ready and easy access to visiting friends; a superior advantage. The proximity of Daylesford Organic Farm shop and cafes when one desires a special breakfast, is a bonus. Coming from Australia, the wide brown land, the honey coloured buildings nestled in the verdant grasslands and perfumed gardens, provided special joy. Our week of staying in Keen’s Cottage will always be remembered.

  • "Gorgeous little cottage but for a week's stay we found the couch and chairs rather uncomfortable as my husband is very tall."

They are quite petite and firm. Good facilities in the kitchen area however we desperately needed a hoover by the 3rd day with 2 children staying too! The Village of Kingham was lovely but somewhere in the listing it said the cottage was in Stow on the wolds which is actually where we thought we were going. Not knowing the area we assumed Kingham was maybe a town within the county of Stow on the wolds or something...we got confused somewhere along the lines! Sykes could be clearer on where it is. We had to call to get the exact address and were told by the agent it was in Stow on the Wolds, Oxfordshire! Nice location however, warm and cosy. Would recommend to walkers or those seeking peace and quiet. We would stay again without the children but the area itself didn't have much for the family.

‘secret garden' etc.). Very well equipped and not cluttered with twee junk selected by, well meaning but misguided, owner. The library has to one of the best we have encountered.
